I just bought a 2016 and was worried when I saw the title of this thinking "oh no, what did I do?" But if this is the worse you can come up with then I made a good choice. Back window thing, they are all like that. My 2012 had the tailgate step, wish my 2016 did. Buy a pair of gloves for fueling. No digital speedometer? It's a work vehicle, not a Mercedes.

Like i said these are good problems to have. And I agree its a utility vehicle that why i purchased it, i have 10 acres to tend to. But when you are talking about trucks that are $60k+, yes we are now in the Mercedes price range. When you live in an area where cops are relentless and will pull you over for going 1-2 mph over the limit. Its good to have a digital read out to know your exact speed. So you be aware or to politely defend yourself . Thanks for watching!

Get to the point!.... 3 mins of content in a 21 min video. Only legit claim is the wheel liners. But you could also say the lack of a bed liner or toggled rear bed light (using top brake light)..... but seriously, just stick to the content and not run off on tangents.

SixtySix any 4 door vehicle will have that type of pressure if you only open the rear windows and keep the front windows closed, I know I have had 10 and every single one of them did that, from Chrysler to GMC to Jeep to Dodge to F150 to explorer to Mazda , I don't think that qualifies as a legit complaint, the speedometer... My truck has the analog but you can also setup the digital display, not sure if the super duty has it in your model year but my old 2013 had it so I don't see yours being without, the laggy response....they updated their software so it works just fine, maybe you need to look into that....no truck is ever going to be perfect, even if you mod it ....you can get it closer though. Still a great truck which is why more people are switching to Ford.

I have a '15 and I just crack my rear slide window about a quarter open to get rid of the wind buffeting. My gripe about the truck is that there isn't a DEF gauge, or a DPF percentage screen. When the truck goes through the DPF re-gen, there should be a screen that has the percentage of completion, how many more miles until it starts the re-gen, and you should have an option to postpone a re-gen if need be. The truck should come with a damn sway bar also, or a four link rear end.

The only legitimate gripe here is the wheel liners... should’ve paid more attention to the truck on the lot and made the dealer throw them in for free. As far as percussion goes if you’d just crack the rear sliding glass it will solve that problem. Every crew cab truck is like that. Square windows... #5, just know your truck

the company has two 16' powerstrokes and the guys just love there trucks. You have really good points on the truck. We also have 15' chevy duramax and 18' cummins aisin. Wife and I like the ford the best because of the ride comfort and all around truck feel. was going to buy a 17' powerstroke, but I like the old body style better, it brings good memories of my dads old 00' powerstroke and 02' powerstroke that were both very good trucks. I feel the 16' powerstroke is the best truck to date one can buy, because of the steel body and old school ford looks, that has been lost in the newer trucks.
@JohnFrancoNH
@JohnFrancoNH 6 жыл бұрын
I agree with you on the pre-17' gen having a more classic Ford look. Its a great looking truck no matter what angle you view it at. I also like the fact the that the standard bed is a little bit longer then 6.5'. Bed size is very important to me. I was on the fence when i bought it because the 17' were just started being offered. But i got a great deal on the 16' so i decided to jump on it. That was the only fully loaded FX4 crew cab the dealer had. Ford was not producing anymore 16' at that time either. I wish i went with the Platinum. The grille is so striking. Thanks for watching!

when we got the 16' powerstroke-lariat in feb of 17' the new powerstrokes were out and selling fast. I went to test drive one and the saleman couldn't find the keys to the 17' powerstroke. I took it at a sign not to buy one. the specs of the 17's fords are great, but can one trust the new design after 100,000 miles with the mass increase of torq and horsepower. also heard you can't put lumber racks on the aluminum bed with a lot of weight loaded on the racks and we use lumber racks to haul rebar-lumber. also like using magnetic business signs. I want to like the 17' powerstrokes, but just can't buy one. If you take care of a 16' powerstroke, I truly believe they will run 300,000 miles with very few problems, with all the research I have done.

Pulsating from windows happens with the GMC Denali also. 2017 Denali, 2018 Platinum and 2017 Lariot all do it. Not sure about the Dodge (cause I would never own one...LOL). Just do me a favor and clean the suction cup marks on your driver side window! Got that annoys me . lol Only dislike I have with the Super Duty compared to the Denali is at 90 miles an hour, the Denali is SOLID! The F350 Platinum drifts a bit on its own. Other than that, Super Duty is awesome!!!

The buffeting from the rear windows is very common. I own a sienna mini van that does it a 13 Jeep and a 16 super duty. They all do it. I think the Jeep does is the loudest.

