They sound completely different when there's only 3/4 of the band. Just goes to show that 5SOS wouldn't be as amazing as they are if they were a 3 piece. And anyway, for those of you who are saying they're just pretending to play their instruments, they're not. I saw them live 2 weeks ago (AKA the best night of my entire existence) and yeah, they totally play their instruments for real. I would know because I grew up with music so I can tell if people are pretending to play. When you see 5SOS live, you can literally feel the beat of Ashton playing his drums (even though I was towards the back of the hall), and you can feel the bass and the guitars playing literally in your bones and it's the greatest experience that I can't even describe it properly. And trust me, you don't get that feeling in your bones or feel the beat of the drums through the floor if they were only pretending to play.
