OMG! This is going to save me a ton of time! I had no idea you could make folders for your media or add notes for editing in later steps. JJ thank you so much!!

When returning home from filming, I immediately transfer all footage to my laptop then into a Filmora project. I leave it running while I do other things or while I sleep so the proxy files create. Then when I edit on a later date, I can just jump straight into it. This is great if you pre film and have 200 shots per video. You don't have to waste time each time before editing waiting for proxies. Regarding the last point, when I was a beginner, I edited in stages, but once experienced, I can do everything at once except colour correction and graphics, I normally do that last

@Wondershare Filmora Video Editor Thanks for this tutorial - it's really helpful! Let me share my tip: my workflow has been greatly improved since I engaged a midi controller to trigger keyboard shortcuts. I am working on a Mac and using the old Panorama P1 midi controller. The mapping is done using the CommndPost application. My main rules and the most frequently used shortcuts are: * Set In point * Set Out point * add a clip to the timeline (Overwrite) * copy / paste effects * zoom in / out * go to / next previous marker. * play / stop * trim start / end to playhead * change speed and duration All these functions are mapped to the physical buttons on the midi controller. Of course, I'm still using some shortcuts on the laptop keyboard. Now editing, especially pre-selecting and cutting parts of source clips from gopro has become very smooth and easy. @FilmoraWondershare

The fourth and fifth tip seem extremely useful. It takes me like 4 hours to edit a 25 minute video. I normally edit everything all at once, that includes cropping and zooming, sound effects, and music until I reach the end of the full clip. I think editing in stages will make everything more manageable and less time consuming👍🏽

@luongvuong79822 жыл бұрын
@@FilmoraWondershare Thanks for the reply. I want to learn the common mistakes that video editors can make when they do not have workflow compared to having one. I'm new to editing and sometimes I struggle when editing my videos the steps of how I can edit better/quicker. For example, if I record 10 video clips from my GoPro and load them into Filmora should I just copy all 10 into 1 video track then edit each 1 by 1. What should one consider when removing stuff you don't need and to keep? Also when you are editing the videos should this align with the narrative of what you are trying to show people? Sorry for the questions, just wanted to share my thoughts. I really enjoy working with Filmora as I'm still new and user-friendly for me at least.

To learn shortcut keys, I suggest mousing over the action you want to perform. The associated shortcut will be displayed next to the action name. Then use the shortcut key instead of clicking the name. It should not take long to learn and start using the shortcut keys without taking the time to move the cursor to the desired action. Let me know what you think.

I wish I could select all videos and modify all of their audio as one with a right click option. Example, I had a dozen or so clips that I wanted to customize the audio, I had to manually click on each and every one. Would be nice to have a "template" or just the ability to modify all the audio attributes like volume or custom audio like I just mentioned, etc.

This is helpful a lot! My problem is: I'm sure im doing it incorrectly is after I have made my video for upload and close it out Im incorrectly saving it. If I want to come back to it many of the elements are gone ie. the background photos, or the green screen recording of me playing (I do guitar instrumentals). does putting everything into folders alleviate this? I assume I need to save the work in Filmora. (9) is the version I am using. I guess my general question is how to you save the project after you are done so you can go back to it at a later date and everything I used is still there?
@nailsofinterest2 жыл бұрын
If you save as a project Open that project the next time to see stuff you already uploaded. Even can keep an intro. I have several projects saved I'll name for each type of video I do. Say for company A, b, c or Christmas gifts.😊 Hope it helps.💜💖💜
