Boiling willow bark is a cheap way of attaining salcylic acid as well. Or even rooting a few willow sticks in the same medium as your layering target. Once the roots formed you remove the willow carefully.

Thank you for sharing the actual experience and knowledge! I had to search and search thru all the videos of how-to from 'zillions' of people telling and 'showing how to's, without ever showing they had success. You know and show!!! You are the exception!! Someone who actually knows and grows them on!

I have explored almost all video clips related to this topic about cloning and Air-Layering, but this video clip is greatest among all. Your explanation is very simple & very easy to follow even for the amateur & beginners as your step by step procedure is very clear & easy to follow. A kind request that please keep on making such more useful clips & share on KZbin for our better success and make our gardening hobby more interesting, enjoyable & also make our task easy. Thanks.

Nice, I did this with a Texas Honey Mesquite tree, as an experiment, and it worked! Hoever, I left the bag on it for 2 months and didn't water the little bag. I noticed a problem when I saw the tiny leaves falling, after inspecting the bag, I noticed lots of roots that if I would have taken better care of, this experiment would have been a full success. I live in West Texas and love the way this tree grows in the region. I plan to redo this experiment to avoid having to purchase the tree. Wish me luck 🤞.

I just want to say thank you for all of your excellent videos. Your explanations on how to care for desert roses have been my go-to videos for taking care of my seedling, and the little guy is thriving! I also want to say that many KZbinrs who discuss plants reference "trade secrets" that they're unwilling to share. I don't know if these tricks are considered "secrets," but nonetheless, thank you for sharing them so we amateur gardeners can test new strategies to grow our gardens at minimal cost.

As well as showing by demonstration you impart information clearly with out washing time as some of the American presenters do

Whether or not salicylic acid will help promote root growth is heavily dependent on the plant you're cloning and the concentration on a per plant basis. Aspirin is cheap but a typically better alternative that also has IAA (the type of Auxin [rooting hormone] found in plants) is Aloe Vera. Just cut a small section of aloe , remove the gel and blend with water (something like a 1" section of aloe to .5 - 1 gal of water) and water as described in the video. Again, these are all heavily dependent on the specific plant you are tying to clone and some plants have many more case studies than others. Loved the info about dicot and monocot!

Hi Susan - Is it true that an avocado tree takes years to produce edible fruit? Did you grow yours from seed? Just curious as I usually throw our the seeds...but I love avocados! I am so curious to know how it went for you.

Dr Saab thanks a lot for this episode Saab the 2 methods tip and simple leyering made me to go back to my school days memories these are the methods we were taught in school every evening 1hr gardening is a must for all students The difficult in this method is to see the formation of roots u have to dig the soil after a month or so But the Monocots and Decots are easy to learn I go with Decots since I feel this is the best and easy way and more over u can see the update of rooting and get the results with in 20 days time I multiplied most of my fruiting plants with this method only Now iam going to use this method on my Micky Mouse Bush plant this is the 1,st time iam going to do on a flowering bush tree with ur guidelines Thank u sir God bless you and your family
