This is Division by Nikhilam Sutra of Vedic Mathematics. It is only applicable for "when the divisor is near to base (i.e. 10,100,1000,10000,.........10^n) only. When the divisor is above the base we need to use "Paravartya Yojayet" sutra. When the divisor is any type, we need to use "Dhwajanka" sutra. It is also known as Flag Method of divison.
