Boy it's weird how it took them nearly an entire year to have *a* satisfying loot system, but that sure is the theme of the season anyway. They actually made Obols useful outside of random garbage loot rolls from before, they hyper consolidated potion mats so you don't need to tediously hunt down random plants to have a decent stock of them, desynthing legendaries not only putting their affix in the codex instead of a one-time override AND being able to get higher ranks to slap in the codex if you got a better roll *AND* armor gem effects being direct stats to help inflate your main stat or offset paragon conditions and so on. And I picked a damn good time to do minion necro since I was down to Necro and Druid on "classes I never leveled to at least 50 yet" because I hear going minionless used to be better and now it's actually good to run with them, so I'm at least running standard minions without golem because god I hate it's a second button to summon a golem, so screw it, attack speed buff instead. Oh, and they took the Season 2 gimmick of "green Helltides" being better than regular Helltides and just...fusing them together to make regular Helltide just plain fun and early-game accessible. They actually did good this season for early game.

If you look at when Rob F took over Diablo to when D4 released it was like 18 months or something. It's pretty clear they launched with an MVP (minimum viable product) based on that reboot. 1 year on is basically the game reaching its proper released. Obv this is no excuse, but as a person in software this was super super clear to me at the end of beta / early launch. The thing is, as a single player experience and as an experience getting through the capstone dungeons, the launch game was very fun and definitely a spectacle. It was also fun to get all the classes to 70 or so. I think they really should have focused on launch being a single player box product and explicitly called the endgame "alpha/beta/tbd".

The best use of your obols is to buy a new weapon when you change to WT3 and WT4. You can skip almost all of the problems of transitioning to the new world tier by grabbing a sacred or ancestral weapon right away.

​@Gor3osrs the items available at vendors are upgraded from world tier 3 and up. On world tier 3 you'll start finding sacred variants of weapons, which are massively batter than gear of the same level/rarity from world tier 2

Just go to the helltides summoning stones. Wait for other players. Put a stone in and kill stuff there. Every time the demons spawns he drops a leggo. You can easily farm 1000 cinders per tide. 5 min befor the tide ends, run around and collect chests.

Yeah, that is where I spent most of my time. I would add not to wait till the 5min if you are getting one shot by the maiden, but other than that it's a solid farm.

I was playing Necro minion with one hand while holding a new born in the other last night and made it to lvl 50 in 4 hours with just CE as my attack ability. Dont open the Races of the Maiden item till your 70+ so you can potentially get something really nice that you wont out-level in an hour.

@@parzival5884 ive been playing an hour a night since the season started and got to 97.5 last night. still playing 90% one-handed. Just do hell tides, cast your curse on the mobs, your minions run to them and kill them and you run around and pick up cinders. I got a ring of madaline and that auto casts summon minion, tendrels and something else, its very handy. focus on getting gear that has max life and max INT and then when tempering go for summoning damage and resistance so you are 70% resist all. then as your playing start putting gear aside that is more specific in nature to your lvl 100 build.

No, no his first tip to open boxed as you get cinders is wayyyyy wrong. Collect till 5 min left then open all you can. Reason being your prob going to level in the helltide, if you open as you go ur hurting your gear chance I tems will drop at your level! So wait till the 5 min mark

I've thought about it and I still hold to opening them right away. You can quick gear in early game, so I just hit the chest and if I get anything better, I put it on. The better gear speeds up my clears and get me more chests. At worst it's a wash and I enjoy it more.

Id save the unique drops item for later game when your 60-70 when you start to fight the bosses so you have those unique powers then, you open those at level 30 the item will be underpowered really quick

That is true, but the cost still isn't very much. I ended up just tempering for more damage on my weapon from time to time and then when I was about to hit a capstone dungeon I would temper everything!

It is actually definitely worth tempering early, yes you replace quickly but tempering is powerful and cheap but at least fully temper a set at 33-34 and go do capstone super easy and again at 53-54

Entirely disagree. The helltides scale to your lvl in t2 so if you cook the shit out of your build at lvl 20’you melt bosses that others are struggling to kill. I’ve got 3 hardcore seasonal to 50+ , I gotta have backups just in case I die in a rift dungeon

The seasonal elixirs only give 6% normal elixirs with the max urn. They give 8% so later on if ur going for just exp normal elixirs are 2% higher. But early game with out urn points seasonal elixirs are better

The Urn of Aggression does not give you a boost to xp at any Tier , check your stat list , I don`t know why it is there at all . If it does , then the US and the European version of the game are different . It says that the extra is included in the already 50% you get from start + 5 % from an ordinary potion but the Urn of aggression + isn`t there .

If you break things down at the blacksmith. The aspects on the legendaries will go to the codex if it is better than what you already have in the codex (there is a symbol in the top right corner that show if its better than what you have), but the uniques are just gone! So, generally place uniques in your stash until you get a better roll and then you can break those down for parts.

It's really cheap in early game. I wouldn't obsess about making sure everything is tempered, but whenever you feel like it go for it. It is nice to do right before jumping into the cap stones.

