+Westie no that's not what i was hoping for but a change is always good and welcomed :) since WW1 didn't have a huge impact on FPS games or games in general so that's a first i think , however Battlefield is a modern military FPS always was and always will be , so i think Battlefield 1 is gonna be just like Hardline , a "between series" game , so Battlefield 5 is the bigger impact maybe next year or so :) by the way the trailer music sounds like the Bundesliga fans chant lol !

+No On23 always was modern military? the first "real" battlefield, as you could say, was Battlefield 1942 mate. I think that BF1 is very much the next main battlefield title and they've moved away from modern military, for a great change imo.

I hope you can finally customise your soldier a bit. Like, put on a cape like the guy on the poster has and stuff like that. Maybe even unlockable stuff. Not like, pink camo and unrealistic stuff, but just small things that makes your soldier your own. I also hope there will be some incentive to continue playing when you've unlocked all the weapons you want. Something like a ranked squad system with matchmaking or something. I don't know if me and my squad mates are alone on this, but to just keep grinding to nothing isn't all that big of a carrot.

Battlefield 1 thus far seems like a significant step forward in a lot of areas that people really wanted: A world war setting, meaningful destruction, more class definition, etc. I hope they also changed around the way that class progression works because having to unlock the same scope 20 times for 20 different weapons was one of my biggest gripes with BF4. Overall, though, I can't wait to try this one out.

+nighthawk127 Well, it would be cool, but then you need to consider the time of getting in and out of the vehicles. If you go into a tank it most likely would the take some time and during that time you are completely vulnerable to damage. Now imagine. You are running to a tank and you get headshotted by a sniper while you are getting inside the tank, you died because you were locked in an animation aka the death wasn't your fault aka a really annoying and unfair part of the game that makes the game more frustrating. Yes it's a bit annoying to get rekt by a tank, but when the pilot is outside the tank the tank is most likely heavily damaged, so it's not as big of a threat anymore, or the pilot saw the tank spawn and went running for it, here you have plenty of time to kill him and if add the bonus time of getting into a tank, boom. No one wants to even touch the tank in battle because they know that they are going to die. Also, you have plenty of ways to damage the tank (in bf4 3 main classes can destroy one by themselves and one can damage the tank with grenade launchers), the tank has bad visibility and it can't reach down enough to reach players right next to it or get into places a regular player can.

Westie, will this game have Uniform Soldier Aiming (FOV based sensitivity scaling) like bf4 and with a later (futile) patch, hardline? For me that's a no-buy if it doesn't have that option in and I think I'm not the only one.

if there is destruction to that level on the planes i think that aspect that small arms fire can damage aircraft in this game would allow for them to be used much more heavily in ground attack roles as there is a higher risk-reward aspect to it and i think this would be a perfect opportunity to start getting aircraft more involved in the direct action happening on the ground, and encouraging less passive flying.

I think an engineer would be a valuable addition to the game, mainly because of the fact that engineers DID play a huge role in world war one not so much in the way of preparing tanks but they did, tunnel, set up communication cables and repair fortifications and I think if they included stuff like that in the game it would increase the amount of things to do other then just shoot stuff.

Roundrock Women are not medics fighting on the front lines. They were in the very back of the battle helping wounded soldiers that had been brought down from the front. There should be 0 female characters in this game unless of course you go to a medical tent if you are wounded in the campaign.

WW1 had plenty of engineers on the front lines. They were a necessity. The did yes fix tanks but the also fixed artillery, repaired/cut barb wire, and many more things.
