I take complete exception to the first question. I've seen that one before and each time I say the same thing... The question states that "others have 30 days" - not *_AT LEAST_* 30 days! The question is *_NOT_* "How many months have *_at least_* 28 days?" The question is "How many months have 28 days?" The answer to that is - *_"ONE"._* This is not a trick question at all; but rather a flaming example of how words can be twisted around to match someone's own agenda.

The first two questions' answers are incorrect. The first question lacks 'at least', such as was capitalised in the answer, as such it means that the month has 28 days, not at least 28 days. The correct answer is therefore one month: February. The second sentence is non-sensical due to it being grammatically incorrect. Half is a number. It's a fraction. To divide by a fraction you multiply by the reciprocal, which is reversing the numerator and the denominator. Hence, 30 divided by 1/2 = 30 x 2 = 60. Plus 10 = 70. Or you convert it to a decimal which is 0.5. 30 divided by 0.5 = 60. Did you skip 4th grade?

Btw question 2 could be taken in compleatly different context & is not correct usage of the language of mathematical. Technically the answer should be 12, not 70 & most certainly not 25. In math half does not mean .5. Usually it's in reference to a number, so divide 30 by half would = 30/15 not .5. You could have half represent .5 by adding "of a number" after half, but then you would have to change 30 to thirty because you can't have numbers in English & numerical form! I can see how you would trick someone into thinking of dividing 30 "in" half but technically I think I proved I'm smarter than this video by showing how 30 should clearly be divided by 15 according to the rules of mathematics.

To everyone who's argued the math question here it is, divide 30 by a half, 30 divided by 1/2 = 30/1 divided by 1/2, when dividing fractions you simply invert the divisor, the one doing the dividing, then multiply. So 30/1 divided by 1/2 becomes 30/1 x 2/1 = 60/1 =60, then add 10 as per the question and you get 70. It's a math question and there is no other argument, except that it is a math question and not a trick question at all.

Tricked by his own trick questions! White, as a pigment, is not a color. Divided IN half just doesn't exist. It's gramatically and logically incorrect. You'd have to use "Divided in half" or "Divided by one half" where the half is referred to 1, meaning .5. Also, the 28 day month is logically flawed. If you asked how many have at least 28 it would be fine, but you ask how many have 28. The fact that they contain at least 28 is not relevant in the "how many moths have 28 days" because it's 28+ something, then someone could argue that they all contain 31 days. 31- something will give you a result. It's like asking "how many of these asian people are black" and say after "they're all black because they're all a little bit black".

I'll give the white one. However, ALL months have 28 days, some have 30 some have 31 so is correct. Divide 30 by a half should be the technically correct term - the correct answer in the videos wording would be 12, i.e. divide 30 by half and add 10 = (30 divided by 15) = 2, plus 10 = 12.

Understand how a fixed number causes a logical problem here? Something that is AT LEAST something isn't that something. For the divide by half a quick search on the internet will tell you that noone uses that formulation because it doesn't mean anything. The only occurence of a non-defined "half" being used that way is, not surprisingly, in this very trick question. In other words, the trick question uses an undefined half, and this is not acceptable by any mathematical standard.

For example, if you have a million dollars, and someone asks you, "Do you have twenty dollars?" then the correct answer would be yes. Even if they did not ask "Do u have AT LEAST twenty dollars." See what I mean? Your examples with Asian people and being 9 years old are different, because that doesnt have to do with HAVING something. instead it is BEING something (asian, 9 years old, etc.) Having and being are different. This trick only works if you are talking about having something. I hope I made sense to you.

Trick questions need to have proper grammar and wording. "Divide 30 by half," given the context of this video, it's clear you meant 30/0.5, which equals 60. However, this is improper phrasing in mathematics. No one says "one half." At best those with poor mathematical skills would say "divide by half" to mean "divide in half." A guy walks up to you and tells you to divide x by half. Notice that he did not say: divide x by its half. Half of a number is 50% of that number. Do you agree? A guy walks up to me and tells me to describe the relationship between 20 and 10. I tell him that 10 is 50% of 20. Fundamentally, half is 50%, which is 1/2. Take 30 and LITERALLY divide it by 50%. Do not divide 30 by its 50%. 30 divided by 50% is the same as 30/0.5 which is 60. Do you agree?

His question was phrased improperly. 30 divided by half. Half of what? We have only been given one quantity which can be halved, 30. So 30 divided by half, which is 15, is equal to 2. Add 10 and you get 12. So the answer to the question asked is 12. But after seeing his answer, I realized he can math, he just can't English.
