Good tips and great video! Tip #6 For visitors from Los Estados Unidos. Don't be impatient or rude when a shop keeper or wait staff is talking to another patron. The culture is slower, more relaxed and friendly. Don't be in a rush or interrupt people to get waited on sooner. Most visitors from The United States have no patience, and get frustrated waiting to be helped. Life is short, relax, relax, relax!

LOL! I was a good looking young man like this guy, back in 1990, but life goes on. Years pass and we either get old or we die. The trick is to make sure you get something of real value for every year of your youth you have to give up. That way your life becomes progressively better with each passing year. You don't necessarily have to get a high powered career to get ahead, but you do have to learn to live within your means. I've optimized that down to a science, living comfortably on 30% of my mechanic wages. Investments pile up and debt gets paid down. And now I'm ready to retire (at 54). I'm taking the rest of my life as a permanent vacation, starting in a week or two. It will be like having summer vacation again. I hardly remember what it's like but I can't wait to experience it again. ♫ ♫ School's out forever!!♫ ♫

Great video and thank you for encouraging my wife and myself to take it to the next level in life, to take the risk and commit to the adventure. I am 72 years old my wife is 65 years old and your videos are Inspiration for us to continue an adventurous lifestyle. We've traveled to 35 countries and by seeing how you take on the challenges has given us the courage to do things that we have not felt comfortable doing. The bottom line we are getting out of the comfort zone. What advice would you give us? You're doing it and thank you for what you're doing it is appreciated all.

Good tips. We do try to support the local businesses and yes, we do use the bus except with our luggage, it's a bit difficult using it to and from the airport. My tip would be- If you're staying at a resort, forget all inclusive! Get off the resort and experience all the amazing restaurants Puerto Vallarta has to offer! And support the live music!

That's awesome to hear! Yeah I hear you about the luggage - they don't really like that, lol. But I totally agree with you, you gotta get out there and explore all areas of and around PV 👍🏼

I went to Mexico for the first time August 2017 and had the experience of staying in Puerto Vallarta. It was amazing. I absolutely fell in love with the people and the culture. I stayed in town on the hill in an airbnb for a week then the next week i stay on the complete opposite side in the resort. The resort wasnt really for me. I loved the real experience so much better. My parents are going to Mexico again soon and im so mad i cant go this time but i hope to go back next year for my senior year or after that🙂❤️

Great "tips" video about PV. I have visited PV for the past 20 + years and am going this December for one month to experience what it would be like to "live" in a Mexican tourist town. I am staying in three areas of downtown, Alta Vista, Benito Juarez and Gringo Gulch. I want to experience each area to see which area I prefer to enjoy in the future and possible purchase to a house/condo. Another tip would be to go on one of the taco food tours which expose visitors to the many street vendor carts. The food is fantastic and people will understand how cleanliness is top priority for the cart owners. I plan to cook in my accommodations to experience the "living in Mexico" feel, but I know this may be difficult knowing there is a cart on the street with great food calling my name. lol

@corywhittlesey6 жыл бұрын
Ron Lee its all dependent on where you go to eat, but if you shop at supermarkets/Walmart, you don’t choose to live by the main tourist area, and take the US$0.25 bus, it can be significantly cheaper than a lot of places around the world.

Looking through Airbnb, and finding the places rather expensive for Mexico. Is there any place you can suggest? I want to spend about 2 months there.
@corywhittlesey6 жыл бұрын
I would suggest looking just outside the city centers of larger towns/cities first. If there aren’t any in your price range at that point, I would be flexible with what time you are looking to go. If it’s less than two months away, someone only has to book one night for a monthly listing to go away. Booking further in advance is better.

Thanks for the insight. My family is planning to visit PV to see if we want to live there for awhile. Did you see any bands with drummers? I love latin music but, I mostly play Blues, Funk, Rock, etc. Are there many venues for that? I would probably prefer latin music given the opportunity for a change. My wife is a swimmer. Did you happen to notice any health clubs with a lap pool? How about older kids on skateboards? Our son is 15. He also does Parkour which may be difficult to find there. Were there many organic restaurants or markets? Thanks and sorry so many questions. :)
@corywhittlesey7 жыл бұрын
Hey Tim! No worries, hopefully I'm able to answer all of them 😄 Firstly, PV usually doesn't have very much of a nightlife -- only a little if you're right on the Malecon (main walking street right next to the bay). And from what I can recall, I didn't see many bands performing, unless there was a music festival happening down there. But that doesn't mean it isn't possible to form a band and create a good scene! As for a lap pool, I knew of one just outside the PV center in Pitillal. Here's the link: www.pvscene.com/1879/olympic-pool-in-puerto-vallarta/ Lots of the streets are old-school Spanish style -- rocks with concrete around them. Quite bumpy, so not too good to skate around. But, I know of one good skate park close to downtown. Not too many people there. I only eat organic foods, so yes, there are some around if you take the time to search them out. For groceries, the two most reliable places are Organic Select and Organicos del Puerto. Organic Select has the most produce in PV. Costco is good for packaged foods as well. To eat, Organic Select, Salud Super Food, Planeta Vegetariano, Macai Superfood and Playa Detox are the best. Hope this helps!

when is the best time to go over Puerto Vallarta, when it's not to hot?
@corywhittlesey6 жыл бұрын
That’s a great question! In my opinion, the best time to go is just after the load of Spring Break tourists have left but you hit that sweet spot before the rain comes in June. So, to answer your question, my opinion is March, April, May. If you don’t mind all the tourists and want it a little cooler, January should be your choice.
