Wow, where to start?! Angie is a very gorgeous woman period. The very first feature I noticed was her beautiful eyes! BUT, she also has amazing lips! I wish mine had that volume! Maybe they will have a little more someday! 😜 And her hair! I dream of hair like hers. 😊 Thank you for doing this, Angie! You are beautiful ! ❤ Poor Tara Reid. And I mean that with the most compassion. She’s had some serious beauty fails over the years. Some not her fault. The difference in makeup application between her and Jennifer Aniston is a fantastic lesson. Just follow Jennifer’s style and we can’t go wrong-ever! I have a genetic condition that effects my connective tissues and as I age, I’m starting to struggle with steadiness in my hands. I don’t have the fine motor skills I used to. It makes eye makeup especially hard. I’ve been moving more and more towards minimalistic looks. All your tips are spot on. I use these and I look way better than trying to do a smokey eye. That just doesn’t work anymore! I absolutely agree with lash primer before mascara! Huge difference! Bronzer is still a struggle for me to get the placement right. I think I’ve found my solution with the right brand, color, and a better foundation shade. Thank you for doing this one, Gabri! I hope there are more!!❤🤗🥰🌹

Girl I stopped using powder foundation in my 30s. I stopped coloring my hair at 51. I'm going on 55 this year. More salt than pepper. I recently cut bangs to hide the furrow lines. Brighter lipsticks balance the silver hair, subtle eye shadows because I wear glasses. I started taking 50+ vitamins going through perimenopause, and now I'm over that hill. I've never had as many compliments on my hair, the "color", the cut, and my complexion as I've had the last three dye free years. Nature really does give us the color we're supposed to have. I've gone to a single, soft shimmer just on my lids as they're hooded, simple smoked eyeliner, and it works. The shimmer gives a brightness behind my glasses. I still use Double Wear and still get compliments. Basically, we need to do what works for us. This works for me. I'm still glam, just older and more sparkly.

I'm 39 and have been doing the same for my eyes for several years now because it just looks better than any heavy/ dark makeup look now that my creases aren't as perky as they used to be. Really makes a difference, just stick to lid/lashline and brow bone ONLY!

At about 47 to 55 had to change foundation color and started using a fine milled powder that does not fall into lines like other powders. Use lot less makeup. Brown liquid eyeliner over dark brown eyes and light brownish/tan eyeshadow. Gold/rose color on cheeks light dusting. takes about 5 minutes. like this better than earlier makeup in 20 and 30s.

I'm a make up artist and beauty therapist 26 years now. EVERYTHING you said is spot on. I cannot tell you how many times I have done mature faces and spent the whole time repeating this advice to my ladies. The higher level technical advice like colour correction advice is confusing for many. Some come back for longer consults because they never learned how to use products, tools and techniques properly. Time gets by, and you just stick to what you know. And very often, what you learned in your teens. And we know this is not great practise. The principle of less is more and looking dewey and diffused instead of chalky and dull is what you want as you age. Don't be afraid of a pop of colour on eyes OR Lip. Choose ONE to enhance. Especially choose the right blush. Cream blush goes on cream foundation. And if I may add one tip. Hydrating or luminising setting spray at the end. It melts in nicely and sets your make up with flexibility and staying power. And a good tip to choose your foundation if you have aged freckly skin. Ask at your make up counter for assistance to match the tone of product between your slightly darker freckling and your base skin tone. Your new foundation with blend beautifully between the two. Switch to a brush for application. Not fingers. It may also be beneficial to ask your aesthetician about a lash and brow tint. And for those ladies with disappearing brows, a subtle tattooing can do wonders. There are also amazing little hooded eye tapes you can buy to support a hooded eye all day. They can barely be seen and make up gets applied over them. Amazing little things. And if you do need lashes, stick to a few individuals applied on the edges. Or cut about 1/4 or so inches of the end of a full strip and just use these and the end. Thank you Gabi. Great educators like you are rare. And to have such kindness in your approach with words to us over 50's is what we need to hear in a world where we feel we are becoming invisible and irrelevant. Most of us are dealing with changing bodies we do not recognise. And the feeling of insecurities and lack of confidence that often comes at this stage of life. Also, your model is stunning. I'll bet she rocked some amazing make up looks in her youth too!

switching away from matte makeup as i've gotten older has been a huge change for me. After having oily skin for most of my life & always using mattifying products, i came to find that as i got older, my skin was no longer oily & I had to start moving to more moisturizing & luminous products. Game. Changer.!

Angie is naturally gorgeous and, Gabi, your tips - especially about hydration and using creams instead of powders - make sense. Thank you! I’d love to see Angie with your version of a no-makeup look (but with makeup). I’ve always been a minimal or no-makeup girl but I’m 57 now and need correction, especially around my eyes. A pleasure to watch. I too have been guiding woman with makeup that supports their beauty for many, many years. I think one note I would add would be about shimmery products in general which enhance any lines and crepiness. There is a big difference between products that are luminous, pearlescent, shimmery, frosty and glittery. I find the first two can add a beautiful "lit from within" benefit while all of the latter are typically not kind. I love a touch of luminosity on the top of cheekbones and the very center of the eyelid for most. Another really helpful tip is a light spritz of hydration like rosewater to both set and add dewiness to a finished look. I do this before mascara. I'm going to try the concealer and powder on the lid before everything else again. In the past I've found that it's good at first but eventually creases. And I love to continually learn and experiment as we are continually transforming as we unfold. Thank you for your respectful language. I encourage my clients to shoot for healthy and glowing vs anything specific to an age range.

