#1 On Guard While Sleeping
When cats sleep near people they do not trust
or in situations when they have to be alert,
they sleep with their head up
or with all four paws on the floor.
This is so that they can immediately run away
if something dangerous happens.
#2 Sleeping Near People They Trust
1. Sleep with head on the floor
When cats nap while still alert,
they tend to sleep with their head up.
However, if their chin is on the floor
or their head is down while they are sleeping,
it means that they trust the owner.
2. Sleep with paws off the floor
If cats sleep with their paws off the floor,
it means that they are comfortable with their surroundings
and they trust the owner.
However, if they sleep with all paws on the floor,
they could be highly on guard.
3. Belly up
If cats sleep with their belly up
in front of the owner,
it means that they trust the owner completely.
The belly protects important internal organs,
so cats usually do not show this part of the body to others
since they can get fatally hurt when attacked.
4. Sleeping with their behind showing
When cats sleep with someone they trust,
they sleep with their behind showing.
For animals, showing their back to others
means that they trust the others
to not attack them.
When cats display their behind to the owner,
they are asking him to protect them.
This means that they trust the owner
to the point that they show their vulnerability.
5. Sleeping with their body touching the owner
Adult cats generally sleep on their own
as they are independent creatures.
However, if they sleep with parts of their body
glued to the owner,
it means that they trust him.
