Many cities are actually trying to "unteach" that so-called escalator etiquette. I was told that people should actually stand in the center or on both sides of an escalator step because having the majority always standing to one side causes an unequal weight distribution and that damages the escalator faster. Also walking up the steps is discouraged because it has a higher risk of injury due to lack of balance.
My driver license card has notation "expire: Heisei 36th" and I do not understand when it will expire. Anyway the Police will notify me one month before expiration. Added:My License was re-issued in March/Heisei 31th and Heisei ended up at the end of April/31th.

I understand all of your viewpoints and wanna add one more confusing thing, "address". In Japan, kind of similar to Number 5, we start with upper division like prefecture, city or ward, subdivisions.. and I think this makes sense. What do you think of this opinion ? :)

I am a civil-engineer .On the structure(tunnel & bridge et.ai.), its age is important. We Japanese feel difficult the calculation. So I make a table A.D. VS Wareki about one hundred years by Excel.

I noticed the same thing about the side of the escalator you stand on. I’m from Osaka and now I’ve lived in London, I thought it’s the same as that of Osaka and felt a sense of closeness haha

There are a lot of similarities between London and Osaka 😊

Some taxis in Hong Kong, the doors are automatically opened when picking up. And I have never seen a bank book during my past vacations in Japan for banking. Instead, we use bank card. Not just the staff in Japanese restaurants welcomed kindly, but also for the date, it is the day first, then the month and the year in the last.

I didn't know that there are some taxies that have automatic doors!😊
Most of the things that Japan invents are small, delicate versions of things invented overseas. Inventions would be American, British, and German. The industrial revolution that changed the world was in England.

A good spot, I also found it funny to see people standing on the different side of the escalator in Osaka and Tokyo. Right is right, left is right! Talking of the escalator, the typical speed of the escalator in Japan is probably the slowest in the world? I find it rather challengingly fast in European countries.
今、動画を見ましたよ。😀僕もイギリスに興味があります。日本のドリンクの自動販売機とイギリスのドリンクの自動販売機の動画についてのリクエストお願いします。 I just watched the video. 😀 I am also interested in England. Please request a video of a Japanese drink vending machine and a British drink vending machine.
