The Hierophant is my life path card as well. I do see the Hierophant as a teacher, wise one, wisdom keeper. I like my Hierophants to feel as if they welcome all questions and are prepared to learn as well as teach. I liked your choices very much as well as what you were saying about the teacher sitting level with their students. The Gaian tarot is one of my favorites as well. Another favorite is from the Spacious Tarot, showing a stone circle a place where wisdom might have been shared. Steeped in knowledge and nature, ancient wisdom.

Appreciated you sharing some of your struggles with this card -- I know many of us, self included, bring some of those experiences of being pressured into religious frameworks we didn't fit in. ❤ I do like the Hierophant-as-teacher interpretation and often gravitate to those kind of images. Sometimes in a reading for me Hierophant can absolutely show up as that repressive, restrictive, traumatic experiences of religion -- they still impact me, no doubt -- but often Hierophant appears also as engaging with spiritual tradition in a more neutral or positive way.

Yes, my experience has been pretty exactly in lines with what you said above, Laura! With both the Emperor and Hierophant, it comes down to the context of a reading and the questions myself and my sitters pose to the cards. While not too frequent (but more often than I ever expected), the people I read for come to me with the questions about religion, their spiritual path; trauma, conformity and repression they have experienced and/or raise their questions around. So interesting to learn about your childhood Mascha.. I cant imagine being pushed into religion. My parents sent me to a very Christian Sunday school when i was small but I think it was more to give them a peaceful Sunday morning cuddle 😂🤣 I loved your choices, I too have to see the hierophant as a teacher and wise spiritual person.. the religious aspect means nothing to me.. I will have a go at this next week.. not my favourite card so will be interesting 🤔 ❤

It's a shame that your early years of religion was not a pleasurable one. I never think it's a good idea for our guardians to try and influence us with their focus in life . . . BUT I guess it was there way as it was more than likely it was the way it was introduced to them . . . I did smile at your "Life Path" number 🫣 (Mine is 11) I love how you''ve turned it around to focus on Knowledge - to teaching as it's aspects ❤ You're a great teacher and I love learning - hence I love watching your channel . . . 1. Everyday Witch - Had to be 😉 2. The Abyss doesn't feature in my collection - but I do like the "Wise One" 3. The Elder - Until you pointed it out - I was looking at the tree as the "Elder" - Once you talked about the card more - I still looked at the tree as the Elder. (But I love Trees!) 4 . The Teacher - Loved the way - you've themed these selection 👏 I love the quote that I use "When the Student is ready, the teacher will appear" 🙏🏻 5. My feelings are similar. I reconciled my feelings with the pope (as well as the emperor and empress) from my life as an activist. These 3 cards I don’t like play formidable roles in our everyday lives even if we don’t believe in the ruling religions. As a result I’ve come to like a traditional depiction of these cards for all the ways the inform me of social views, hierarchy and politics and “morality” at play.

Yes, even though in the beginning I struggled, these days I came to like and appreciate the traditional depictions of the Empress, Emperor and Hierophant. For most part, based on the context and the questions my sitters ask, these cards don't carry political connotations; but sometimes they do and not always being comfortable (while can be challenging) can be necessary too, I think.

Lovely selection of cards! I wonder if your hesitation to being a teacher was to the idea of dictating to others rather than sharing with others. When you discovered that being a teacher is an interaction that teaches you as well, maybe it clicked. So perhaps the Hierophant as your birth card suggests that learning the difference will have been important in your life. I guess I don't have an issue with any religion as long as it doesn't dictate that it knows the "one truth" that everybody has to follow. That's where the danger lies! (I'm taking a break from my channel right now so may not do VRs to you for a bit, but I'll get back to it!). Take care.💚

I’ll miss you, and I hope you’ll be back soon. 😘🤗 Yeah, in regard to beginning to teach, I never felt it would be like dictating, as I had many amazing teachers who (to this days) are my role models of sorts. I think it was more of having responsibility for the students and with that a fear of failing them.. and then I at that time wasn’t a fan of public speaking.. I need to ponder more on that..
