I actually got the ho-oh. It was fun. First ever without cheats too [I have played the entirety of colosseum over 50 times]. Team was heracross, gengar, delibird, nidoking, clefairy, metagross. You just need earthquake, protect, blizzard, and other aoe moves. after each successful round you get a point, should you lose you use a point to continue. At the end I only lost 3 times (in total). It was easy in the beginning and did not get hard till about 70% in, but should you know the team comp you fight ad bring a balanced team with full vitamin ivs and the right moves, you can easily win. That ho-oh was so cool.

Everyone here any of these things are damn near impossible but putting them all together is like impossible things to find I have heard of people finding two shinies in the same horde but never more than that cuz normally two will be more than the system can handle and it'll just freeze and you'll lose them both

If I did my calculations correctly then the odds of finding five spinda with the same spot patterns are about 1 in 1024000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 or one in one thousand twenty four times ten to the forty fifth power

Linked to that Ruby/Sapphire shiny tutorial - if the IVs and natures are perfect, Wally's Zigzagoon can faint the Ralts with a probability of ~1/200,000. Given the >16 million sales of R/S this scenario is likely to have happened to >80 people on their first run through. What would be very unlikely is that Ralts being a shiny and Wally fainting it (~1/1.5 Billion)

Shiny leaves isn't hard, actually. I'll say this again but where your pokemon can get them depends on the Pokemon's nature. If you know your Pokemon's nature, you can have an easier time. Bulbapedia has a good shiny leaf and natures article to help out to make it go by much faster. But 100 wins in the battle tower? No, thanks. That's hard for any casual battler.

I'm the proud owner of both Ho-oh from Colosseum and Lugia from XD. Both have the Earth Ribbon too, which means I went through the 100 battles again. 😊 But no, they are not shiny. Ho-oh could be I've heard.

@@strawhatpapi2543 I remember Mewtwo in combination with Charizard and Blastoise. Both of these know attacks that hit multiple Pokémon (Heat Wave and Surf respectively). In Gen 3 Surf didn't hit own team mates yet.

Neither of them can be Shiny, actually. In XD, the Shadow Pokémon are all Shiny-locked. In Colosseum, everything _but_ the Shadow Pokémon are Shiny-locked. Which means just Espeon, Umbreon, Plusle, and yes, Ho-Oh.

You know how after you fight Shadow Lugia, you have to fight a team of six shadow Pokemon, three of which are the Legendary Birds? Well, by some miracle, my husband caught all four legendaries on the first try. He just Master Balled Lugia and happened to have an open slot on his team. It wouldn't have been possible without full-health Shadow Lugia.

I actually have the Ho-Oh in colosseum. I beat the game as a kid and came back to it many years later (when I had heard about the obtainable Ho-Oh). I actually completed Mt. Battle 4 times. I hadn’t realized you had to beat the challenge under battle mode as opposed to regular story mode in order to get Ho-Oh and was angry with myself for wasting so much time. I finally got my Ho-Oh though so yay

What I'm wondering is if the Colosseum Ho-oh can be shiny (since they just dump it into your PC). All I know for sure is that my husband's Ho-oh wasn't shiny. But if it CAN...now THAT'S an impossible shiny hunt. Probably not as bad as Manaphy though.

So depending who you ask some people think it’s possible, just incredibly rare (like maybe as soon as you create the save file that determines whether it’s shiny or not), while others think it’s impossible since the game is coded for shadow Pokémon too be shiny, and Ho-Oh isn’t a shadow Pokémon

Back in 2010 i was playing through emerald version and when going through wallys tutorial, and both the zigzagoon and ralts were shiny, i was stunned, and when the zigzagoon attacked and got a critical attack on the ralts and killed it, probably the strangest sight i ever saw

You can actually use a continue in Mt. Battle and still get the Ho-Oh. I lost one time and continued and still got it.

I can verify that. My husband was so heartbroken when he had to use a continue, but I convinced him to finish it just in case. It seems that you'll get Ho-oh as long as you don't run out of continues. And you'll rack up a lot of continues in those first battles.

