I totally agree with you that you can’t wait for other people to join you. Sometimes you just need to go solo. Great tips!

I love your personality, I also do solo travel, but I’ve been dragging myself into our darker, lonely hole recently, and watching your video make me remember that I can enjoy and be positive and enjoy the journey

"You can't wait for someone else to join you, because if you do that you'll be waiting forever." Words of wisdom! I've been getting into hostel hopping more, mainly outside of the US. I'm actually spending 3 months in the Baltics this summer! I am from/go to school in NH, USA (plenty of adventures to be had hiking/rock climbing there) and will be in Colombia at a friend's farm for a few weeks this winter and backpacking in Western Europe this April. But I'd love to make a trek to SE Asia. Going to the grocery store can be expensive so I'd never label traveling as cheap but grateful for your advice on how to keep costs on the more affordable side of the spectrum while still making memories :) I also cut out alc for a few reasons, but have definitely enjoyed the social side of traveling (post high school my brother and I backpacked thru Banff, Canada and stayed at Canmore downtown hostel, it was our first time in a bar with some friends we just met and we both made absolute fools of ourself doing karaoke/dancing dead sober). If we ever happen to co-inhabit the same hostel or city in the future, would love to link up for a hike! -Maria

Great video! My top tip for walking alone through hoards of folks in busy areas is to look ahead and focus on a spot just slightly above the heads of the folk coming toward you. Crowds will part, believe me, and this is a blessing because walking by yourself often means getting pushed, bumped into by folks in groups.

How long can a person be gone before their cat adopts itself to someone else? Honest question. Some people worry about a weekend trip because of their cat's attitude when they get back. It might stop people from travelling to places when they really should get out there and just do it, you did!
