If you don't do formation laps, you start with stone cold tires so you have no grip at the start

The quali sim has been like that since F1 2006. Id like a money based system. Where cash must be earned, and spent on team development, repairs for crashes and upgrades and even driver salary like in motorsport manager

I'm not a big fan of the mid season transfers, I know they can happen but it's very rare in reality and getting them in season 1 is just ridiculous.

Although transfers can be really fun and add a whole new layer to career mode i believe that: - midseason transfers should be much more rare - the 1st season shouldnt have any as we are already seeing many new faces and the game is very much fresh - there should be some sort of scripting or basis for the transfers to occur instead of being pure randomness. Transfers Depending on performance for example would be much better. If someone is doing well move them to a better team and viceversa.

1.AI drivers sticking to the racing line religously. 2. AI drivers cutting you up and taking you off without any penalty whereas you get warnings for minor collisions. The racing line bug has been since the old Ps1 Formula 1 game. Can they really not do better?

I don't agree with point 4. I like that you can do upgrades quickly without having to grind. The problem is that Aarava tends to spend a lot more time in game than the average player. Most players don't want to spend hours grinding through the same practice sessions over and over, and it's great that we don't have to. Codies please don't change this. Rather give some advanced settings so that players can tweak this if they want to.

The pace of the F2 drivers is the other way round in my save, Butler is super OP in a Racing Point consistently beating the Red Bulls. Verstappen also needs a major Buff imo.

Indeed, McLaren is too slow. McLaren should start as the 4th fastest team. Renault's specs should be used for McLaren. McLaren also need a buff in straight line speed.

In 2018 I used AI 100% but find 2019 I'm more 90% any lower I'm to fast. BUT that brings me on to my problem with 2019, the practice programs are way to difficult. For example the Qualifying Program wanted me to do a time in an Alfa that was quicker that the Mercedes was doing at the top, I mean wtf never had this problem in 2018 And I'm finding most practice programs the same unless I drop AI 5-10 in practice then putting it back to 90% for Quali and Race. I've read alot of others having the same problem.

Massively agree with your point on quali sim issue, I did 5 seasons in career mode on F1 2018 and it got so irritating that it really destroyed the immersion to the point I lost interest and stopped playing it. Also your point on R&D is spot on imo, like you say I feel the speed you can upgrade is way to quick. In f1 2018 all cars where maxed out after 5 seasons, plus when there was an R&D reset you had enough points just to buy everything back before the next season!. Perhaps they could have a setting that sets R&D speed relative to how many seasons you are likely to do? So players like me who want to do 10 seasons select Slow/more expensive R&D and vice versa. Love your work btw 👍

No bug or problem: But on race start my tyres are already at 20-30% and I need to drive with them 6 laps or so. The rule is something like fastest lap in training = start tyres or so? How to manage this best? Thanks :)

mainly for the Powertrain section, If you finish an R&D obj you cant just get it for free on your currently equipped components. Instead the upgrades must be applied to the next available component. So you wouldnt swap in component 2's until you wanted to have the R&D's added. That way youd get alittle more realistic buildup of performance through a season.

The cool thing about the F2 rivals in my career mode is the fact that they are quite equal. I am racing for Haas, Butler at Renault and Weber at Racing Point. Butler and Weber are constantly beating each other in quali and races.

It's interesting that in my career, Weber hasn't scored any points yet (he's in a Toro Rosso), while Butler is absolutely crushing it in a Racing Point. I do like being able to fight Butler in my McLaren though, to be fair :D I can agree with the other points though, especially the AI wet weather pace. It feels like the difficulty goes down by like 10 points when there's a wet weather race.

I think they need to add some kind of preseason test in a spec car no setup changes at the beginning of career mode for the sole purpose of letting you know what a.i. level difficulty you should play on. Plus they need to make that difficulty track dependent. They know what tracks the a.i. are god like on and which ones they are less than human on. Adjust difficulty accordingly so I don’t have to take notes on difficulty levels per track and adjust myself

I fully agree, i started my career in the Renault so Weber was in the Haas and Butler in the Red Bull, Weber always qualified 5th-6th and butler like 5th-8th and in the race he’s always battling for P8 while Weber’s like 4th-6th.

I've heard that the honda engine is not getting any performance from upgrades, dont know if anyone can confirm that, that would be troublesome and a bug coming from f1 2017 that wasnt at f1 2018

Can confirm that i started 2 new Careers in Redbull and compared the times once with Engine upgrades and once without and the times were almost the same with the expected tolerances from lap to lap.. basicly the same bug that Mclaren had in 2018 i guess

Half way through season one of F1 2019 racing for mclaren which for me hasn't been to bad, few minor upgrades solved the pace issue out for me. F1 2019 so far really good won the Austrian gp for mclaren recently, one of the nice touches I have noticed the tyre wear really like that, plus new tyres you see the shean on them at first then wear out really like that..