Hi Luke, yes i agree all vehicles have buffeting to some degree but in this truck it is so much more prominent. Ive owned a jeep grand cherokee in the past and never had buffeting as bad as my f250. It must be linked to large roomer cabins have a greater potential for buffeting noise. Thanks for watching!

If you crack your front windows an inch it will probably go away. My Jeep Patriot does this if you open the sunroof. It's even mentioned in the owner's manual. It sounds like you're in a science fiction movie. Just give the trapped air somewhere to escape and you're golden. I'd blame it on physics, not Ford. Ya, the wheel well thing is annoying. My 2013 f-250 is the same. It's still mint underneath, though. I keep saying I'm going to buy liners but I never do, and frankly, it doesn't appear to be a necessity.

The window thing happens to every car or truck just about. The rear wheel liners should be a trim package item, for 60k I agree... Standard! But for an XL fleet truck that's gonna get a body why put them there. Digital Speedo really minor I agree, but at your price point,⏫ My switches feel fine on my wheel, not as in opinion, but as in the feeling of beefy-ness. My mother had the heated seats in the screen on her FLEX. I hate it too! I like actual switches and analog dials.

Every 4 door car or truck does that when you roll the windows down!! Is this the first vehicle you’ve rolled the rear windows down on?!? As for the wheel liners, that’s for people that actually use their truck. You can’t have the liners and a B&W turnover hitch in the bed as it would cover up the handle that releases the gooseneck ball.

Sounds to me you are very particular and deserve a Chrysler/Ram product.. But you're right,, at 60K$+, you should get more for your money... Just curious, how was the reliability of the Ram trucks you had? I've owned a 2016 F-250 SD-XLT 6.2L purchased new, I have about 100K miles on it now. This is my daily work truck, so it's loaded all the time. I have had no problems with it at all (knock on wood!) except it blew a water pump at 30K miles, covered under warrantee,. Regular maintenance, that's all.. I'm pretty happy with it to date in 2023,, for an 8yr old truck surviving Maine Winters?, still solid with minimal rust,, I really can't complain.. 13mpg no matter how I drive it is the only bummer, but then again, that's what you get with a heavy, powerful workhorse of a truck... ~Best

Now I have a personal question, the surroundings kind of look like my state, would you for any reason be from Massachusetts? Waiting on your reply, keep up the good work

@johnfranco I personally belive that car manufacturers purposely build vehicles with these minor flaws (like the not so flat tailgate) so they have things to come out with that make the future years better and make you want to consider buying. For eample: "oh wow that tail gate step would be awsome, I want to get that," and now everyone goes out and buys it and likes it but has complaints. Now next year it's a flat tailgate and everyone wants it because they liked it and now doesn't have that obvious imperfection ford knew it would have. Ford obviously knew because when you showed that tailgate, first thing I envisioned was sliding something heavy over it into the bed of my truck.. I'm not big on commenting on KZbin videos but just wanted to leave my opinion. 2010 Ford ranger owner here as I always like the manual 5 spd tranny option but looking into buying a newer Ford for the space as im 6,2" and decided It's time to sit comfy as I do alot of driving. Great video👍 and thanks for the info! Also just wondering if you have an opinion on the 2019's??

@JohnFrancoNH
@JohnFrancoNH 6 жыл бұрын
I figured the front window trick long time ago. But the whole point is to have the front windows up. And be comfortable. That way there is a barrier between you and whats outside. So you dont have to listen to the direct blast of deafening road noise, exhaust brakes, etc. while on the highway or in other high traffic areas. Maybe im just over sensory or something. Thanks for watching!
@BreakerBreaker1320
@BreakerBreaker1320 5 жыл бұрын
The “buffeting” (buffering is a term used for digital processing) is a basic science of differing atmospheric pressures from the cabin and exterior. The wind shear (in the shear layer when wind passes over the vehicle) increases over the openings causes an acoustic boom “buffeting” the differing pressures until one overcomes the other like opening or cracking the front window an inch. When you crack the front window, pressure is reduced in the cabin thus eliminating the buffeting acoustic waves. This can be a fun kids exercise by taking a beer bottle and blowing across the mouth and creating the same buffeting sound that can be altered as you reduce the contents of the bottle and make some music...LOL...it’s literally the same thing on a smaller scale. Manufacturers do not test for this but some vent shades can help to allow a cracked window for noise and for rain.

Why did you go into cop hating. They do not set your speed limit on your roads the City planning engineer does that and it’s based on residential and commercial housing in close proximity of the roadway, up hill or down hill speeds and curves in the road. The Police are doing exactly what the citizens of your community pay them to do and one of the duty’s is traffic control. Then you say you beat a traffic offense that you admitted to.