Shiny crown isn’t actually that hard these days. The internet has made it fairly simple. Imo ribbon mastering is still the hardest bit of Pokémon. Cuz it’s compiles all of the contests & leagues & battle towers/resorts/mansions into one long multi-generational struggle. I’m still stuck in ORAS battle frontier.

you forget to mention that in RSE, it is possible for wally's zigzagoon to KO the ralts. so it is nearly impossible if you have both zigzagoon and ralts be shiny, and also for ralts to be KOed at the same time. and to correct your magikarp odds. although magikarp appears level 1 to 100 in that area, the odd is not 1%. the magikarp programmed for that area is 20% to be between L40 to L60, 20% to be between L30 to L70, 15% to be between L20 to L80, 4% to be between L10 to L90, and 1% to be between L1 to L100. So the odds for a L1 or L100 magikarp is not 1%, it is 0.01% so the odds for a shiny is even lower that what you stated.

I think you can force the first one to happen, at least on a simulator? You need to get a starter with 31 iv on attack and speed with correct nature, and let Bianca get a starter with lowest possible defence and HP, then you quick save after each turn if your Pokémon lands a critical hit and Bianca's Pokémon use a non-damaging move. If your Pokémon got damaged you can reload the game. Rinse and repeat then you can witness Chiren say his "unused dialogue".

7:08 It isn't quite like a Battle Tower. The Levels of your Pokémon aren't set to a specific value and you gain EXP like normally. That's why it is one of my favorite Battle Institutions in the Series because it's actually useful during the story. Especially if you want some of the later available Shadow Pokémon on your Team.

In Pokemon Colosseum you don't need to start the whole 0-100 battle again if you fail. Every 10 battle there's a checkpoint and you can start from there. It's the game's only way to grind levels.

Well, a difficult task in XY is got all the trophies in Battle Maison. You have to win 50 consecutive battles in each Super Battle mode (Singles, Doubles, Triples, Rotation, Multi). Besides, in order to get the Lasant Berry you must get 200 win in a row in any battle category. They both are extremely difficult tasks to complete.

believe it or not, the level 1-100 shiny magikarp thing is even rarer because its actually a 1% chance to encounter a magikarp in the encounter slot that allows you to find level 1-100 magikarps, to find a shiny magikarp on top of the 1/10000 chance of finding a level 1 or 100 magikarp makes it even more impossible

The Colosseum Ho-Oh actually isn't hard to get. But it sure takes time (50 hours is a good estimate, around 45 for the story and 4 for the mountain). The mountain itself is far easier than the Battle Tower, as you can use Legendaries and Mythicals there. Go into it with Kyogre and something that can hit Shedinja, go in Double Battle Mode and you're pretty much good. I managed to get Ho-Oh first try and I'm a competitive noob ^^

about the Ralts-tutorial, it's actually possible for wally to accidentically defeat ralts if the natures align. So imagine Wally using a shiny Zigzagoon against a shiny Ralts, then defeating that Ralts.

Believe it or not, I was soft-resetting for a shiny Mudkip in Pokémon Emerald. After a few weeks, I gave up and started playing. Low and behold, the zigzagoon that Wally borrowed from my dad pops out shiny. It still haunts me to this day.

the shiny leaf isn’t actually hard to find as its dependent on your pokemon’s nature so if it’s a jolly nature you would have to go to a certain route. The pokeathalon is actually fun to do but the hardest thing by far is the battle tower which is a 100 damn battles which you would have to IV train, have egg moves and the appropriate nature on your pokémon... doable but very time consuming. Pokedex is also very hard since you need the regi’s, stunky, glameow and spiritomb which requires you to have other games. All in all a very tough challenge.

Oh hey! I'm actually one of those who got the Colosseum Ho-oh. I remember doing it as a kid and taking so long that I finish at around 3 am, and my mom told me I was not allowed to play the next day so I had to wait extra to transfer de Ho-oh lmao. I believe the mon is still in my Emerald cartridge. Also I'm pretty impressed at past me for being able to beat the 100 battles with no knowledge of natures and EVs. I remember my team was the three Hoenn starters, Umbreon, Espeon and Dragonite.

if it's region locked, u could use a VPN and download his music so u will always have it. VPNs lets u fool the app to make it think ur in a different country. I think there's one u can get where a month costs $30, if u have a little extra money on hand.

