Sure! Here are five enjoyable activities for the whole family to visit and experience in Stavanger, Norway:
1. Take a Lysefjord Cruise and Experience Pulpit Rock: Embark on an unforgettable adventure by boarding an electric boat and setting sail from downtown Stavanger to the magnificent Lysefjord and Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock). This 3-3.5 hour cruise offers breathtaking views, takes you to Vagabond's Cave, where outlaws once sought refuge, and allows you to witness the awe-inspiring Preikestolen, famous for Tom Cruise's daring climb in Mission Impossible 6. Get up close to the majestic Hengjanefossen waterfall and enjoy encounters with goats at the summer pastures in Lysefjord. Keep your eyes peeled for sunbathing seals on the rocks.
2. Explore Stavanger Sentrum: Discover the vibrant heart of Stavanger in Stavanger Sentrum. Walk along Øvre Holmegate, a charming street adorned with brightly painted houses, and soak up the lively atmosphere at the ferry terminal and marina. Indulge in diverse dining options, ranging from Thai and Indian to Italian cuisine. Enjoy shopping at clothing and sporting goods stores. Don't miss the Norwegian Petroleum Museum, offering interactive exhibits that shed light on Norway's offshore oil industry. For panoramic views of the city and its surroundings, visit the Valberget lookout tower.
3. Wander through Norway's Most Colorful Street: Stroll down Øvre Holmegate, affectionately known as the Color Street (Fargegaten). Transformed in 2005 by a local hairdresser who aimed to create a vibrant environment, this street in the old shopping district of Stavanger boasts a kaleidoscope of colors and charming shops.
4. Visit the Valberg Tower: Explore the Valberg Tower (Valbergtårnet), a historic structure that served as the observation tower and residence for watchmen in Stavanger from 1850 to 1853. Designed by Chr. Grosch, the tower played a crucial role in alerting the town to fires.
5. Experience the Stavanger Maritime Museum: Immerse yourself in the rich maritime heritage of Stavanger at the Stavanger Maritime Museum. Admire beautifully restored ships, learn about seafaring life, and explore exhibits that highlight the city's deep connection to the sea.
These activities promise a memorable and enjoyable time for the entire family in Stavanger, Norway! 🇳🇴

Great way to see the county on a cruise and not a bad day for it either. The waterfalls did look amazing, something I always enjoy seeing and those goats were super tame mind. Now Hengjanefossen waterfall was such a spectacular sight and real cool you were able to get so close to it too. I like the sound of the bus/hike and what a view from the summit you must get. The food looked real nice and not yukky at all but you are never far away from a MacDonald's where ever you go in the world lol. Looked another great day out, cheers Alan

We actually stopped having a "state church" back in 2012 so church and state are separated now. Traditionally Norway is Lutheran. Awesome video😃

Cool. Yes we are two cities grown into 1 but we still feel the identity to our own municipality. You can sort of look at it like a healthy "rivalry" between like a "east vs west" in a city. Though here it would be South vs North. I am a fan of Viking FK (soccer club) which is from Stavanger. Even though Sandnes have its own pro team (but a league below the top flight), Sandnes Ulf. I even played at Sandnes Ulf from 6 to 18 years old. But Viking is my team. My step father took me to all the matches as a kid. Btw Sandnes was not a pro club until late 2000s...when I stopped (Iam 34 now). Also I dont know what you have, but we have paid vacation so of course we take it. Best regards Mads from Sandnes.
