In this video, I have discussed 5 signs of speech delay so that parents will know how to know the child has speech delay. The child should have age appropriate speech as his/her age group, if not, the child has speech delay.
If the child doesnot speak spontaneously or just imitate the words, cannot put the words together to form sentences or phrases till 2years of age, then the child has speech delay. Watchout the video to know more.

Hello anamika madam. Your video was quite informative. I have twin baby boys. They were born prematurely after completion of my 7months 2 days of pregnancy. Both of them have achieved all thier development milestones timely even after being prematured babies except for the speech part. They are almost 23 months old now. My elder twin baby learns words fast however my younger one till now only speaks 15-20 words and does blabering most of the time. Although both of them are intelligent, active and follow instructions very diligently. Both of them understand all our instructions and follow them. Please guide me as I am very concerned about thier speech development. All the schools are closed now due to pandemic so I can't get them joined to any play school now.

Hi Dr Anamika, This is Prasenjit , I have seen ur videos at youtube , My daughter Spriha is 3 years old Now she is doing the following 1.Having Proper eye contact and very much responsive. 2.Playing with other 3.Identify all objects 4.speaks in words Example when thirsty says jal(water) And bring her bottle and drink When hungry says the food name and says hungry 5.Call her mom me her grandparents uncle teachers 6.When ask her name answer her name 7.Sing full ryme 8.When sees cats and dogs goes and said their name 9.Identify number from 1 to 50 When feel pain said But only thing she is not saying full sentence , Now she is just 3 years ,need your guidance what step should we take. I readed all comments of parents, my heart melted and feel pain and chaos. My son is going to be 2 years old this 28th, he spoke "wao" as his first word without teaching, in his 1 year and later maa. Now in 1 year he occasionally learnt few word like red,dog, nimu (nimbu) aam and only few more and none of prononciation are clear. He has big sister she is above intelligent,intellectual,loving and caring. He understands everything from start, bring thing on call,still give cute expression and gesture. Some time he doesn't concentrate while taking avoid eye contact when hold close. Reply all and everyone queries as humm. He start walking late and after a lot training. I can feel something is not right with my feared heart but I pary God to give strength to me and every parent who is going through this situation to understand them and love them unconditional.

Hai mam, your presentation was very nice and clearly indicating the difference regarding speech therapy. My son was 30month old and he understanding everything and clearly responses for our instructions but he won't say a word not even mom dad. He always uses sound like aaahhh- for calling anyone, naaaah- for not accepting anything and hummmm- for saying 'yes'. We tried him to speak with him slowly to make him understand. But he always refuses to say words and always ran out from us. He is very active doing all the things and will recognizes the things but always refuses to speek. While dancing also he uses the words like aaaaaahhhhhhh only. Iam not getting should he need speech therapy? Plz guide us

Thank you dr. Mere neighbor ki 2.6 year ki beti hai jija nam hai. jo abhi tak bat nahi karti . Kuch ajib sa badbadati hai . Uski maa nahi hai but ghar me baki sab log hai . Mam jija jab 1.6 years ki thi tab mere paas rahti thi our normally Chandamama baba di tai mammi doghi cou uncle bye bye Tata aise wards bolti thi jab se mere paas ana band kiya hai mai dekh rahi huu ki woo bat nahi karti baki ke kam karti but kuch ajib sa badbadati hai . Aise mai kya karna chahiye . Meri wo kuch nahi lagti but mujhe uski fikr ho rahi hai .uski dadi nahi manti but uske papa ko mai mana lungi aur ek saal bad agar aisa hi raha to wo special school me bhej denge use . Its good to know about your concern for the child. You can tell her father to follow my channel. Do they talk enough with the child with all knowledgeable activities, picture showing, telling the names of the objects? If NO, then ask his father to start doing that. Give her atleast 1hour time per day exclusively playing meaningfully with her.

My grand daughter does not speak yet while she is going to be 4 years now. She only babbling of her own but does not speak any works. While she was about to talk, we doubt that here parents were not in good understanding and so they just kept keeping the baby watching tv while they busy in their own argument or other stuff. During this critical time the parents separated and the baby started living with maternal grand parents. Currently the baby sees us and our son, her father once a week. She has been going thru various assessment and currently she is getting one to one speech therapy. Still she holds our hand and raise it to point out to the cupboard when she wants to get cookies. We bothe paternal grand parents are very much worried. We live in Canada. Please advice what we should do so that our baby learns sooner than later to talk.

Assuming she is also in canada & taking speech therapy there, you should talk to her in one language, reduce screen time to minimal, talk live with her with actions & descriptively keeping the sentences to simple sentence. Try to teach her with some action rhymes and let the child imitates the body movements or vocalization pattern. Always remember repetition of activities is the key.

Ma'am, my boy is 2 years old. He doesn't speak even a word at all. No words. He tends to listen when I speak to him, jab main usko poems sunaati hu, ya gaana gaati hu, he listens, he even makes eye contact, he loves to engage in small games with me, with other members of the family too. But he doesn't talk. When we took him to a therapist, he said that my son has some traits which are autistic, but making eye contact is good. My question is - I talk to him almost all day, even when I am doing some chores (I am a housewife), beta kabhi kabhi sunta hai, like he makes eye contact, aur kabhi kabhi main bolti rehti hu, lekin woh apna khelta rehta hai.. phir bhi I keep talking to him (talking like telling stories, nursery rhymes, children's song..) . Uska first Occupational Therapy aj karwaye hai humne (28.05.2022) speech therapy hogi next Saturday. Kya main sahi jaa rahi hu? As a Mom mujhe aur kya karna chahiye? Kya humne bahut der kar di?

Madam, my 4 years old son keeps babbling through out the day, just meaningless words, cant form any sentence, only repeats the words told. But he can memorize digits, alphabets and other basics and loves to play with others. How can i encourage him to talk properly?

Knows A for Apple to Z, numbers 1-20 , countries flag and names ,shapes colours,fruits vegetables name, animals everything but doesn't speak in sentences. Hardly responds to strangers . Hi Mam, thank you for this lovely video. My son will turn 3 years next month, he can imitate, sings rhymes/poem and even follows my actions when I sing/dance on a rhyme. But depends on his mood, he doesn't do it every time. He knows many animals, shapes, colors etc and pronounce them very clearly and correct. My concern is he had COVID few month back after that his speech has drastically reduced mainly due to his iron levels fell to 8 (should be 24 as per standard) from that time I noticed he is talking very less. He doesn't say 2 words at once (Mama Khana or Baba Paani). Plays with babies but has his own favorites cousins/friends not with all...A therapist suggested me to place him in a play school. What do you suggest mam, thank you and God bless you.

She points on whatever she knows ex. Apple to zebra. 1-10. Light.fan.water. ball. But she doesnt talk. Not a single word. She keeps on making sound the whole day. De do n blah blah. Hi mam. My daughter has completed 3 years ( Born in July 2018) but speaks single or two words. She knows A to Z , 1 to 10. She recognise all alphabets, knows the names and recognise all vehicles, shapes and colours. If she wants to listen wheels on the bus she will say wheels bus with action.
