Thank you for your honest reviews. Old Navy ain't what it used to be. It is a shame, but they are the last place I go. They used to have great accessories, no more. I have recently discovered Maurice and Quince(more pricey). The Amazon brand does good basics in my price range(they last).

ALL great finds Cathy! LOVE all the items. Agree with you on the black dress; it looks great on you but, like you, I hate struggling w/zippers (esp with a bad back). I'm all about comfort & convenience. Love the cognac boots. They looked great with your outfit. For me, however (being 5' tall), I'd pair the outfit with black or denim colored boots (going with the black top or denim bottoms) to make myself look taller. Thank you for the great finds!

I love the geo print shirt dress from Talbots. It looks great on you! I am a 2x and never wear dresses, as I don't think they are appropriate to my size. However, you are slowly changing my mind about that. You are so good at finding dresses that work for Apple shapes. I also think you look nice in Talbots clothing. That geo dress from Talbot's is SO flattering! Definitely can see why you had to have that, and I like it with the jacket for a completely different look! The polo shirt is really slimming with the white trim creating the vertical line! I am really enjoying indigo blue. I noticed the same with Talbot's pricing... it's my favorite store because they do classics so well, but I always wait for the sales. At least they have those often! The Spanx color is so pretty! To me it looks like a dusty navy, but I think "dark storm" is a good descriptor because it does remind me of a storm at the ocean! So pretty! The Frank & Eileen jacket is gorgeous! Hi, Cathy! I started to follow you after I saw your collab with Serena. You look great in your clothing. I lost weight from 172 lbs to 153. I’m 80% plant based…lol as I’m supposed to be 100%. I noticed when I lost weight that clothes were a challenge. I thought the clothing quality sucks. Most do but I had to learn all new measurements and that was a struggle. My sis is a Talbots girl as she’s in the workforce. She loves that brand and she has made strides with their customer service and their associates there that they call her to tell her they have new styles that they think will fit her lifestyle. The first dress is soooo flattering - the pattern distracts, and the ruching is brilliant! I like the leather jacket too. The cardigan is a classic - can be worn in so many ways. The light blue jacket is great- again a very flattering shape. Love the J Crew sweater jacket - such a versatile piece and the length is perfect. Have to agree about Talbot's prices - they have really increased, and the sales are not real - they just bring the prices down to what they were last year! I like the purple/gray Spanx color, and like the pants, but for me the sweatshirt needs to be longer in the body. The Frank and Eileen double breasted jacket looks so good. Great fall wardrobe - well done!

Those were all great outfits. My favorite was the Frank & Eileen set. It definitely is an investment but it really looked tailored just for you. I wish they sold the jacket separately as I feel I'd get more use out of just the jacket. I think the navy top with white placket is a favourite, and very versatile so would be a good purchase. I am also in Canada and used to shop at Laura almost exclusively. However they removed petite from the plus sizes and everything has polyester. Very disappointing. Thank you for suggesting a good variety of shops.

I've been a Talbots customer since the 1980s and there's just no comparison to what they used to be. I can't believe that they want $100 for synthetic sweaters and their dresses are just not what I want. They've also decreased the petite plus offerings, and they don't even have their traditional wool tweed blazers this year. I've been reduced to looking for previous years' offerings from resellers.

Nice outfits! I’ve had success with long boots from Penningtons. I have wide feet and wide calves and, although I don’t need the plus size clothing, they have a fabulous selection of footwear, including boots. Prices are pretty good too, and they have more online than in-store. I love that jacket you wore at the end of the video!

