I never liked pressing fabric when sewing, but when I started doing it the projects were looking soooo much better and also helped keeping the fabric in place

Tammy I used to live in Germany and we have converted all our electrical items with a £2 plug bought from eBay. Your two pin just fits nicely inside the UK plug and you’d never know the difference. This also doesn’t invalidate any guarantee you may have on any items (cutting off the plug would do that). The Ultimate Handyman on KZbin has a link to the eBay seller. He has a short video of how it works. Hope this helps 😊

I use the bobbin/spool clips and the groove that you wrap the end of the thread around i have that end touching the bobbin and wrap both spool and bobbin ends around it to keep both from unraveling

I love my magnetic pin dish. I bought two parts holders from Harbor Freight and spray painted them to match my sewing room. I use the base to sweep across the floor to pick up accidentally dropped pins. It picks up the strays and I can then put them where they belong. I have 3 now, for sewing table, cutting table, and ironing board because they were so cheap.

I love my bobbin organisers and my magnetic pin cushion and I was lucky enough to be gifted a wooden point turner :)

Enjoyed your video and love that I have some of the same items. You asked for an iron recommendation. After my iron started leaking, I was on the hunt for a new one and tried oh so many. I finally found a good one, and I still love it after a 2 years. It is the CHI Steam Iron for Clothes with Titanium Infused Ceramic Soleplate, 1700 Watts, XL 10' Cord, 3-Way Auto Shutoff, 300+ Holes, Professional Grade

Magnetic pin cushions are life savers with a dog in the house. As for your iron, just change the plug (but get someone to do it who knows what they are doing). I live in France and got all my UK appliances changed to a French plug, so I know it can be done.

I got a transparent 1/2" flexible pipe from b&q and cut it in 1/2" sections and sliced it on one side so it opened up. Pop this round your bobbin and it stops thread unwinding. For reels I use loom bands to hold thread in place. To stop steam scalding legs put tin foil on ironing board under the cover. It improves ironing too. I use an iron with a steam generator as I have weak arms and water in an iron is too heavy for me. Hope these suggestions help

Good point about steam going through the ironing board. My dog likes to go underneath mine & I always have to chase her away while I'm ironing so she doesn't get scalded!

The bobbin holders look good. I use something like these now but they don't fit into my big serger thread spools nor my Gutterman thread spools. Thanks!

That's strange, I can also fit my Gutterman spools in my bobbin holders - maybe the ones you have are too small?

Hi Tammy, my iron recommendation is the Russell Hobbs freedom cordless steam iron. I got mine from amazon for £29.22, I also got an ironing mat that turns into a carry bag that fits this iron and base and makes it the perfect portable iron for taking anywhere. Again, amazon. 😊

These all look really cool! Never seen the button tool before. For the bobbin keeper, could you wrap the bobbin thread between the bobbin and the spool of thread?

Put the thread upside down on the organizer and take the bobbin thread end and put it in the groove of the thread spool to prevent it from unraveling.
