The doctors and nurses have armed you with a six-page instruction document, and now it’s time to take your recovery to your home court. You’re finally home! Now what?
I remember looking out the window on the drive home, wondering how the heck I was going to manage on my own. Well… It wasn’t easy, but I did it, and you will too! To help you out, I have 5 tips to help you recover from ostomy surgery at home.

3 weeks after my ostomy.Thankyou for your tips I am still trying to process it as it was an emergency operation, so it has been a big shock, but I am still here, so very thankful for that.

I’m about to have a colostomy. It is very helpful to see others who have gone through this too! I had an illeostomy for three months. This will be permanent. Thanks for all the help you give!

The best things I did for myself was to find others that were also going through what I was. No one want to feel alone. Wishing you a speedy recovery. You got this!

Great tips! I just had my surgery March 15 (subtotal colectomy with ileostomy. Keeping it permanently but have decided no "barbie butt" surgery in the works for me for a very long time. Just a personal decision due to bad healing) I definitely needed these! The IBD/ostomy community part on Instagram has been invaluable to me! I love your vids so far! Positive and informative and love your sense of humor!

My hubby is getting a temp ileostomy. He is a bigger guy, and I am trying to figure out what pants or shorts work best right after surgery. I assume no elastic waists.. thoughts? Thank you so much for your video.

No question loose fitting pants will be more comfortable to start but he should be able to wear whatever he wants eventually. I hope everything went well and your husband is on the road to recovery!

Hey. This was so awesome. I've been trying to look for KZbin video similar to yours that educates everything in this KZbin video.Your breakdown really reminds me of the content from Dr Ethan! His tips are totally useful and I actually learned a lot for my studies. He is the most knowledgable Doctor in Europe and he teaches conditions.