Great outfit ideas, and I agree with you, A lot of stores are going down in quality, they’ve got to drop the prices because of the economy and the quality suffers. I think also because so many people are turning to Amazon for “fast fashion“ and I actually made up in my mind. After my last outfit I bought on Amazon and Old navy to not go down that rabbit hole with clothing, but for the most part, it’s all junk from overseas wear it once throw it away. I’m trying to stick with nicer stores like sell classics like Ann Taylor, Chico’s, Talbots, QVC but even then I have to shop sales for my budget. I’d rather have quality pieces over quantity, so I mix and match to make more outfits. Regarding boots, I got a pair last year from Lane Bryant in dark brown suede and I can’t wait to wear them this year- the wide calf zip up just fine. The other retailer to look that I shop a lot is QVC because they get a lot of their vendors that carry size xxsmall through 5X, and a lot of their shoes come regular, wide, and wide calf on some boots…. Plus when they bring in a shoe, they might have six colors where a store like Macy’s, or Nordstrom only carry two colors, and I’m a wide foot and I love buying the same shoe in multiple colors when something fits and is comfortable, I’ve learned to stock up ….. so check them out. 😊😊😊

I'm not sure where the stores are in Toronto, they do have 2 in Ottawa. You can call a Canadian store and they will ship to you, but to get Petite Plus it has to be ordered online. I really wish that they would set up a Canadian website as it's costly with the duties, taxes, etc..

Talbots quality has gone down hill. They used to finish their seams and nothing ever pilled. I've been a customer for 40 years.

Talbots has gone through 2 acquisitions, the first in 1993 to JUSCO Co LTD, the second in 2012, to a NYC private equity firm: Sycamore Partners, who also own Ann Taylor and Loft. Talbots has been struggling to stay afloat since 1990 and almost went under in 2012. The poor quality of their garments and the lack of direction for the brand continues today. Both Talbots and Ann Taylor were lovely stores with high quality clothes. Not anymore.

Great video, lots of variety. I have recently fallen in love with Ulla Popken, a German company. I am in Canada, not too far from the border so I ship to US, literally usually receive in less than 5 days, shipping is 9.50-ish. To Canada, shipping is much more plus taxes. I haven’t tried shipping to Canada so I can’t speak to that.

I remember you said that you don't get Quince in Canada. Please petition them to ship to Canada. I got a pair of pants from Quince and one from Spanx today and they are truly almost identical. I love the blue jacket. But I really don’t need anymore jackets. So I’ll have to think about that one. I like the blue sweater. I would keep the bigger size. That way if it’s chilly you can wear a thicker shirt underneath. The black jacket does look too big. I have broad shoulders too. And that’s how I tell if anything fits me. Put it on and pull my shoulders to the front. If I can’t move I know it doesn’t fit. Have you ever tried Woman Within? They have wide leg calf boots. And most of their boots are wide calf. I have an Old Navy outlet close to me. I’m going to go there and look around. I found the boots and a pair of shoes I liked. But I think I tried the Wow jeans and they didn’t fit me right. So I’ll go into the store and try them on. But some of their clothes aren’t the best. I liked the first dress on you. I couldn’t pull that off. And the ruching made it so cute. The blue and white polo sweater I loved. Everything I buy the arms are too long. I just roll them up. The black Frank & Eileen jacket looks great on you. It’s out of my budget. But I’m sure there’s a jacket like that out there somewhere that is more budget friendly. I would just have to look for it. And I probably don’t need it anyway.

Please stop saying you don’t care what people think. Because to me it sounds like you do care. Wear what makes you feel good. No one else has to wear it. I’m 70 and I dress exactly like I have always. I will say I don’t think the black booties were the best choice for the dress and your legs. A taller boot imo would look better. But do as you wish.

I do wear what I like. I say I don't care, because I'm tired of rude, snarky comments when I am trying to help women. I can't do tall boots sadly, maybe one day I will find a pair that works, but for now, I'm sticking with the short ones.

Oh the black sleeveless dress was very flattering. But please don’t pair with the leather jacket….it seems way too big and actually brings the outfit down. The double breasted navy jacket in final outfit was way more flattering and seemed a very good fit.

Old Navy is uncertain. Sometimes clothing fits and looks good after many washes. Other times not so good. It's frustrating that some of their clothing goes to xxl petite and others only to large. I'm often returning much of what i buy. I keep going back to them because they sell petites and their sales make clothing accessible for people like me whose weight fluctuates. If my weight was stable i would go for nicer options than old navy. The Frank and Eileen jacket is great and you can mix and match with many outfits.
