I love watching them too 😁 I hope you like the pen! I know many artists love Lamy pens, but I've always found their nibs too thick for my taste.
@33Jenesis10 ай бұрын
@@NelaDunato Many nibs make thicker lines. Fine line nib that draws lines in consistency is a good alternative to Micron pens. Thank you again for sharing ❤

⚠PSA for native English speakers: Please refrain from "correcting" my pronunciation of Van Gogh. Y'all are always butchering foreign names, and it's so embarrassing when you act like you're in the right. (Dutch folks are by all means allowed to correct me and make fun of me.)
@karenhunt2441 Жыл бұрын
It’s nice to learn the correct way to pronounce names, however, I think you could have taught us without being demeaning.
@NelaDunato Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment, I agree my tone was snarky. I'm quite annoyed by being *repeatedly* "corrected" by commenters and I snapped. But if my tone prevents people from doing it again, I'm fine with it.
@hannahcrumley3103 Жыл бұрын
I thought your comment was a funny way to remind us not to be so harsh on others- I did not find this snarky or demeaning at all! You will never please everyone- people are so easily offended and are so quick to correct everyone else! Just be yourself and don’t worry about it! If people are really paying attention to you they will realize that you have a very sweet nature about you! I appreciate all of your content. It takes an enormous amount of time and effort to share your skills!

Thank you for your kind and understanding comment, Hannah! I appreciate it a lot. I've been online for many, many years so I try not to take every critical word to heart. We can't please everyone, that's for sure!

Well, ya know how we roll. It has to be the way we say 😁 I feel bad for “Brazil”, there has never been a “z” in that Country’s name since Euro colonials stepped foot onto the landscape and named it. It’s Brasil but we insist on a ‘Z’. No mind, you are fine. You keep on pronouncing Van Gogh correctly and ignore those not knowing.

Instead of the rag, I use a piece of old tube sock, fuzzy side out, on my wrist, and wipe my brush on that. Saves having to set down/hold it.
@NelaDunato Жыл бұрын
I bought a sweat band because I saw another artist use it, and it's quite practical and small! I still use the rag at home. But when I used it on location, I'd attach it to the velcro on the case, so I didn't have to hold it if I only had my lap to act as a "table".

At least you don’t use moleskins, which cost a small fortune. 😂 I get the paper is really nice, but for sketching.. you don’t need an expensive sketchbook to sketch, you don’t want that pressure. You can find cheaper, thick weighted paper small sketchbooks that produce the same results.. I’d say use moleskins for art journals or more finished drawing etc if you’re willing to spend the cash... Great kit btw. I have a few similar but I use a military backpack when I’m out walking. I suggest getting used to pen and ink..it really helps you in the long run!
@NelaDunato3 жыл бұрын
I do occasionally use watercolor Moleskines, the small Hahnemühle watercolor sketchbook I show in this video is similar and the price is about the same I think. I don't have lots of options where I live so I take what I can get. Other watercolor sketchbooks (Strathmore, Stillman & Birn) are even more expensive. Most cheaper ones I've tried suck for watercolor, but if you know of a good one, I'm all ears! By pen and ink you mean like bottled India ink? I used it a lot when I was younger, but now I prefer fountain pens and brush pens - much more practical for sketching outside of my studio.

I'm happy to hear that it was helpful! This is specific to drawing & painting outside of home, so my choices are tailored to that... (Fewest items and lowest possible weight.) But if you're only creating at home, you have a lot more flexibility :) And you can use household items such as glass jars, ceramic plates as palettes, etc. instead of buying specialty stuff that's more expensive.
