We simply want to alert Armenians to the beauty and potential of their homeland and encourage them to do everything they can to help improve it. If we complain all the time, what does that achieve? President JFK once famously said, "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country." I think that says it all...except for one thing. I believe very strongly that we should all pray for Armenia every day...pray for our government and pray that God would lead us in the way of righteousness once again. Regards from Mitch

My mom and my grandmother used to tell me stories about my great grandfather's escape from the genocide and how he left Armenia to go to the US. He passed away when I was young. I do hope to visit this beautiful land one day and reconnect to my roots. I have a feeling I would fall in love. Thank you for sharing.

After living in US for 40yrs I am ready to move back to my homeland.I miss it deeply its something I can't even put in words.I found after working my ass off in US all I got a house which I still pay mortgage and no time to enjoy life and years flew by.Price of American dream is indeed high.I miss just chilling in Armenia swim in rivers eat natural fruits vegies lamb chicken listen the warmth of my people talking.Armenian hospitality is legendary.I remember my father used to bring foreign students to our house to feed them talk to them.He was interested in others...That's something missing here in US everyone wants to be left alone then you die alone.That's sad....I am ready to move back and thank you for your video and best of luck!

Your have an inspirational story Mitch. I was born in Sydney 35 years ago. When I was 28 I fled the Catholic Church and start going to the Armenian apostilic Church in Chatswood. Even though I was against the teachings of Catholism, the Armenians put me in line. I met many Armenians in Chatswood and picketed outside the Turk Consulate in Rose Bay on the 100th anniversary of the genocide. I have been to Yerevan but only spent about 48 hours in Armenia. I'm hoping to go over to Armenia soon an help out this year. Plus it will be a spring board for me to visit other Middle East countries with Armenian Diaspora (Syria, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Egypt)

Armenia is one of few nations that never practiced slavery, our kings were being chosen by whole nation and they never got killed by poisons or their own child's. Our women were always equal to men. Armenia aost never invaded any country. We only fought and will for what is ours. This is the Armenian model of democracy but west liked Greek model more, unfortunately..

@Bat...Interesting perspective...but sadly I've seen many Armenian men treating their wives as second class citizens. Women were never created to be slaves for men, but 'equal' as you say. In fact our Christian faith teaches men (read Ephesians 5 in the Holy Bible) to love their wife as their own body and as Christ loved the Church (God's children). I am a US/UK dual national living and working in the Bahamas. I visited Armenia twice in 2015 whilst I lived in Abu Dhabi. I plan on retiring at the end of 2021 and spending six months in Yerevan. The only problem I have with Armenia is that I don't like cold weather. So, I may delay my visit to Yerevan until April.

Luckily got the chance to visit Yerevan last year in December and It's like a paradise from the rich culture, traditions, arts and heavenly food. It was splendid! I also experienced the same in terms of having a connection with this lovely country, it's like part of my past life . It sounds crazy but when you've mentioned about having a soul connection -it was so profound and good thing that It's not just me who felt the same.

Armenia needs people like you to help rebuild this amazing nation.🙏 Armenia has suffered for centuries from her enemies, so I believe now is the time of her rebirth...though suffering should not always be considered as a negative thing! I believe a suffering people makes for a humble people! Interestingly, I feel more of a connection with Armenia than I ever felt in Australia...though I do still love my birthplace.👍 However, I have a confession to make!🤫 I cannot speak Hayeren, though I know some everyday words and phrases! It's a beautiful/holy language, but my wife and I speak English at home, so the need is not great for me to learn Armenian. @JESUS versus the world...it's actually Sonia, but it doesn't matter!☺️ Yes, the world had changed a lot in 64 years (my age btw). We have made progress in areas of technology, science, medicine etc, but we have regressed morally at frightening speed.😢 To live in a country like Armenia, if you don't know the language (Armenian & Russian), will present many challenges and may prove to be quite difficult. However, we are working on a long term solution i.e. to make English the 2nd language, but it will take time to implement. It is much more doable to live in or near Yerevan, if you can work online from home. Armenian wages are quite low compared to the west, but the cost of living is much cheaper, especially if you're of the frugal type. I was born in Armenia but raised in LA since I was 2 years old, when I went to Armenia the first time in June 2010 I absolutely loved it. In the one month I was there I made 3 good friends 2 of which I stillll talk to, one of them I met after leaving a casino, and when there were no taxis outside I Started walking down road because in Armenia there are taxis everywhere, in less than 5 minutes some young guy stopped(not taxi) asked me where im going I said Yerevan he said hop in, we ended up going to his friends record store, they burned me music cds we went out had a good time. In America no one stops for no one, and people are so dry and cold, people dont make eye contact and everyone is in their own bubble outside. Another thing there were ZERO homeless people and drug addicts wandering the streets, and its one of the safest countries last year the homicide rate was 34 lol out of a population of 3 million!!! There are cities in Anerica with 1/3 that population which have hundreds of homicides even thousands.

I still love America and theres still many positive things in the states but id rather live and raise my kids in Armenia, where people had less but were soooo much happier. The only thing is there aren’t too many well paying careers so for now im still in the states and stuck in the same routine rat race trying to make enough money to buy a house in America and Armenia. But for sure I am going to move back its perfect for retirement, in America the government social security for seniors will barely pay for food, in Armenia you can live well with a paid off home, especially since Armenia in the middle strattling Europe, middle east and Asia.

Armenia is one of my favourite country, although I have never visited the land. If you can, could you please tell how to much invest in Armenian property so that I can apply for citizenship? I know friends who bought property there and applied for residency tr. And opened business but we're not granted trc also leave alone pr or citizenship. Ovir is the office which was supposed to give tr pr etc. A friend bought on yeghward highway H4. In zovuni opposite the municipality office.

