For me first up were the hideous wood panels which I covered up with carbon fibre. Bluetooth and wifi sometimes just don't work specially after updates. The phanthom braking also a pain which must be a great selling point for the fsd. Range is accurate but only in granny mode with no ac no heating no highways no funny stuff.

The mirage breaking is interesting. I never heard on any other channel. So it’s not so “phantom breaking” after all. Please always include in your video the exact software version, because most of your issues can be solved with future updates.

That’s what seemed to be happening in our situation. I wonder if there are other phantom braking situations also. Good idea on mentioning the software version! I’m not sure what the version was at the time but it was June of 2023 for the trip to Canada where we encountered the mirage issue.

I wish Tesla would offer a toggle switch for TACC (Traffic-Aware Cruise Control). That would turn Autopilot into "dumb" cruise control, with no braking or other control. That would eliminate the phantom braking issue. Right now, my wife and I won't even use Autopilot in fear of brake-checking cars behind us.

I wish I had an image to share. It happened on lighter color highways on that road trip so luckily haven’t had it happen in a while. But there are lots of posts about “phantom braking” and my theory is one cause is the heat-wave mirage. Google heat-wave road mirage to see some examples.

Great review update! kinda still buggin' over the mirage sitch! 🙈 #scary I do think I speak for the KZbin community when I say we'd all appreciate some solid examples of how voice-to-text went wrong by sending the wrong text to the wrong people! I have a Y and some things i hate.. i have some delaminating and splitting vinyl on the grab handle (tesla said its my fault for using "lotions" on my hands when I never use that stuff so then they told me i used a hard cleaner on it which i havent... and the damn car should be able to handle things like that... every other car ive ever had can). It takes 5 minutes to connect to my car thru phone app no matter where the car is parked or where I am.. so now i never even bother preheating it (tesla said this is my phones fault even tho ive used 3 different samsungs over the last 2 years with it) and one a week it wont even recognize the blue tooth and unlock my car for me. I turn the bluetooth on and off in my phone and also reboot the phone, it still wont work.. and this too is my phones fault according to tesla. Also, in the cold winter once in a while it starts blowing cold air.. tesla said its snow and ice on the coils.. that makes no sense because if i turn the heat up by 3 or 4 degrees the heat suddenly comes back... if it was the coils blocked with ice there would be no heat to be found. Another, if the windows are being rolled up and i hit a little bump they reverse and start going down. I live in canada the roads are crap everywhere.. so im pulling on the close window buttons over and over and over as the windows go up and down up and down. Again, telsa said no issues even tho i see loads of people complaining about it online. There are a slew of other issues i have with the driving software doing dumb stuff and the UI in general .. my heated seat is broken and probably always was... the bottom part wont heat and even on low the back part burns me so much i have to turn it off. The center mirror flops around a littte... yes you guessed it, that too is my fault somehow.. the buttons at the back to release the seats one of them flops around lose even tho Ive never actually touch them before.. only discovered that a month ago when i actually noticed they were there and used them to see what they did.. again.. my fault!

@@mattycars 2022 ive had it for nearly 2 years now. Yup.. lots of little things that all add up to be a constant annoyance. The worst part of it all is having Tesla constantly tell me its my fault in one way or another. Just this morning after going to coffee shop was sitting in the car with my landlord having our coffee and bam.. cold air air suddenly starts blowing (and its cold out here) so I up the temp from 21c to 23c and instantly I get hot air coming out... so its not frozen over coils blocking air flow through them like they keep telling me

I get at least 250+ even in the cold with my 2020. It's only an estimate based on assumptions that are probably over optimistic

That’s a good range! So much of it depends on how I drive it-I’m pretty aggressive most of the time with the throttle ;) But in a ICE vehicle the range seems to be +/- 5% no matter how I drive. But the Tesla is +/- 30% It’s just a much larger variance and I’ve never come close to the top end indicated.. I agree with the overly optimistic to push the number higher. I’ve heard Kia claim their ranges are more realistic-haven’t tested to verify yet :)
