Just giving my perspective - I started posting seriously (roughly 3-5 times a day) in the last month alone - in niche of soccer content. I have just about doubled my follower count from 70-135, but have also netted over 11k likes during that time. Even sticking to one niche, it seems like it is difficult to gain followers. I am going to stick with it because the worst thing you can do is give up, but even so as a very small creator it is still difficult even after a ton of research I have been doing. I have found that consistency helps and I am still getting engagement on videos that I posted weeks ago, but even so the growth isn't as large as I would like, especially in the follow column. I think once you get that foundation built up of your followers coming back as opposed to being a "one-hit wonder", that is the better strategy. Again, just my personal opinion but I can speak on my experience there.