While your tips are generally all correct, to each their own. I'll be 60 in April but still have oily skin. Powder foundation is awesome for me! I do use a setting spray at the end to ensure I don't have a powdery look. I have some liquid foundations but they don't set on my skin and I stay sticky all day long - even my hair sticks to my face even after using a setting powder! No ma'am, powder foundation is where it's at - for me. I still love your videos and appreciate all of the tips - you rock!!

She has an amazing lip line! The only part of this finished look that didn’t do it for me was the foundation: it seemed to sit in the lines around her mouth prominently when she wasn’t smiling. I used to wear makeup whenever I just stepped out the door, two years ago I bought high quality derma pen and started doing sessions at home. that little device changed my skin in a way that I am not wearing makeup any longer. I have tried almost everything to look younger, anything from face exercises, vitamin C serum, Fraxel, collagen supplements, retin A etc. However, nothing made any real difference compared to this. Within 3 months of use (Every 3 weeks), my skin has improved DRAMATICALLY. I don't look like I'm in my 20s again, but definitely not 58 either. My fine lines have disappeared completely, and my nasolabial folds are way less prominent/nonexist. People often underestimate the power of wounding and the revolutionary effects it can have on the skin.

I kept trying to find that perfect nude, wasted a lot of $$ before I finally realized that all it did was wash out my face color. I hear you on the hair thing. I'm the eldest of four sisters, and my oldest sister was constantly telling me, as I approached and passed 40, that I needed to cut my hair shorter because women over 40 were "too old" to have long hair. I ignored her. For years. Now I'm 66 and she's 63, and guess who still has hair down past her shoulders? Mm hmm, that's right - she does. Mine's just above my shoulders because that's the easiest length for me. It was real funny how quiet she got about age & hair length as she went over THAT age bump, lol!

I just turned 52 and I have always suffered with dark under eye circles. I use the Mac Prep and Prime in bright forecast under my eye and on the lid too. Once that dries down, I find I only need the tiniest amount of concealer. I don't like to wear eye shadow, so I skip that step. I spray Urban Decay all nighter onto my ring fingers and set my under eye makeup with it. I have very fine lines and they are undetectable with this method. I can wear it for 12 hours in the Florida humidity and it stays in place.

That is also the colour corrector I used! I have never ever thought about using Urban Decay all nighter as an under eye setting spray. That is actually brilliant! I am going to try that next time. I also use that in my kit! Thank you for taking the time to comment and leave such wonderful feedback.

Thank you for these wonderful tips. I just turned 50 last month and after 19 years of chronic pain and disability it is fair to say I feel double my years physically so I need all the help I can get. I am also coming out of 2 and a half year of Long Covid hair loss so it's been a challenge. Throughout it all I have tried to do the best I can with skincare etc to try and do what I can do at least have some control back. I have recently ditched nearly all face powders and they way I use to apply them as they really do age you and I am trying to find products that are really flattering on my mature skin as what you loved in your 30s, 40s is not necessarily what you need in your fifties.

Absolutely wonderful video! You cover all the bases and enhance an already lovely woman into achieving her best self. Loved the "Don't Do This" application. As a 70 year old woman who lives in Florida in the single largest 55+ community in America, I see the "Don't Do" on a very regular basis. LOL Thank you Gabi for the excellent content and desire to help us more mature gals rock our age without trying to hide it!😘Roberta

Thank you for your kind message Roberta! Yes, it is so easy to cycle into the "Don't do" category because we get used to doing our makeup the same for years and years and years and then we don't adjust it as we age because that is just what we are used to. I am even a victim of it myself! It is easy to resort to what you're used to but what works in your 20s, doesn't work in your 30s and then that doesn't work in your 40s and on and on. Changing a few things can make all of the difference in the world. :)

Angie is gorgeous and such a rockstar for being willing to be the demonstrative model for how some of the makeup practices we used earlier in life don't serve us as we mature. I love the final look and can't agree enough on focusing on moisture/hydration! Drinking plenty of water and getting good consistent rest are also key as we mature and help our skin look more radiant and firm. Yay - I saw the Tymo and it made me smile! I find that sometimes women try too hard to keep the same hair color they had in their 29s which actually makes them look harsh. Lighter hair colors lighten up the face masking fine lines. As long as you have a good haircut and a nice style and keep your hair clean and conditioned this helps too. Thanks for the great tips.👍🏻

@@sunshineeveryday9873 it’s a sign of menopause w/ loss of estrogen so kind of like “Hi, I’m likely older” obviously some ladies struggle with the issue prior to menopause but we almost all suffer from thinner hair on our head but gain it on the face & it can effect the way your makeup sits.

Doesn't shaving hair make it grow in thicker?
@danielleS257
@danielleS257 2 жыл бұрын
@@newhope8433 no. Wives take. Some women have taken to full on shaving w/ a razor & cream or foam like men traditionally do. Men tend to age better than women inspire if not using all the skin care because they shave off dead skin every day. If the idea doesn’t appeal to you dermaplanning is a little less. Small thin razor meant to combat the finer facial hair (peach fuzz) of women. Obviously you have to keep up with it or the hair does come back but it is nice to have smooth skin. My hair is very blonde/white so it’s easier to not “see” it but when I dermaplane, I’m like good grief, it’s like cleaning out your dryer lint screen, there’s so much, surprisingly. Read up on it.

I’m 50 next year. I’m totally at the “why do I bother” phase. I’m a Goth so subtle make-up is NEVER happening, I’d rather wear none. @@LouciferFlump That could be a medical condition. Maybe your insurance would pay for the correction. Eye lid surgery is not that complicated (a nose job would be for instance). But if the eye lid is drooping really bad it can get irritating and then correction is often paid for.
