I know you have seen plenty of videos about PCB and how to make it at home by yourself, but you couldn’t make a nice and sharp one and many times you fail or your PCB got errors, sometimes shorts circuits may appear in your PCB, sometimes tracks may breaks or shapes may deformed and final PCB is not much glorious.
In this video we will relearn how to make PCB by photoresist dry film method and in the same time, I will tell you 5 secrets to make sharp and nice PCBs at home.

You didn’t mention the headache of drilling holes for through-hole components 🤣. This used to be a very necessary skill for the electronics enthusiast to learn. And it can be fun most of the time for very simple designs. But thankfully we now live in an era where beautiful PCB can be manufactured for almost no cost at all and delivered within days from Chinese factories. The ability to have multiple layers, plated through-holes, solder mask, silk screening, and even electrical testing to guarantee there are no errors really puts the at-home methods to shame. I’ll admit it’s difficult having to wait several days for your PCB to be delivered, but the cost and time savings really can’t be overstated. Would be fun to see a video in the future where you show us how to send files for this same board to a PCB manufacturer.

A clean and easy method of attaching the photoresit to a blank board I found in another video is to heat the PCB board and have it mounted to something stable. Then pull the photo resist taught while stretching it over the surface of the board. Don't stretch it hard just to keep wrinkles out. The photoresist will bond to the hot copper and the combinating of the heat somewhat shrinking it with your holding it taut will give a perfectly smooth bonding. Trim the edges and move on. A laminator might be nicer, but if you don't have one, it can still be possible and if you get the knack ot it, maybe even better.

I keep getting bubbles in mine. The trick I saw in one video is to wet the board first, so the film slides easily, just like how you install window tint in a car.

I’ve used that method you describe with great success, except I use overhead transparency film (double up the film to get the right darkness). I built a simple laminator by removing the temperature controller. Great pressure and heat and only needs one pass. Just don’t leave the laminator on too long! 1 teaspoon of sodium carbonate (washing soda) per litre water to develop the resist, then expose in sunshine and etch. Tracks turn blue when nicely exposed. Then remove resist using 1 teaspoon caustic soda per litre … now I’m wondering if my recollection of the solution concentrations is correct… never mind it can be adjusted if too weak!
