pop harder and/or move your front foot a bit further back to get more room to slide. my last tip would be to really tuck your knees when you pop for that extra height. or actually you might need to go a bit faster to clear the grass depending on how wide the gap between the road and sidewalk is.
I practiced my Ollie for a year now I broke my wrist trying but now I’m back in the game and I landed my first Ollie after my injury. Love the vid

@@georgepoulos it's just, that it is simplified to the max and therefore more wrong than right. While the skateboarder and the board might be an inertial frame, the skateboard to the ground is not. And you as a moving skateboarder hitting the stationary ground neither. But shove-its might be easier moving, probably because you have the help of momentum.

Hi, last week I hit the back of my head when I got speed wobbles while bombing a hill. I didn’t have a helmet on and got knocked out for over a minute. If i fell a foot to the right, my head would have hit the curb and I would have likely died or suffered severe brain bleeding and brain damage. I left hospital that day with a severe concussion and a skull fracture. After seeing your videos I feel like I have more confidence to wear a helmet at skateparks. I’ve always been extremely self conscious about what others think so I’ve never been able to. Now I’ve ordered a helmet online and will be skating proudly with a helmet soon!! Thank you so much. I have been skateboarding for about a month and can ollie, ollie over a line and small objects(baseball bat, broom, even a penny board) I also am working on consistently getting the frontside 180 and shove it(no pop yet) but want to learn all these tricks within 3 months is my goal. KZbin videos like these and especially progression videos are super inspirational. I find myself working on a trick for 15 to 20 mins getting frustrated then watching a couple videos gets me to go back and try again. A tip I've found is film yourself then slowly look a the video to see what you are doing and how to improve. Plus after 6 months to a year you can put all the videos together and watch and share your progression as I plan to do.
