5 tips for biking in a car-centric city

What other tips y’all got?
It takes time to learn how to navigate car-centric cities on a bicycle, but don’t be scared! Well, don’t be too scared-being a little scared is probably wise. You can learn, too. After some time it becomes second nature, just like driving can. And in my opinion, an e-bike helps a ton for multiple reasons.

Kind of an offshoot of your first point, but I recommend considering using the outskirts of parking lots to circumnavigate stroads and conflict areas

I agree with that to an extent the outskirts of parking lots can work. However, parking lots can also act as a potential death trap if you are trying to travel through to get to certain destinations. Example Transcona Costco leading to the Transcona trail.
