Loco's pre-season analysis of FlyQuest, while certainly fair based on what we knew at the time, is exactly why 'big names' don't mean shit sometimes. Personalities meshing together, synergy as a team, mental attitude and approach to the game, etc.. is far more important. A player can look like absolute crap on some teams, and turn into a complete monster on another. Santorin has never looked great on most NA teams, but he was quite good this year. Part of that is certainly due to PoE, but the fact they could synergize together like that is impressive. FLY was greater than the sum of their parts, basically. Teams full of 'all stars' can often fail, because it's too many players all thinking they are 'the man' and expecting the team to play around them. Fly had players willing to play their roles, and play them well. Even if that meant they give up farm, die for teammates, etc..
@AAGEnzee4 жыл бұрын
The only analysis that I originally disagreed with Loco on, was EG. I thought 3 of them having played together on C9 would give them some added synergy, and that Bang is experienced enough to fit with an existing team style. That only left Jizuke as a question mark, and I thought he definitely has the skill. Long as him and Sven worked together, they'd do well. Depending on how that synergy went, I figured they were between a 4th to 6th team, and they slightly over performed my best guess.