Hello there Mitch! I really did enjoy this video. I just left Tbilisi in Georgia after having been there for 6 - 7 months. I am now in Riga in Latvia and next week I will be in the UK. And since I am a Norwegian I will visit Norway one week later. But then I am coming back to Tbilisi a bit later. Have often thought of visiting Yerevan and sort of decided to do this next time I am back in Tbilisi at which point it would have been great if we could connect? This link will give you all the information you need regarding visas; www.australia.com/en/facts-and-planning/useful-tips/visa-customs-and-quarantine-faq.html Each State in Australia has advantages and disadvantages for long term tourists. If you want to work as a waitress or fruit picker etc, you can find work anywhere...according to the season...but be careful! It's best if you have a relative of friend you can stay with, or at least offer you some advance on where to stay. It's not cheap to live in Australia either...rent is quite high, unless you can share with others. But again, you need to be careful who you choose to live with. Australia is NOT Armenia! Wow what a timely video to have bumped into. We have been thinking of making the move from Canada to Armenia since 2020. Then covid hit and we stopped thinking about it. Just 2 days ago the Lord put this back in our hearts, much stronger than the first time, and we are planning to visit Armenia in September of this year. @Annie...actually, we won't receive the Aussie pension even when we become eligible for it (we'd also have to return to Oz to apply for it and live in Oz for a specified period), as there's no reciprocal agreement between the 2 countries! However, you're right about the Aussie pension being more than the average monthly wage in Armenia. Surly what you relate about having a connection to a land, people and God resonates deeply with many, and now more than ever in a time of spiritual floods upon humanity. Many years ago I felt a connection to Australia and the people, who at the time seemed to retain more of the humanity that was being lost in America and much of Europe, so much so I was making plans to move to Australia which were interrupted for several years. When I re-kindled those plans friends in Australia cautioned that it was quickly becoming a different country in ways I cautioned my friends and others in Australia that could befall Australia if people abandoned what made the country and people remarkable and unique in favor of some illusory tale of a superior way peddled by political con-men who had ruined life for people on other shores. What you relate Mitch about what motivated you to follow your hearts and leave Australia for a place with more humanity seems one not to regret but appreciate. What you relate from your hearts echos timeless truth: "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." To be guided along the path less traveled it might seem we need to pay attention to an inner spirit that will guide us if we open our hearts to being guided. Many of us around the world, now more than ever are inclined to pay attention two what is on our hearts as you did, and find inspiration from the path you have embarked on, and are inspired to join you on it, and receive the blessings that accompany that path.

After spending more than 10 years in different churches with vastly different doctrines, a providential meeting with a wise old man changed everything for me: He tried to get me to summarise the Christian faith and what God wants from His children. You know, I was saying things like being holy, obeying the commandments (all 10 of them), but in a kind of legal sense. Without me realising it, I had become a slave to man's various doctrines and failed to see the simple picture he presented me with: His message was simple and profound... "To love God with all my heart, mind, soul and strength and my neighbour as myself." It is not in the knowing, but in the doing that we become aware of God's presence and His Holy Spirit working through us. This revelation was both a devastating blow to my ego and an epiphany at the same time. I see so many people trying to find God through various doctrines and churches...and many become disillusioned after a time...not in all cases of course, but in a lot of! I do not have all the answers, but God does and by His grace I found His love, by trying to love others as myself. @KolFlyir...Sorry it's taken so long for me to reply...I'm just going through all our videos and noticing who I haven't responded to. it's difficult for me to answer your question, but Armenians are generally not judgemental people. Obviously, we still carry the scars from the Genocide, so if you know that and are a kind hearted person, I think you'll be ok. If you only speak Turkish, that may pose a problem. Be wise and if you feel a strong urge to come, then come.

I can so relate to what you said about Australia (the westernized world in general) being a cold place. I see no real future in my country (Norhern Europe). I know the situation in Australia is turning real bad too as I've actually watched a lot of news from over there lately. It's hard to be a Christian here. Can I ask what denomination you are? Would it be hard for an evangelical Christian to find a community in Armenia? I'm interested because we have a big population of Armenians in Scandinavia and most of them seem to subscribe to the native Orthodox church. God bless and take care

@Gabe H Cuod...thank you for your comments regarding the current state of the western world. Yes, it's difficult to be a Christian anywhere at the moment, because the 'world' has another god..."the god of self!" My wife and I are Orthodox Christians, but it's a term I don't like to use much as Orthodoxy, in general, is misunderstood by many. We try to live our lives as taught in the Holy Scriptures and according to the teachings of the Armenian Apostolic Church, which are essentially the same as all the other Orthodox Churches...where Christ is glorified as Our Lord and Saviour...the Son of God, the Logos! Yes, there are Evangelical churches here in Armenia, but I would avoid many of them as they are quite heavily westernised...and that's just not a good recipe for Armenians. However, there is a very good one called the 'Evangelical Church of Armenia', which does a lot of good work. If you google it, you'll find all about their history. I understand your concern about Scandinavian Armenians and their native church. However, as I said before, Orthodoxy is deeply misunderstood. In fact the term 'orthodox' simply means 'right teaching'. Orthodox churches maintain the same doctrines as taught by Christ and His Apostles. The great problem in a lot of Orthodox Churches is the lack of spiritual teaching, so a lot of people remain ignorant of so many precious and beautiful teachings. But Orthodoxy in general, is all about "living our Christian faith". It is a daily experience of God, whereas a lot of Evangelical churches focus on 'salvation' being the end of all things. In fact, salvation, as understood by the Orthodox Church, is a life long process. That's an over-simplification and one that you probably wouldn't agree with. I know something about this subject as I converted to Orthodoxy after spending many years in several different Protestant and Evangelical churches.
