I have the RO 5 states system , if I add a DI to my Ro system. does this water with DI filter is good to drink?

Why is it not recommended to drink DI water? Is it because it contains no minerals?

I have the 6 stage unit and the d.i. Resin seams to change color real fast. Is there something I can do or is it just my well water? Should I leave the water full when not in use or empty? Thanks

Great video, I am new to the ro systems a friend recently gave me an ro system from SAMs club it's called 5 stage ro premier tfm5. Now I checked it out on there site and it doesn't say anything about DI. Can you please help me understand. And if I need something your company was highly recommended to me so I will order whatever I need to set this up I need it for my salt water tank and also is the water good to drink after it has been filter. I want to set up a FOWLR 10 gallon system. I'm 15, which means I don't have the money to buy an RO unit. I have a spare filter with a carbon sponge in it. Before I would do a water change, I would leave the tap water overnight with the carbon filter switched on in a bucket. Afterwards, I would add the salt, dechlorinator and any other water treatment and wait for another 24 hours. Would this method treat the tap water so it's safe to use in a FOWLR tank?

It would take some effort to carry the water from the store to my house, but it will be worth it. I found a 3 stage RO unit that costs around $60 on a specialist RO website, I live in the UK however, so I can't buy equipment from your store.

Are the carbon filters activated carbon? Like Pentek Chlor Plus? If so great... if not, do you offer a system that has them?

In a 5 stage system, two of the stages are carbon blocks. Our BRS RODI systems come with BRS branded filters, but we do offer the Pentek Chlorplus filters separately if you'd rather swap them out.

@@BRStv Considering chloramine is becoming standard, activated carbon might be something you guys could consider including in a default system some day. ( just a suggestion )

@@ashurgeorge4604 In our early RODI units (5-6yrs ago) we did use a chamber for catalytic carbon, but quickly found that it's life span was extremely short and basically useless after a small amount of gallons. After that we sourced our own BRS Universal Carbon Blocks. They are now included with every RODI unit and have outperformed any other carbon block or carbon filter in our industry. ;)

Interesting, I just purchased your 5 stage RO-DI non economy system and I didn't get that EZ connector by merloc OR a cheap saddle valve for the waste water. Come on man!
