Wow, I really enjoyed this vlog. I used to shop at the market in my town Mandeville before moving to the US. I used to go every Saturday with my grandma. I loved going there and getting the fresh meat and produce. All organic. I miss it. Also your mom is gorgeous.

Your mom looks so young and this information was very helpful. My cousin was telling me that when she goes to the market sometimes with her work clothes and speaks 'propa' they'd raise the price so she'd have to buss out her accent so they'd give her a fair price. This is really good vlogging! So authentic. It reminds me of when I used to live in Jamaica. Only parts my grandparents were farmers so they grew their own animals and food too . The pigs were fed ground food and natural stuff too. The chickens grew longer.

I agree with you, but there is more to it. Because black people are not community minded, we cannot leverage group economics. I’ve been to China. Mortgages are not common there. Family members get together & LEND each other the funds. Same in Indian households. These groups are able to ban together to get access to large sums of money! You need large sums of money to set up meaningful businesses & to be able to purchase in large volumes. Black people cannot do that because they do not come together, meaning if a one man sets up a business, it’s highly likely he cannot compete with the Chinese because they buy in bulk=cheaper goods. Customers buy where goods are cheaper because of low disposable income. I love to see this on a local level. But I want my people to think globally. Stop buying these worthless bags, sneakers, makeup, fashionova crap. Get together. Funnel that money into building businesses so that we have economic power & can make bigger moves in this world.

This is exactly how I remember the meat markets growing up in Guyana. The best meats. Now Guyana also has supermarkets. The reason the KFC is best in the west indies is because the meats are fresher and the animals are grass fed as in the states.

Listen I can definitely attest to spending more than I need in the market because when I go there's always everything I would want to get and you start seeing other things that you haven't seen or eaten in a while and the rest is history I used to spend so much money in the market it's not funny at all.
