clear Karo/water around 50/50 makes a great "beader" in a mister and won't dry away. I've even used it with the dulling spray. You can use the water absorbing plastic gel beads (used in flower arranging) as crushed ice. I keep both gold and silver foil board for back reflectors; the gold works great for beer and darker spirits and the silver works well for clear and also wines.

As a still photographer starting out in the food & beverage niche, this is by far my favorite B&H video, mad props to them for recognizing Steve for the master that he is. This is also one of my favorite Garage / Giralt videos, although the burger flip is hard to beat! Thank you B&H and Steve. 👍✌️🔥

One of the things we used to do was to use a slightly bigger piece of silver (or gold) cardboard, and then trim down any excess cardboard showing around the sides of the glass (or bottle). This allowed us to maximise the amount of light reflected through the beverage. Thank you for an interesting and engaging video!

Good info! Used glycerin for years. You can use an eye droper if you need large controled drips. Remember, if using flash, turn off your modeling light if you use the LEDs as a kicker for detail. You will need to drag your shutter to see the light, based on the ktemp difference, or just use hot lights. Bottom line, have fun experimenting.

Thanks for a lot of tips. Can you share some links to suppliers of the tiny led panels you use to place behind the glass? Preferrably in Europe if available.

Kick ass. What a great little video. Love that it was fast, direct and very smart in an order that is how I would start and continue building on the products placement based on the affects I was going to us, then add another. Good job Steve. Great delivery. Do you have a video or opinions of the simple table top (ala restaurant food on plate for video and stills?

Most face mists aren’t just water - they have Glycerin as well you can use your own misting bottle it’s about 10 parts water to 1 part glycerine I use a Powered sprayer from an art supply store to create Effects over objects like Rings and such I like them because they keep misting while you hold the lever But it’s not as bad for the environment I use just Water in that I have a non power smaller misting bottle for glycerin as it makes nicer droplets that last longer on surfaces I use an Eye dropper and have an about 6:1 mix in that for like big water drops on a leaf reflecting the world type of deal

what kind of lens would you suggest for filming a cocktail?
@BandH
@BandH 3 жыл бұрын
The right lens would depend on the sensor size of your camera, but normal or telephoto macro lens could work, especially if you're trying to show more detail. We invite you to contact us via Live Chat today on our website until 8PM ET so we can go over the various options based on your camera system.
