If you have a 2LT or higher, with the heads up display on the windshield, the NAV directions show up there as well. Really cool!

Hi Mike, thanks for the tips. As you know i don’t have a C7 yet... a few days ago you gave me a wonderful tip to go for a C7 Stingray as opposed to a C6 when I’m ready to buy which will be about 5 years away when I’m ready to retire ! The magnetic phone holder looks like a great deal ! I ordered the Ultra thin one which is $30 from Amazon for my current 2013 Lexus ES350. They also have a Vent mounted one too but i dont want to block my A/C

After you pop the trunk and then the door open, if your battery is not dead and only your keyFOB is dead, you put the key FOB in a notch on the side of the steering column and it closes the circuit allowing the car to recognize your key and therefore start.

On more to add to your list. Please do not slam your trunk lid. Only light pressure is needed to close hatch or trunk lid. Just meet the lid with rear of car and there is a built-in motor that will pull lid down completely. Easy, Peasey!

Hi there, I have a 2016 Stingray Z51, which chip is a good plug and play you'd suggest that has great quality and best reviews? I've seen some that will get it from 460hp to 500hp but I'm still a little skeptical on those that run about $250 only. Would love your input. Everything else on the car is stock and only has about 5k miles on the car as well. It's the 7speed manual trans.

Good stuff brother, luckily I have been a proud owner of 4 C7s lol, knew these all. On the first one, when you open the trunk with the key, you can actually unlock the car too by pulling the unlock cable/wire to unlock door manually.

Hey thanks for the tips I just bought my 2018 C7 grand sport and I couldn’t figure out how to start it with the remote and I haven’t had time to read the manual so thanks also I would say I use a RAM MOUNT with a suction cup on the windshield with a 6 inch arm and it puts my phone hands-free and in a kind of poor mans heads up display mode that way I don’t mess up the dash with any kind of mounting. That set up works pretty good for me thanks. And Waze I found shows an alternate turn by turn on the phone while I have the map on the stock display. Ram mount is the way to go.

Watching this again 2 years later and the Valet portion just blew me away. The locking screen is so cool. BUT I would never Valet my current Lexus ES 300 and I certainly would NEVER valet my C7 when I get one when I retire !! Nearly 30 years ago I used a valet at a catering hall and a young kid who worked for the valet company took my car and totaled it. Most ridiculous situation and I’ve never used a valet since. I’d rather park it myself and walk

One thing you forgot to mention, when in velet mode, the glove compartment is locked as well. I assumed every owner knew all of these things but judging from the comments, it looks like you helped quite a few folks out. Good post man.

scott barker Thank you, and welcome to the Brink of Speed community! They won’t get more responsive by doing anything to them. The faster you go, the faster they will shift. Meaning, the harder you push on the gas, the faster the car will shift. At slow speeds, they have a huge delay.

@@BrinkofSpeed thancs 4 the timely responce mr.brink-0-speed......im checkin in-2 a speed shop that says he can tune the transm. 2 shift didderently....but more responsive at lower speeds around town where moast of my driving is...ill find out next week when i take it 2 him...he is also going to put the car on the dyno...the motor is stoc...9500 mi. ive put an afe cold air intake on it + a x-pipe from west coast corvette..+ lastly n the best thing ive had done is ..yep the muffler delete...wow what a nice didderence..lots more pops n crackells in between shifts...

I knew most of that but it never hurts to review especially if you are an old guy. Tennessee Law starts 1 July 2019... DO NOT GET CAUGHT WITH IT IN YOUR HAND WHILE DRIVING. I chose WeatherTech since I do not want anything stuck to my dash. I lost a Garmin on quick acceleration as it came off the dash destroying itself on the gearshift knob. Phone destination seems to be the quickest since all you have to do is talk to the phone. Probably need to transfer to the GPS for long trips.

You will enjoy the Dragon Mike. Be sure you stop at the gift shop and see the tree of shame. If you have the time you need to do the Devil's Triangle it is a bit more scary. Both roads are patrolled. You will also get the chance to purchase photos of your car on the Dragon.

Another option for a phone mount that uses the passenger handle in the middle is from iO Mounts, that’s what I have and works great.

Excellent! Very beautiful design C7. Will be very missed! GMC should have offered the C7 front mid-engine style and a C7 with a rear mid-engine style. The C8 should have bean a whole new design in a Grand Sport and Z06 style only.

Since the SD card slot is in the main glove box (on the passenger side) can anyone with the FOB open the glove box and remove the SD card? Or does the main glove box remain locked until the valet mode pass code is entered? I have a C7 ZR1 and that came to mind while watching the video, although I have yet to use the valet feature. I ask since simply removing the SD card would prevent recording. Or will the car even start without an SD card inserted if valet mode is active? I'm a pilot and I sometimes tell people (jokingly) that this car is more complex than some aircraft I've flown.

Cassie Spencer Great question. The SD card cannot be removed while in valet mode because the glove box is locked until the passcode is entered. It’s awesome that you own a C7 ZR1, they are an amazing machine! These cars are sometimes quite complicated for sure. 😊
