I am not ashamed to admit that the pandemic really destroyed my motivation to put a little effort in my appearance since I am home most of the time. I need this kind of video to find again the desire to look put together and chic, even at home it just takes a little to avoid looking frumpy, as Bethany perfectly showed! I noticed mentally I feel better when I take a minute to pick out an outfit (and don't thrown on the first thing that I see lying around) even if it is only to go buy groceries hehehe!

I often hear comments about being around the house wearing red lipstick and perfume, those are things that I do just because I like to feel clean and a little bit put together... but the clothes were never following the same pattern of self care. After meeting you, Bethany, this concept changed drastically. I just love to feel great about myself at all times and in every way possible! Thank you so much for helping me with the best choices I can make, that changed everything ❤️

My great grandmother was always put together and chic at home, and she also got criticised but I noticed everyone who criticised her looked run-down and bitter. I suppose they felt a little jealous of her :3 Anyway I always admired that about her. I think it's about self-love, she made an effort because she valued herself. It's wonderful you do that too, I wish I did so with the same determination everyday.

These are such good tips!!! Another cozy-but-cute cold weather tip from a Wisconsinite is to experiment with shapewear, slips, and nylons. I'll still wear dresses and skirts when it's -20 here and the secret to doing that is the following. First, a pair of sheer to semi-opaque nylons in a shade that matches/kind of matches your skin tone. Then a pair of nylons or tights in whatever color you want to show (I normally do sheer light nude followed by ultrasheer black nylons). Then I'll usually put on a light shaping bodysuit, my shirt or sweater, a half slip to tuck the shirt into it, then my skirt on top. If I'm wearing a dress I put a full slip on after the bodysuit and then the dress on top of that. Slips and shapewear also avoid that weird bumpiness from bra/panty lines and wrinkles from tucking a sweater into a skirt, and anti-static slips prevent skirts/dresses from sticking to your tights. This type of layering is warm enough for winter walks, which I can confidently say because I live on Madison's isthmus so I walk pretty much everywhere. But it's not so bulky and layered that I'm sweltering inside; a major issue with a lot of cold weather layering tips is that the second you step inside you're dripping sweat and covered in freezing cold sweat all day, which is decidedly "not comfy" :)

Genuine question- with a bodysuit & 2 pairs of tights under all the clothes, do you have to strip down to use the restroom? Sounds daunting in that respect, but I'm trying to work it out in my mind.

Hi Bethany, I can totally relate to putting on some comfy clothes, & getting under the covers with a cup of hot tea. I especially like the monochromatic sweats! I am 5’3’ with similar body proportions so your suggestions are very helpful! Stay warm!

Hey Bethany, loved this video. Wanted to say that there are flesh-colored fleece tights out there that help when wearing skirts. It still looks like your skin (if you put regular black tights over them) but keeps you warm.

I really love your way of styling neutrals. So chic as well as edgy. Your way of presenting makes it so easy to follow these styles practically! Would you please make a video on jewellery suitable for pear shaped body? It's really difficult to choose the right kind of necklaces whether layered or pendant being a petite pear one, like its length, number of layers or even the trending chain statement necklaces which I really doubt before choosing :( So, would love to hear your suggestions on it.

I found the layering-under-sweaters tip quite funny because I come from a country where it would never occur to anyone to wear a sweater over bare skin. For a start, you shouldn't be washing your wool and cashmere much at all, whereas your cotton/lighter fabric layers can be washed frequently. Also, what if you get too warm at some point and need to shed a layer? Is this really an uncommon practice??
@iremozbay53943 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say it's an uncommon practice, but I feel like many people (me included) just find it easier to put one sweater on and leave rather than layer since it takes more effort to both put on and take off. I know, real lazy :)
3 жыл бұрын
@@iremozbay5394 haha fair enough! I think my approach is simply because I live in a country where the weather is unpredictable and layering essential 😂 not only might you get too warm but your outer layer might get soaked in rain 😬😬
@sakshimisri95893 жыл бұрын
Wearing a tee under a sweater is very normal for me. I couldn't imagine anyone not doing it. I live in north India , winter temperature is around 10-2deg C. So it's natural to layer tee n sweater and then puffer when stepping out.

i want to get some asian house slippers. we would always be offered these when we visited my mum's asian friends. we didn't have them in our house though, my mum's family in malaysia just walked around barefoot and in our house it was barefoot or socks. nothing wrong with that but i think it would push me to vacuum obsessively, even though i grew up without wearing slippers! i guess when it was my mum's responsibility to clean, i always felt like i could trust the floor to be clean lol.

Would love to see more options for cool skin tones. Black and ivory just drain me therefore I would need to steer more towards navys and whites as well as gem stone colours like pink, blue, purple etc. I love your channel but find a lot of the options are more directed to warmer skin tones.
