I find it more than strange that Brendan won for a role that no one has even seen the movie basically. It's like the voting is rigged. The Whale wasn't even nominated for best picture. It's all decided in some back room. I'm done. I haven't watched the Oscars for ten years and only watched parts of it to see if Austin won. Kevin Costner won for Dances with wolves as best movie and director. But after that he stopped going to the academy awards for some reason. Tom Hanks did not go and neither did tom cruise. Two big stars. I didn't know even a 1/4 of the stars in the audience. Hollywood is too woke and I guess elvis was not woke enough. Colin Farrell also got snubbed and I thought if Austin didn't win Colin would. We should have known. At least the BAFTAS is honest.

So interesting about Austin. ELVIS was the first movie I’ve seen Austin in! He is so awesome in ELVIS, many of us has seen the movie 5 times at Cinema and more than you can Count on our own copies. He is so kind and humble on the interviews I’ve seen! He is so handsome it’s unbelievable! He was voted in so many revenues as an Oscar for Austin but the Oscars chose someone else! Austin will mirror Leo Dicaprios career path. Leo has been meticulous in his choices becoming a favorite of Martin Scorsese. It took 6 nominations as best actor for Leo to win his Oscar. Austin was in Once upon a time in Hollywood with Leo and Brad. Austin was a child actor just like Leo was, on TV before he went into film. Of all the up and coming young handsome actors around now, Austin is the only one who has been on Broadway and has support of Denzel. I believe Leo told Austin dont get roped into a super hero role right now. That's good advice. Hold out for good challenging roles from here on. His career is going straight up right now. People who did not like Dune 1 have said they will go see Dune 2 just to see Austin be Feyd Rautha. Amazing.

The Oscars were the shocking part, everyone on the red carpet and leading up thought Austin would win he had the best performance of the year, everyone hates The Whale it wasn’t even nominated yet now we have to refer to it’s has a Oscar winner is beyond ridiculous while Elvis went away empty handed after being nominated in 8 categories, they couldn’t reward Elvis hair and make up as they had already decided Fraser was winning and the two go together even though they were the front runners to win same with costumes all those 9000 costumes Catherine Martin had to re-create exactly and had won all the industry awards is disgusting and don’t get me started on Jimmy Kimmel mocking his voice after interviewing him and praising his performance and where were all those so called voters who attended packed screenings with loads being turned away, standing ovations and everyone wanting to meet and chat with him at the end he took time to sign autographs and have photos with them, the whole thing is just not right at least as a Brit I can say the BAFTAs got it right and the Golden Globes and even the ACCTA’s.

Yes, Austin was robbed of the Oscar. I like Brandon, but how hard is it to play a fat guy in the movie Whale. Austin spends 3 years researching and perfecting his role for Elvis. He is a dedicated, sensitive, charming person and deserves that Oscar. In my eyes he won!!❤

Austin got robbed, he deserved the Oscar the most, the Academy did not reward the right performance instead they chose to give a pity award. There are hundreds of actors that could have pulled off the part Brendan played but I do not know who else could have brought Elvis back to life like Austin did. The Globes got it right and Bafta too while the Academy messed up again, it was a sympathy Oscar for Brendan and how the other actors love him as well with his comeback narrative where Austin worked years on his role and had a better performance, hard to pull off Elvis with the moves, voice, etc - not just wearing a fat suit and crying. Austin had THE standout performance while Brend was awarded for making a comeback, but don't Rob the deserving actor to do so - create a new award category for comeback performance if Brendan needs credit that bad. Anyway the Oscars are over, Austin will survive he has numerous other awards and glad he got the Golden Globe more so so that Lisa Marie and Priscilla was there to see him receive it. I like Brendan Fraser in his earlier movies and the Academy gave him this along with SAG and Critics choice for his comeback role not for his performance, please, The Academy loves comeback performances more than pure talent. The movie Elvis itself didn't win 1 award which proves their bias, they never liked Elvis and quite a number of Academy members even admitted they didn't see all the nominated films and performances which proves my point it was more of a popularity contest than a contest based on talent. Austin I'm sure wanted to win but he's not gonna moan about it, his acting career will now take off, all in all my personal opinion Austin gave a better performance and should have got the Oscar but it's not the end of the world- let Brendan enjoy his Oscar, Austin will enjoy his acting career, enough said I'm over this

It's definitely rigged. Austin could have had the votes but they just decide to glorify obesity and how some people can't help eating too much and give it to Brendan? Most people were shocked. I don't like Brendan as an actor I never did see any of his silly Mummy movies. The reason they call it a comeback is because Brendan kept talking about it and crying in every interview. He won't get any roles out of this but Austin will. Leo was nominated a whopping 6 times before he won. There are many fabulous actors who have never won. This is a lesson learned, don't believe the hype or what fans want. The academy couldn't care less about fans. It's so political. The year they announced Lala Land as best picture and then quickly took it away and gave it to a movie no one had seen and still hasnt seen, I knew then it was all down to politics and money. Many Oscar winners see their careers enter a downswing. I can think of so many who did not get the roles to make them stars. It's probably good Austin didn't win yet, there's no resentment toward him. Colin Farrell also should have won an Oscar Years ago. Coin did a few interviews about his movie but he was polite and engaging. Brendan was so annoying. You'd have thought he had been voted king of the world. Austin is so popular now but he needs to follow a path like Leo's.