If you do 2 practice programs per weekend the R&D speed is as fast as the ai (some faster some slower). The rest of practice you can do long runs or something without doing practice programs. It will make your career more fun to play.

Does anyone else have a helmet graphical glitch on Xbox? Like the top of my helmet constantly bugs out the textures rapidly pop in and out, makes it impossible to play because it's distracting af, thing is it only happens in certain cars. Racing point, Williams, Mercedes are fine, everything else I get the glitch. It happens on every helmet as well unless I'm driving in one of the above mentioned cars

I do not understand why they got rid of the option to choose your teammate in career mode. Eg if I want to join Ferrari my teammate will always be Vettel but never Leclerc. Or did I just missed sth?

I would like to see the entire grid have a base performance boost. When codemasters were designing the cars for 2019, they thought that the regulations for the new aero would make the cars slower, hence why the cars just physically aren't as fast as they should be in the corners. Also, I think that ERS depletes too fast. With that said though, I am with McLaren... Plus, one thing I noticed at Monza is that this year overtake ERS actually has a massive straightline speed boost compared to last year.

I started with Alfa, by the time i've reached Germany in the career season my R&D was level with Red bull. Im on 100 ai and my average position is 6 if you see the R&D history graph compared to the other times its funny, it shoots straight up.

Id you buy the efficiency and quality control upgrades before or as you upgrade your car the development is actually quite balanced with the AI, the problem is that youtubers see something that makes their car faster now and get it, rather than investing in season 2 and beyond. Also, if you leave the team afterwards, they will keep up much better. I played F1 2018 this way and never thought the development was too fast. It took three seasons for me to win the constructors for Force India. Investing in durability also helps soak up some points if you think you have too many.

The main issue for me is in qualiy the ai time is based if the last lap they set, not they're fasted, on multiple occasions for me and in your vids, u gain places on the grid whilst driving a lap, it needs fixing asap, been there since last year

Aarava, if you don't like R&D speed than upgrade your car like teams do in real life, just on specific races for big upgrades and minor upgrades here and there, for example, 21 race - 3 major upgrades - 3 minor/medium upgrades, so thought the season make only 5 to 6 upgrades and your career will be more realistic

I don’t think u mentioned it but what about ai having such different pace at various tracks. For example I raced at susuka today and I’m 3rd in power Train and the toro rossos who where 2nd from bottom where flying past me in a straight line even when I had it in hotlap. This happens at Bahrain aswell where it’s just impossible to compete with the ai when u don’t change the level they’re at.

I am onto the end of Season 2 in the McLaren. I did no upgrades in Season 1 to go crazy seeing how quickly you upgrade with crazy amounts of resource points... It is insanely fast. > After Season 2 Round 16, Maxed Out Engine, 12 Chassis Upgrades done, 11 Aero Upgrades done and 11 Durability done (Probably will fully max out the McLaren by Monaco in Season 3)

The one that was really annoying in last year's game was the qualy simulations. I had a race in China were my Q1 time was about a second quicker than the cut off time and I skipped to the end of the session and ended up 16th. To make things worse Valtteri Bottas was in the drop zone and he went out on soft tyres he had done about 4 flying laps on and he improved by like 2 seconds and was extremely pissed off

It's obvious that they used the performance levels from last years game because if you looked at the RND tree for engine power, Redbull was still with the Renault when the game launched. That made me almost want a refund 10 minutes into playing the game.

What about the agressivity of the AI ? Like they just turn into you to matter if you are alongside or not, and they spin you out of the race when they are behind ? Like even 30 years ago they would get penalty for that kind of behavior... I like to have difficult AI to overtake, but this is just too much. Great that we can't dive bomb easily at the start, but some AI still do that sometime so....

Did anyone else notice that there seems to be some sort of form mechanism in career mode, where some drivers seem to get into a bad form for a few races? I've seen some drivers have a massive drop in performance for a few races until they picked up the pace again.

In my Career Mode, it's the other way around. Butler is OP and Weber consistently underperforms. Also, I agree with the comment about Driver Transfer frequency. Imo, it should only happen at the end of each season otherwise it just gets silly.

There is also when you get a penalty in qualy for changing gearbox or whatever, you keep your place

for the second reason, it's more of the track becoming faster. Its better to not set a banker lap and just do one as late as you can, but i do think the track and tyre wear affects the soft way too much
