Fully agree on the pricing point, the right customer for you is one who's willing to buy at the price you set, not the one who's gonna complain about it.

I just had a really great market after 2 really bad ones, and it was the second market I’ve done where not a single person questioned my prices. A lot of people followed my socials because they couldn’t afford my products, but a follow is still HUGE for my business. I’m still riding that high from a couple of days ago 😂

Congrats!! I'm learning that every market is different, too. After several markets of not selling a single plush, suddenly more than five of them got snatched up at a single market lol. And follows are just as important as sales when you're starting out!

Hi Camryn, I stumbled across your channel because my wife has "urged" me to start participating in craft fairs and farmers markets to sell my 3d printed items along with my Etsy shop. Although my stuff has nothing to do with crocheting, it can still be transferred into my niche. I love your content and your energy. Thank you.

This video came at the perfect time! I did my first market last night, and I learned so many things. I kept your videos in mind to help with these lessons. First, it's important to try to do shows where your target person will be. Mine wasn't at the show last night. I sold a few things, but not many. I make products primarily for younger families, and last night, there were a lot of single people with no kids. And that's ok. Second, I learned how to set up my booth, what looked good from a display standpoint. I also had practice talking to people who came to my booth (introvert here, lol). Excited to try another show as I keep growing my business!

Camryn, I'm not new to my business, but I still found this video really insightful. I agree with basically all these tips. I think the biggest tip that I still struggle with is how to set up my booth.I've been changing it some recently. I realized spring and summer shows are not for me. I do mostly wearables with knit and crochet, and I do some decorative needle feltings, and I just do so much better in the fall and winter. The other tip I wish I knew more about was how to set up a website for my business. There's a lot of options and it's difficult to know the best one for me. I am planing on amping up my social media presence and taking the plunge *gulp I'm scared" into starting a youtube channel. I just find you super sweet and helpful. I love watching your videos and am very happy for you that you have so much figured out and seem to be dealing with mostly success! Sending love!

Hi Camryn! Really appreciate you talking about things in crochet business that I don't feel like it gets talked about a lot. It felt like a gentle reality check and preparing us what can happen while still being so encouraging ❤ I resonated with number 2 that not everyone in my life is going to understand what I do or value it. I have felt brushed off lately when people ask me what I've been up to and their response isn't what I was expected. Trying to not let it tank my confidence or slow me down 🌞 totally needed to hear this

You are truly an inspiration I have been following you for a while now and I just find ur energy and can do attitude so inspirational, thank you for sharing so much valuable information. I am trying to start up my crochet business in Australia, and I feel the side judgments from some people as well trying to go legitimate as a full time crochet business.

I can relate to number 2 on this video can be overwhelming but navigating that at the end of the day what counts is what you think of your business and having that relentless confidence helps❤😊

I did swap meets every weekend this summer. It gave me a real look how it can go up and down. I had weeks where Friday was my best and made over 300 or Fridays where I only made 5 dollars. Its alot about WHO is seeing your work. I had a terrible day at the swap meet as my last day and was super bummed right? So we went to the bakery where I sell a bunch of toys as well. I had my BEST WEEK EVER at the bakery. What helps me is, if things dont sell at one show you have product for your next. A tip I wish I knew before was. LEARN TO REST. REST REST REST. I put myself in the hospital several times when I was only online. I felt the pressure to be the best ever so I took on more orders than any human should. I kept trying to put my all in and then would crash like someone took the batteries out of the energizer bunny. Rest is important

Hi Camryn! For a “just getting started” video…I wish someone would have told me when I got into making amigurumi about UKCA and CE soft toy testing requirements in the U.K. and EU. It’s a big process making technical files and obtaining the chemical testing files, and it breaks my little heart twisting, torquing and torching my little turtles 🐢 😢 I know legal requirements are different in countries (and probably vary from state to state in the US) but it could be a helpful collab video maybe to chat with some makers from different areas about that side of things, because I had NO CLUE when I first started that safety testing my amigurumi toys was a requirement and not something I can just label “not for kids” on a swing tag

Hi! I love your videos, I’ve been crocheting for a while but now I want to take it seriously as a business. I just moved to a new city and struggling to find where/when they have craft shows. Any advice on how to find out so I can sign up??

my first market is a booth that my friend is willing to share with me so that I can get an idea of what they are like. I am so nervous about it. I'm really wanting to move forward with creating a crochet business just so I can really enjoy crocheting and creating and sharing beautiful works. Part of me is afraid that I won't be fast enough to keep up with demand. Do you have any tips for how to crochet at a faster pace? And if I'm wanting to create a logo, do you have any tips regarding that? sorry to ramble on so much, I just feel like I have a million questions.

My classmate just asked me to make him a teddy bear. When I sell something to someone, I only take cash. I don't do transfer. They can also pay me anytime when they are not able to.

I'm not very far into my business, but I just started and I only do in person markets when im accepted. I have one coming up october the 11th and I was wondering how much stock should I have? I'm not sure how popular the event is, but there is about 30 vendors in a city of about 70k people.
