I’m so very sorry. I recently finished my chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. Since in my twenties I’ve complained and complained about pain and irregular cycles. Not until I was 40 that I insisted to have the forever cyst on my ovary to be removed. Doctors kept saying it would go away on its own. Nope it got worse and more painful. After surgery they confirmed it was a rare form of cancer and surgery was sufficient to cure it. By the grace of God I got pregnant twice naturally but soon after my last delivery the pain returned. Total hysterectomy, went into immediate menopause then a year later another surgery (new tumours appeared). I pray that you will have a quick recovery and be healthy from this day forward. Unfortunately I do not believe doctors take our health concerns seriously until it is too late.

Hi Romina! When I was 36 I had to have a hysterectomy. I was bleeding three weeks a month with terrible cramps. Knowing my family history and my job in oncology, I opted to have a total hysterectomy. I can’t tell you much regarding not having children as I have had two young kids, but I will tell you about the physical. I have not regretted it physically for one minute! I’ve been on estradiol since then and I feel young and it’s been great to have an even mood without huge hormone swings, to not bleed and be in pain constantly. I’m 55 now and I my life is so much better without my ovaries, uterus and cervix. You are going to feel great! I promise!

Omg, thanks for sharing, im on the verge of going for surgery, the pain is never ending, a constant worry and impact my whole life...never been able to work because of these pain and slow doctors not wanting to really do anything because they dont want to operate on women in reproductive age since it might impact ability to birth children. But i believe women are capable to make that choice earlier on their own, if living with pain is tolerable in order to be able to have the possibility to give birth...

Thank you soo much for sharing your story, lovely!! 😘❤️ I can't tell you how much it comforted me reading about your experiences & that you're doing great on estradiol for the past 19 years. I was a bit worried about HRT for so many years & I still need to find the right dose as I've developed horrible migraines (I think my dose is too high but it's only been 4 weeks, so I need to give it time). Really a big thank you - I hope the video & our individual stories will help someone out there. Sending lots of love!! ❤️❤️❤️ Xx

@@RominaRoseMay HRT is something I’m so grateful to be on. It helps with aging, skin, brain, just kind of everything. That’s why our bodies make it in the first place. For me, the pros outweigh the cons by a lot. I was not willing to age like that in my 30s, heck even now. At least your future vacations will never be ruined by your period. You also have now avoided uterine, ovarian and cervical cancers. It’s not like I sought this out, but I will damn well make the absolute best of it. Best wishes!

In 2018 I had a doc finally listen to me after 12 years and 6 doctors. He agreed to do exploratory surgery even tho imaging look perfect. When he got in my ovaries and tubes were covered in large cyst. Before going under I told him if he found anything to take everything out. My biopsy after my complete hysterectomy showed I had multiple fibroids in my uterine wall and confirmed Adenomyosis. Adeno is a similar to endo. And less known. Adeno never leaves the walls of the uterus. My uterus was enlarged to 5 months gestation size. The only sure way to diagnose Adeno is hysterectomy and biopsy. The pain I lived in was unbearable at times. I’m so happy to hear they took care of you rather quickly. Best wishes for continued healing.

Hi Romina. Sending you all my prayers n love from the Middle East. At the age of 26 I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis .It was a year after my marriage when I noticed bloating and extreme pain. I was diagnosed with endometriosis in my pelvic, around my bladder, engulfing my sigmoid colon completely and had 6 major cysts on each of my ovaries measuring 18, 17,20,21 cm. I was operated in France, I had partial ophorectmy on both my ovaries .90 % and 85% cut. One year of GNrH Inbitors and induced menupause. Horrible !! On top of that constant pressure from in laws for not having a baby soon enough. Resulting in suicidal depression. . I have 2 beautiful miracle babies now 11 and 7 years but had a miscarriage and an intrauterine death at 7 months. Now at 42 I have endometrial hyperplasia and deep infiltrate endometriosis .. medical care not good! Fighting 😢

Hello Romina, Thank you for sharing such an emotionally painful video. I hope this will help many sufferers and educate us women. My menopause began in my early 40s and my doctor claimed it was merely "stress" because we were the same age and she said I was too young for menopause. I underwent a very invasive procedure in 2018 and it took a long time to recover mentally and emotionally. My thoughts and best wishes are with you and your husband, who must be a tower of strength for you. I hope Dacob watches this and brings attention to it on his next live stream; let's get as many men and women informed and educated on this serious women's health issue. And also to have made the decision to have this surgery it is obviously not something you wanted or wanted to have with future family planning in mind but it will also give you, how double-sided it may sound, more peace of mind as well. Romina, I’m so happy for you that you have come through this and feel good again. Unfortunately, my experience did not turn out so well. At 27, I was diagnosed with endometriosis. I was able to deal with the pain that increased every year, until I was 36 years old. By then, I was on strong pain medication to get me through the pain and that had to stop. With an internal ultrasound, the surgeon found massive growths on my ovaries. Total hysterectomy and Salpingo-Oopherectomy was indicated sooner rather than later. Mine was an open surgery and my ovaries burst on the table. All of the female organs were fused together with scar tissue. The endo had spread to my intestines and bladder. The recovery was typical although I felt as if someone else’s body was connected to my head. Such an odd feeling. While in the hospital, I was overdosed with sublingual HRT and it damaged my ears. I have Tinnitus 24/7 and have since 1993. I’m now 67 years old. For seven years every type of HRT was tried on me and it was poison to my system. I am unable to tolerate hormone supplements. After 7 years, I went cold turkey and quit taking all HRT. My quality of life became so much better, but as a result I risked bone loss and premature aging and atrophy. I’ve had a very good life thanks to my husband and my children and for that I’m very thankful. Sadly, my ability to work and function normally was limited. My entire endocrine system was compromised. I’m sad that my life changed so dramatically at age 36. Angry sometimes. My message to those out there with the diagnosis of Endometriosis is to have your hormone levels tested thoroughly before undergoing radical surgery. Choose your surgeons wisely and carefully. Know your body’s hormonal needs before the doctors ply you with drugs that may be harmful to you. Many prayers for you and others going through this pain and recovery.

