That is impressive, but in the first game he had no trouble beating Rhino AND Scorpion at the same time, it is strange that here he couldn't stop him despite the insane arsenal of gadgets up his sleeve. His webs can stop trucks and hold literal tons of weight, a simple web bomb to Rhino's feet should've stopped him. An easy fix for this inconsistency would be to make it so that Peter throws Miles off of Rhino before they rush into the gas tank to save him, which would then result in the explosion that knocks Peter out, instead of Peter being knocked out by Rhino, this also improves on the narrative not just by making it more consistent, but also now Peter saves Mile's bacon directly, but Miles is also there to return the favor and it's also much more impactful emotionally to Miles as a character where his mentor almost died trying to save him.

The whole rhino situation at the beginning of Spiderman Miles Morales is freaking good. That is the best way to start a game. It establishes the main character, setting, the villians (roxxon) and important story factors such as Miles Venom Sting. All contained in awesome action with multiple great set peices. Capped off with an amazing boss fight with rhino

A lot of people really underestimate how powerful Peter Parker Spider-Man really is. Not only was he pretty powerful from the get go but as Spider Totems age (technical name for human-spider cross species chosen by the Spider-Gods, yes... I know the theme was kinda the "everybody needs help even spiderman" thing, but in my opinion it felt like he was getting severely injured way to often in the insomniac game. I understand that he is still human and he gets hurt from time to time but he gets saved so often that its kinda hard to believe that he was spiderman for 8 years without being killed at some point

To be fair, In the first one, Peter was slapping everyone around, until he was stung by Scorpion’s tail, since wearing him. In the second one, he was weakened, and tired from fighting Martin Lee, and he wasn’t even trying to throw hands with otto. He was just trying to escape with the cure. And the third one, was just Rhino running into an explosion. All in all he hasn’t ever had to fight the villains when they team up like that.

I think the point in the first game was that the stakes were higher than they’d ever been there- Peter hadn’t experienced a disaster at that scale at all. Peter clearly does have a lot of close calls, too. MJ makes commentary abt how often Peter has nearly died since the very beginning. The Sinister Six fight is kind of the beginning of the second to final chapter of the game, and story wise they want it to be clear that the gloves are off. Peter HAS to get beat there as well, because otherwise the Sinister Six isn’t going to get off Ryker’s and enact Doc Ock’s plan. Later, Peter gets taken out by Doc because he just got finished fighting Mister Negative and was distracted by the cure, while also having been stopping fights in the streets and the rest of the Six while having 14 broken bones still. He was not at the top of his game in the slightest. Then Doc slams him around like a wet towel and stabs him with his claws, and Peter gets put out of commission. That scuff between the two is also partly a battle of will, bc that cure is the culmination of both Doc and Spidey’s goals, and Doc won out at the time. Peter doesn’t even know Aunt May is sick at this point, he’s tired, he’s frustrated and distracted, perfect storm. Peter is at his tankiest when he’s angry or desperate, and he really hadn’t reached that second wind yet by that time in the story.

Stan wouldn't be disappointed. Peter has died multiple times throughout the comics. That's one of the main reasons Miles becomes Spider-Man (in the comics, not the 2020 game) they probably won't kill Peter yet, but considering Miles is now in the games, and Norman Osborn is notorious for becoming the Goblin, everything lines up, and Insomniac could definitely pull off killing Peter. Spider-Man would still be an ongoing game series tho, since Miles could take the mantle. Plus they could just move to a completely new universe or alternate reality. Or time travel like in Edge of Time. But I wouldn't expect Peter to die any time soon. I'm sure Sony executives are bathing in money from both Miles & Peter's Spider-Man games.

I feel like that spider man edge of time is one of the best games in the series in my opinion. ( I got the game I think sometime in 2013 for my Xbox 360, and I still play the game on the Xbox 360 360 to this day, it still is one of my favorites!)
