If u guys wanna improve: - Play Competitive Damage 1v1s GB style (and after that, team matches) - Watch Pros competitive 1v1 matches and montages (4vs4 too) - Study all the tricks, movements, map angles. - Grind the game

It’s a dead game, I can tell you ppl learning 1vs are lot in team fire mechanics if they only play 1vs and learn map tricks District warriors getting lost on other maps But yes it can help to be better in some way, repetition, focus, holding shots, aiming

Crazy you made this video, I played UG and GBs in gears 3 and did the same in gears 4 as a kid. Chalked gear 5 but I watched the esports scene and now I watch cod league a lot and it’s lit but that’s not my game. So I’m very interested in playing competitive for eday. You know what? I knew there was a reason I've been subbed to you this whole time. I've never really felt like this before but I recently leveled up in a way irl and I can tell that you have potential as well. The way you describe this game is kinda how I thought pros thought about this game. I used to be montager for the community back in the hayday of GoW 3. So I gotta little taste of the "how to be good at gears" mentality and I shit you not, feels like that was just the start of who I am today. I'm willing to put money on it that some pros view this game similar to a fast game of chess(for lack of a better analogy) . Each Gear or Locust moving methodically(using cover)throughout the map, picking up power weapons for extra firepower, taking control of power positions..and thats anoverarching teamplay style of gears. The individual 1v1s or 2v1s or 2v2 with your buddy where y'all in synched up just fucking hit different once you know how this game was intended to be played. Wallbouncing has a place but not the hyper shit. The hyper bounce shit really helps ya train your reflexes but the traditional cover mechanics of gears train your brain. The ideal gears game would have developers that had figured this out (please) and found a way to tone down hyper bouncing while rewarding players for good reactions while rewarding players for good thinking while giving the best rewards for those with both. Enough yapping 😂 It's silly really but this franchise holds the biggest place in my heart and I wanna thank you Icy for continuing to make content. Imma join the discord a bit later, I think..part of leveling up is just doing shit I want to do lol

Your channel along with Shadows' are the only two channels ive been following over the years and have learned alot as a player. Loved the advice about not needing to replicate someone's style. Gears is a very versatile shooter which welcomes different playstyles with open arms. You just need to adjust to what your natural playstyle is alongside the basics ofcourse(e.g using covers as much as possible)

Icy, optic summons, domez, xplosives and avexys is my inspirations for improving at gears of war. Sometimes all it takes is a good influence and watching good players. Maybe slow down videos if necessary Sidenote: in a 2v2 gnasher match in gears 4 i ran into xplosives and holy shit pros are on a different level then us for real find the mistakes you made even if you have to punish yourself somehow to lessen the mistake pros will subconsciously seen that without thinking

I just back A a lot and walk around and use cover a lot. I can't be bothered messing up my hands with spamming wall bouncing. I never liked wall bounce spamming.

Its weird but I feel like I normally played pretty well with 15-23 sens back in the older games but for some reason in Gears 5 that feels almost too slow for me. This is the first Gears game where I play on all 30s. Not sure if its because I'm on PC or my controller.

i agree too, i said it before .all that wall canceling sh*t is not real gears of war. Gears was always about mastering special weapons, team work, and using roadie running efficiently and strafing. No one values cover and shoot because you can just wall bounce and ice skate everywhere. Gears should favor brains not reflex.

The only negative thing I say, i just dont think alternate should be gone, altogether. I think remapping shouldn't be a thing. But alternate has been around since Gears of War 2, many of us went to alternate in Gears of War 2 and have stayed ever since. I don't know if i could go back to default at this point. And not defaulternate just classic alternate that's been around for so long. But I also think that pc shouldn't be able to use M&K if they have crossplay enabled.

I mean if the best players in the world play on controller then it can't really be much of a handicap. Same as the Halo games. They all use controller by choice, even when playing on PC.

The game only exists because of its fans. The pro circuit only exists because of its fans. The main goal of the game is to entertain us, the casual players, and not the pros. My way of playing was never to camp, I always wanted to work for my own effort to develop my skills and always been a rusher... This video here has made me look back from my gears experience, since gears 5 I couldn't get into it and decided to stay away from that game. It does upset me that gow took an odd turn to this point. I expect gears to go back the way it was, because I'm a hardcore gears 4 player and kept it that way! I miss playing when I take the time to watch gears of war videos, such as...👆👆👆 Since gears 4 outdated now😅 Because of this video, I'll subscribe for many reason. Gow players have a difficult time understanding the fundamentals of gears of war! I've come to understand on my own about gears 4 and gave me a good amount of knowledge to grasp the way it works and how people play and what makes me laugh is everyone does the same thing and the main cause of it it keeps happening and most importantly stay the same way in even in their own playstyle. I'm one of those players that pay very close attention, the things others probably don't see. It's the way things are seen with the way you do things, make the habit to lure them right in front of there face, then you get the hint or idea to counter what the opponent will do afterwards, once that happens.. its time to go to work. 😎😈 After watching your videos, I'll consider subscribing! When there's players that play like you do with to me what looks like great camera control makes it look easy to understand what is happening and helps to evaluate in a heated battle.👌 It doesn't help to just watch. Apply creative ideas and that will help a lot of gow players. I sometimes go back to my short clips and rewatch how I play, gives me an understanding of what I'm capable of. Keep up the content.💣💪