Wishing you the best with your decision and the follow up. It’s so hard. I recall coming out of a surgery which was initiated due to surgeon thinking I had appendicitis (the pain was that intense) and he said ‘no your appendix is fine there’s nothing wrong with you, just cysts’. The ‘just cysts’ was so dismissive! The pain was chronic and cyclical. Im now old enough for hysterectomy to be the best option which aligns to natural menopause. But that’s years of suffering in between. Women’s health issues are so poorly researched. Good on you for taking charge.

Dear Romina, I am really very sorry that all this hardship happened to you.❤ First of all, thank you for this link to the journal. I will ask my colleague to download the entire article. I do no longer have access to university database since I do not have any funding right now. Wow. I did not know about the stages of endo. I had ovarian endo. taken out 20 years ago and nobody told me anything else. I was fine taking hormone for the rest of my fertile time. But it sounds really scary to hear about the ovarian cancer risk. Now to your situation. I do not have words to comfort you, but I know you made the only right decision. All I know that we all have our battles in life and so many wonderful women never get children. One thing in life is for sure: we always adapt to changing situations. We have to and there is so much to be thankful for also. Even though you are so courageous, I send you a lots of warm thoughts and healing powers. Thank you for sharing this information! Love, M

Romina thank you for sharing your story. I’m sure many women have gone through this or are dealing with it now and this will definitely help them to know they’re not alone. I had many surgeries in my early to mid twenties but for my Crohn’s disease. It did leave me with a lot of scar tissue which affected my ovaries and fallopian tubes. I did have a lot of pain and it was questioned whether or not I had endometriosis. My husband and I went through IVF several cycles as well as going through with frozen embryos. Sadly at the time it didn’t work. They never knew for sure whether I had endometriosis as it was too dangerous to look laparoscopically because of my previous surgeries. Eventually I had a total hysterectomy with oophorectomy. As for children we adopted our son. It was the best decision the two of us have ever made. Wishing you all the best from Canada.❤️🙏 As I watched further into your video it is bringing tears to my eyes.😢 I know all too well the physical and emotional toll it takes when you’re in and out of hospital having surgeries that don’t work and then enduring months of recovery. I had four major bowel surgeries and the recoveries were horrible. I was very young and had no idea what was in store for me. It was so exhausting. Although it was a terrible time it saved my life. I am truly appreciative but hearing stories like yours just brings back memories. Please know there are people who understand and have been through the same or similar experiences.

I have Endo and luckily 2 operations and hormonal therapy (taking the pill without any pause) keep me pain free. It also took me a long time to find out why i was in extreme pain almost always. I actually had to change my gynecologist because the first one was not able to figure out what was wrong. The second doctor told me at the first appointment about endo and recomended a laparoscopy . Especially if you have extreme pain around the time of your period, ask your doctor about endo. My pain was so bad that i found it similar to a natural child birth, and it was easier to count the days where i was not in pain then the ones that i was. Wishing you a speedy recovery and all the best! Hopefully the more we speak about it, the more people are aware and get treatment and also the more attention and research is being made.

Hi Romina, I’m so sorry you have had to go through all of this. I know that I’ve mentioned that I had it too so I know exactly how you are feeling the only difference is that I had already had my kids before my hysterectomy and for that I’m truly sorry for you 💔 I went undiagnosed until my mid 40’s when they diagnosed me with the same cysts and adenomyosis, they completely missed endo and after trying everything I resorted to a hysterectomy which is when they discovered how bad it really was, once I was on the table. I had so much fusing and scarring that I almost died during the surgery as I lost 3 litres of blood (the average woman has 5) It’s been a real ordeal and so much damage has been done now as my bowel etc have had fusing to the point other doctors say it’s too dangerous to go in to fix it. I think it’s wonderful that you are speaking out as OVARIES in general are such a taboo subject yet half of the population have or have had them and they come with such a huge burden to most! Had it have been taken more seriously from the start for myself I wouldn’t have lost so many years of my life to it so I really believe we need to get the message out there about the reality of it all so thank you for speaking up 👏🏻 I truly hope that you can find peace within your body now 🙏🏼
