I just found this channel 4 days ago and I've watched 5 episodes so far. I can honestly say that not one episode has been a waste of my time. I'm still shocked by how God led me to your channel and continues to speak to me and confirm things through the both of you! I'm so grateful. May God bless you both and continue to sustain your marriage and ministry ❤️🙏

Funny you say this I found this podcast last Sunday and have been watching every episode with my boyfriend . What’s even more heaven sent is I been asking God to prepare me for being a wife and this was the first podcast I found and has been so informative . Thank you guys for your obedience in this ministry .

I love how Tabatha broke that Adam and Eve story. ❤ 👏🏽👏🏽 Come on now!! We don’t have a lot of men as leaders, not even in the church. So many broken homes because men are not playing the role of a man. I’m glad you guys touched on this. ❤️ (carry on) 👏🏽 whew

Just in my role in 2024. As a woman, I carry a lot of stress. A lot of pressure from work. I have to take off my work hat and put on my house role and work in the house. I need time to decompress. I don't want to talk or be talked to. I need 30 mins to get into wife mindset. Most black women I know work in high positions, pay half the bills, but are still keeping all their traditional roles in the house of cooking and cleaning. A lot of men are not pressured to keep their traditional roles but women are. (I'm not even talking about menstruation days. That's a whole other videos. Lol!) I think men can easily deplete women and not get it. Just my opinion

#2 is the biggest issue for me and every woman I know …it’s difficult because a lot of men are just not mentally and emotionally prepared to lead …they lack confidence and knowledge even when placed in the role they often shrivel. This manifests in cheating, abusive behavior, and financial irresponsibility forcing the woman back into the leadership and therapist role. 😢

I am in agreement!! Amen!!! I feel like our society is hard on men. I feel that women really need to know what men go through on a daily basis. There are things that husbands don’t necessarily outwardly discuss or share with their wives. A wife can tear a husband down in an instant and not even know they have disrespected their husband. I have learned (the hard way) that men feel loved when their wives respect them! Who knew? God had to show me this! I’m SOOO glad God brought your podcast across my computer screen!!!!🙏🙏❤️

10:50 I just love watching these! I think sometimes we put too much emphasis on love languages according to the book and test. I believe all of the love languages matter and have an impact. With the ones we score high in, those are just the most important so if that language isn’t being met then it almost invalidates the others. But we need them all. So if your predominant life language is gifts but you also value quality time, you can get all the quality time in the world but it doesn’t hold as much weight if you aren’t receiving gifts. How ever if the needs for receiving gifts is met, the value for quality time is still there and when a person gets the quality time it means so much more as long as the need for receiving gifts is also being met.

31:27 About the 4th point. When a woman gets vulnerable and expresses her hurt and frustrations, as a man please don't be too quick to respond with a solution. It really hurts us. Men might automatically respond with a solution due to how they're wired as men. But as women we're wired different. We just need you to listen. Most of the time we already have figured out the solution. We just need a shoulder to lean on, a safe space to vent. Just being present emotionally...

I agree that the man should take the lead. Women can lead and often do it when they do not trust the man’s decision making skills or he has not demonstrated his ability to lead. When that trust is developed that the man will make smart decisions in the best interest of the family women will follow the man’s lead.

Let me add to point 4. God built us to not only nurture but speak like into our man and family and we do that with our emotions. We are encouragers by nature, we are sensitive to the feelings of others, and can pick up on emotions (negative and positive) with anyone. We are in tune with the feelings of life. Men are yes but not on the same level. For example, as a kid, if one of my fingers would have fallen off my mother would first of all calm me down then say “let’s go get it put back on”…all while being calm. We know the power emotions can bring. Tabatha mentioned pms…some women, like myself, have pmdd-deeper level of pms. Where I go to deep places of grief and darkness a few days before I start and just cry…a lot. Its all hormone related too. Women are built to carry physical pain better as well. Childbirth is no walk in the park and I can’t tell you how many men have told me they were hypercondriacs. Women can be too but we will cry over an aspca commercial before a broken bone any day of the week. God built us differently and in a fabulous, strong, burden sharing, supportive, sacrificing, understanding, empathizing, nurturing, and loving kind of way. Fuel for us would be for a man to recognize those things in us and help to elevate us in it.

@Doinglifewithkenandtabatha I took notes, and you better believe I will be studying! I need this to move from my head, to my heart, to my framework so it's on autopilot. To see a wife say "I can't think of anything you can do to treat me better," seem surreal, but I believe that is because visible examples couples effectively doing marriage God's way are not a common. Which makes me all the more grateful for the example that you are. So, thank you!

I appreciate these videos, they're a great blessing to me and many others. But I must correct something that Tabatha said about Adam and Eve! We wouldn't want anyone to get a wrong understanding of scripture. Tabatha mentioned and I'm paraphrasing, that Adam was supposed to tell Eve about the command God gave him in regards to eating the fruit. But because Adam failed to tell her, Eve took the fruit. Putting the blame on Adam for not leading Eve properly. According to Genesis 3:1 satan said to Eve; "Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?" This implies that God also told Eve not to eat of the tree. Eve knew not to eat of the tree, but she rebelled anyway. This is why Paul said in 1 Timothy 2:13-14 "For God made Adam first, and afterward he made Eve. [14] And it was not Adam who was deceived by Satan. The woman was deceived, and sin was the result."

This video was so fun just to sit back & see another woman explain exactly how it is. I love the insight you two bring to the Christian community and reinforcing biblical values. I want to add that being emotional as women does not equate to logic as a man. It’s so important for men to just listen to what women are FEELING even if in the male mind it isn’t logical. We’re hardwired to feel and most of the time we don’t necessarily need help navigating it (9/10 we know how to handle it) but rather just an ear to listen while we figure it out ourselves.

When it comes to relationships, does age matter? Also, I've been separated for over 7 years. I'm definitely not going back . Is it OK to have a friend or companion 🤔. Definitely NO BENEFITS. Just someone to talk to, pray with, and go out with once every blue moon. I am very cautious in asking for a phone number or even going out except with my son or family. They're my comfort zone.
