During the last few years an increasing number of international companies have opened offices in Spain, mostly I.T. companies, but I think the number of job opportunities in English are in general way lower, I'd say. As someone who's lived most of his life in the city of Málaga I wasn't aware of the large "expat" communities in Costa del Sol. I've always considered Málaga-city as a Spanish-speaking area, basically... until I was aware of other towns and villages along the coast. I think you can live without learning Spanish in most of Costa del Sol, except for Málaga-city.

Hello, Nina, Thank you for all of your valuable videos! In your the five things you must know to move to Spain video, which was great, in your tax section you did not address taxation for retirees on Social Security. It would be great if you could add to that.

Hi Jill, thank you for your comment. I have to say that I am not very familiar with taxes when it comes to pensioners, but I would suggest you have a look at this article: costaluzlawyers.es/blog/your-guide-to-tax-on-pensions-in-spain/

Are the walls in Spain not constructed from bricks? That was my expectation of European architecture. I live in NYC and there is also issue here with noise, since walls are typically constructed from only 1/2 inch thick drywall (which is not really a wall & only slightly better than using cardboard). 😅

In my building they are definitely not made from bricks. I can hear when my neighbor takes something out of a plug and my upstairs neighbors' contractor accidentally drilled a hole into my apartment when they were doing renovations ... Paper walls 😬 my building is from the 60' so ....

My parents' house is definitely made from bricks, but low budget buildings tend to be made from Pladur and that type of materials

Pues déjame decirte que tiene que ser una excepción, e España 🇪🇦tradicionalmente se construye con paredes de ladrillo así que no tienes que generalizar

Hello Nina , how much do u pay in denmark for social security every month as a employed? Thank you
@FriiInfo
@FriiInfo Жыл бұрын
The social security payments are managed by unions in Denmark so the price varies a little, but around 80€ only. And for this money, you get good coverage. Most unions offer even better coverage for a higher fee. It makes social security in Spain seem like a bit of a scam 😂

I totally disagree about the need to learn Spanish. If you want to live in Spain then that includes the language in order to communicate with Spanish people, it is only polite. If you want to speak English then stay in your own country. Let Spain be Spain and that includes the language and everything else that is Spain, if you don't like that stay at home. For me, noise is the problem, but again if I want to live in Spain then I have to accept Spain and not expect it to change to suit me!

I think you misunderstand my point. From an objective perspective Spanish is not necessary to get by. Whether or not it is okay to not want to learn Spanish is an entirely different question.