@@miominamoto7816 sorry for the confusion, but a VPN is separate from Spotify; it's an app or program you install on your device that lets u fool the internet to make it think it you're in a different country; can be used on Netflix, Spotify, heck even youtube. so if there's a show on Netflix that u want to watch that's only available in another country, u can use the VPN to trick the app to make it think you ARE in that country, and you'll be able to watch it. same for youtube telling you that a video is blocked in your region, or Spotify. Don't just take my word for it though, do some research, there are other things you can do with a VPN too. And I totally agree, u shouldn't buy a separate service just to get US media, most of our stuff is terrible. Hope this helps u ☺️

You know, getting Ho-oh in Pokemon Colosseum is only the first step to completing the National Dex in third gen. You gotta get Lugia in Colosseum 2. You gotta catch Feebas and evolve it into Milotic. And so on. It took my husband dozens and dozens of hours to do it all - but it is possible. And you get a lame certificate for it 😉

My Magneton in SoulSilver picked up a gold leaf, on accident too & I had no idea what it was when it happened. I decided against trading it over to Pearl to evolve it into Magnezone even though I want to evolve it, I was afraid of losing the gold leaf. I still haven’t beat the Elite 4 in that game for whatever reason, earlier today I booted it up actually because I have two copies of SS & am doing an all poison run of Platinum so I decided to shiny hunt Weedle in both of my SoulSilver games because although I do have LeafGreen, I actually want my Weedle during my play through of Platinum, frustrating that it’s a dual slot Pokémon like I wish I could just encounter it during my main play instead of waiting until I have the national dex plus my LeafGreen is in English & Platinum in Japanese so I don’t even know if the whole dual slot thing would work. Sorry, had to get that off, the pain of obtaining shiny Weedle in gen 4 lol. Anyways, I saw my Magneton & did feel guilty over not yet evolving it but like, will it keep its gold leaf if I trade it to evolve it then trade it back? It not being evolved is one of the things holding me back from taking on the Elite 4 because that Magneton is a valued team member.

Huh. Winning the battle without losing HP. It seems like it'd be either the odds of the opponent always using Growl/Leer until it faints...or the odds of enough misses in a row to knock it out. (1/[20^n] for Tackle, where n is the number of rounds it needs to miss to lose)

The Mt. Battle Ho-Oh? Nah. That's certainly gonna take up a decent chunk of time, but it's not what I'd call nearly impossible. It can be done in singles or doubles, so if you got a decently competent team for the main story, even out their levels, maybe trade in a TM or two from the main series that can't be found in Colosseum, you got a good fighting chance. Also, you get a continue for every battle in which you don't lose a Pokémon, and a large chunk of the earlier battles are easy, so you're going to rack up a _lot_ of continues before you ever really start to need them. And no, using continues does not disqualify you from getting Ho-Oh. Last time I did this was with my ingame team from that Colosseum playthrough, which was Espeon, Umbreon, Feraligatr, Furret, Plusle, and Hitmontop. Actually led with Plusle and Feraligatr in a good chunk of the battles, too, up to and including against Mt.BtlMaster Inity. It's a cool experience, in my opinion.

Actually, the level 1 Magikarp isn't a 1%. The encounter for the Level 1-100 Magikarp is in the 1% slot on the encounter table, meaning that getting a Magikarp at level 1 or 100 is a 1/10,000 chance each.

Zero damage in the Bianca battle doesn't sound like it should be that rare. If I recall, the starters come with one basic damaging move like Scratch and one non-damaging move like Growl. This early in the game, opposing trainers will pick moves more or less at random, so in each turn you have roughly 50-50 odds of Bianca picking a damaging move. If it takes maybe 5 hits from your Pokemon to faint hers, your odds of taking no damage are somewhere around 1 in 2^5, or 1 in 32. Odds may be somewhat better since she can pick a damaging move and miss, or significantly worse if her AI is more advanced than a coin flip.

A miraculous shiny encounter i had once. In my heart gold game, i just caught the red gyaridose, literally my next encounter was a shiny magikarp!!!! I was PISSED!! like "IT HAD TO BE A MAGIKARP!!?? IT COULDN'T OF BEEN ANY OTHER POKEMON!!???"

Colloseum being the very first and only pkmn game I ever played for the longest of time made me realize I wasn't just playing any pkmn game. In fact, every other game from the series now just seems like an absolute joke to me compared to how much I had to suffer/learn from Colloseum lmao. Having 100% finished it including all Colloseums battles in singles/doubles AND with only pkmn given in the game; it is most likely the greatest gaming achievement I'll ever have... If only I knew where the gamecube memory card with my ho oh ended up at, but it's been almost a decade :(

Wally can knock out the ralts in the catching tutorial. Theoretically, Wally could have a shiny zigzagoon knocking out a shiny ralts.

Damn. This bokksu thing seems great. Too bad I'm from the most poor state in Brasil, here is basically Africa level poor, so I don't hav access to this stuff. But one day I will get a better life and try it out. Also the video was great, some really cool stuff.