Not worth it. I'm now opening them right before doing the cap stones and then whenever there are 2 or 3 to open in world tier 4. Holding does not work well and if you get it wrong all the gear is junk. So, I usually am opening the chest around 35 in wt2 and doing the capstone somewhere between 35 and 40. Then in wt3 I open them around 55 and do the capstone between 55 and 60.

I still don't have complete confirmation on if you hold on to the cache that they will scale. I do think at this point that if you wait to open in higher world tiers before picking them up, they definitely are scaling to sacred and ancestral. I don't know if they put any other limiters to stop how high the item can be. I don't know think it's going to matter that much by endgame. Before I left wt2, I had also found 4 other uniques beyond those 2 and I know the drop rates go up a lot in wt3&4

I think we are going to see a lot more uniques this season. The world tier seems to affect if they drop as sacred or ancestral but I have no idea if there is a cap. If you haven’t done so before, unlock all Altars of Lilith around the open world and finish the main campaign first, then complete all renown for all regions, unlock all waypoints and complete all strongholds. That will put you in the strongest position for this season and any future seasons

I like this video. Short and informative. I just started playing last season, got a sorceress to level 97. Hopefully get level 100 this season. Chain lightning was fun for the story quest, but bossing was hard. Finally got the uniques for the meteor and then it was fun again. Hardest part of starting season 4 for me is choosing a class. Thinking druid or necromancer but also I've seen barbarians kill bosses in 1 hit which seems fun.

I'm fairly new to Diablo but I have a LVL 78 necromancer that's in the eternal realm. From what I'm reading I can't play the new seasonal content with that character? Am I missing something? Why do I have to completely start over on a new character?

The way diablo has always worked is every couple months a new season comes out with seasonal gameplay elements and to play those things you are required to restart a new character.

Which is kind of sucky for some people who aren't able to play very much but this season is very forgiving and easy to level quickly it might be worth trying to run a new character to see if you enjoy it :)

Yeah, you do have to start a new character for each season. I think its to create a new level playing field. There are games that don't ever reset and it makes it almost impossible for new players to feel they even have a chance. You can just keep building your character in eternal, most of the changes in this season are fundamental mechanic changes and they have also been upgraded in eternal. The only thing you really miss is the Iron Wolves quest line, which if its like most seasons can be completed i think 5-10hrs. So, you can always jump in skip the campaign and just do the Iron Wolves and then get back to your main. Hopefully, that helps.

Do the rewards from the Iron Wolves and from the seasonal challenges scale with your level? Should I be holding onto those rewards until I get to WT4 so I can get a quick boost in gear or should I use them as soon as I get them?

I'm really not sure. I've been just using them for the boost. I think there is going to be so much gear in endgame this season that it won't make that big of a difference by the time you get there. That being said, I do want to test it with my next character. I'm super curious now!

There may be a connection to world tier. I had unlocked iron wolves level 9 on wt2 and waited to pick it up until wt3 and it dropped all sacreds. So, there might be something to holding them or at least picking them up in new world tiers.

They do scale with level, I've claimed but not opened the unique boxes and waiting until level 100 as I've opened the legendary ones at level 55 and they're dropping level 55 stuff, up to you though if you want an early boost or not but I'm finding legendaries and sacreds are dropping like candy so its kinda pointless opening them early unless you have terrible luck with drops.

Next day it wouldn’t let me use that character for season 4. I started a new character and it said skip campaign or go to campaign. I chose to skip. Now I’m level 31 playing helltides.

I think it's a wash either way. If you enjoy the power early go for it. There will be more unique caches as you progress. On the other hand you level so fast this season it's not hard to wait and get a boost in endgame.

You might be able to. I did capstone at 43 and it was crazy easy! Just temper whatever you can before you go.

I'm playing a minion necro, got an issue... I have raise skel, Golem, Army of the Dead, Decrepify, Corpse Tendrils, and Bone Prison. Rarely, but often enough, I run into either a blockade or object I need to break, like the wretched soul piles in helltide, that I can't target (I'm on console) The only thing that works is bone prison when its off cooldown and with no enemies around. Anybody got a solution to this? There's another build that's almost exactly the same but with Blight instead of Prison that I might switch to just to have an "attack"

If the prison isn't crucial for your build or playstyle, I think blight is a solid choice.

I went corpse and it's still annoying, you should be able to use the golem if you use the blood one early you just don't have it

Sadly d4 was dumb with keybinds it should have done what d2r did where left trigger opens a alternate buttons so holding left then pushing something does another ability

There is a new unique chest armor, Tyreal's Might, that gives you the power to shoot holy bolts while at full life. I haven't found one yet though.

A lot of people would love that but I think it would make it hard for new players to come in and compete with players that have been building since the beginning. So, seasons reset the playing field.

Financially, I think the game is doing fine and will for years. Even with all the hate, blizzard has a cash cow. I also think that a lot of streamers made bank on the hate train.

you all of sudden popped up on my feed, so ive watched a couple of your videos and I'm sorry but as someone who played the ptr extensively I still don't think the game is very good. They didn't make the loot system any less borimg they just made it less annoying to interact with, its streamlined not interesting.
