I love living in the past, its the only bit of pleasure I get out of life. I find that things have changed but not for the better. Everything about modern life irritates me one way or another. Peoples attitude nowadays makes me sick. I will not be controlled.

Great points. I'm 72 yo. I learn something almost every day. My father bought a lot on a lake in 1956 and built a simple cottage with his own two hands with very little help from friends. (He preferred to do it himself because when friends helped, he sometimes had to undo and redo what they did.) I now own it and like to have my grandsons come out, with their parents too. The do NOT play with their electron game things when at the lake. They actually PLAY OUTSIDE, in the water! They wear themselves out and have the best night sleep, EVER. They also come with me to my son's house and we have a game day, no electronics. We have great fun. They are at their beginnings of the teen years. I broke my hip almost 5 years go trimming trees (no, I did not fall off a ladder), but I try not to let that slow me down, but sometimes it does. Six weeks after my surgery, I was back to mowing my yard. Took me FIVE times longer, with a LOT of pain (one hour and a half instead of twenty minutes, BUT I GOT IT DONE!)

In some cultures (mostly in the west), mental deteriorations and incapacity because of advanced age are called "stupidity" - even such disabilities because of some impairment could render you be insulted like that! For heaven's sake! be respectful at least to the elderly regardless of their drawbacks!!

Fear of change might seem natural in old age, but sometimes it’s just an excuse to avoid facing the reality that life is constantly evolving, whether we like it or not.

1 Not being afraid to seek love in my life. After living a life where others made sure I was unhappy, in family situations, I have chosen a different path. I have done many things in the last several years, that are outside of my comfort zone. I feel as if I have achieved a level of personal growth, that I can be proud of. Your wise words reinforce what I have done. Age is just a number. We can sit down, and sit it out, or we can engage fully, and enjoy life.

I concur. Additionally I avoid toxic people especially alcoholics because they don't listen to anybody but themselves and they're always wrong They think they know what they're doing but they don't because they are too screwed up inside They won't focus I seen it so many times and I'm a senior.

…… and money has what to do with being stupid? Proving Stupidity cannot be paid off ? A person who believes that the amount of money in one’s bank account is indicative of their level of cognitive functioning is one clear definition of stupid.

Humility vs modern technology: Look, ever since the early days of computers, they have been designed and built, for the designers and builders to know, and you to find out. Ever notice that computers never come with written instructions? You have to know how to search the computer itself, for help! That's where kids come in. Their strength lies in numbers, always sharing with each other what they learn. For help with technology, my go-to is with kids. If it means being humble, so be it. I was a kid, on the cutting edge of video technology, and what we'd do, was fiddle and fuss with it, and share with anyone interested with it. I know the deal, and it has never changed.

It's true, technology often requires us to learn and adapt. Embracing humility can open doors to learning from others, no matter their age. Every step forward, no matter how small, is progress.

"Thank you for sharing your thoughts! In reality, as we age, everyone has different experiences. This post isn’t meant to offend anyone, but rather to highlight certain behaviors that can make it more challenging to adapt to changes in life as we grow older. Instead of labeling them as 'stupid,' we can think of these as habits or mindsets that might hinder personal growth and happiness in later years. Staying mentally flexible and open to learning is key to living a joyful, healthy life in old age. I’d love to hear more of your thoughts and keep the conversation going on how we can make aging a more meaningful experience!" This response encourages a positive, respec

As people get older, they become more resistant and afraid of change and how to navigate their way through it. On the other side of the coin, some technology and its not well understood intrusion into our private lives, has opened the door to new types of crimes which the elderly are particularly vulnerable to because of their trusting nature and lack of sophistication for online security strategies.

Change can be challenging, but it's also an opportunity for growth. Raising awareness about online security is crucial, especially to protect the trusting nature of our elders. Thank you for sharing this thoughtful insight! 💻✨
