The fact that most of these ppl were so “desperate” yet at no point did anyone try to go to a cashier or security for help in a crowded mall

In the second story, if someone goes to the trouble of getting your phone number, following you to the mall to creep text you, and then follow you back home and drive by, you have more to be concerned about then thinking that he followed you all the way home "just to drive by" your home. He's definitely up to more than that, I would think.

Last story: why anyone chooses to lead a guy back to their place is beyond me. Never go home if someone’s following you. Now the creep knows where you live.
@yasminbarry7941

Indeed, that is incredible. If you are being followed: Go to the Police, DON'T go home! Also: if someone is following you and you can't lose them ... DO NOT turn the lights on upon entering your unit. If your windows remain dark, he might think you entered an apartment where there is already someone else. And PLEASE don't go to the window to look outside!🙄
@taracollins5597

@@yasminbarry7941 Agreed. Always drive to a police station, if you can. If you cannot, try to drive to an open & BUSY store or parking lot. If you are already home, don't park in your apartment-numbered parking spot. Choose a Visitor spot instead. Call the police if you feel threatened.

When I was 20 I had a guy following me home from the local bar. I stopped in front of my house to confront him. I took the offensive. I snarled and made my voice As tough as so want, when he pulled up beside me. I said WHAT DO YOU WANT!!!!! He said uh Is this where you live??!!!! I said NO!! WHAT DO YOU WANT!!!!! He slinked off and drove away. I in tern drove away and did a few zig zags around my neighborhood and then parked behind my garage where he couldn’t see my car. Never saw him again.

I've decided as a woman of a certain age I give back any creepy vibes. A man stares, I stare back. A man cat calls, which is harassment, I answer. A man walks too closely, I go with it usually quietly barking or meowing. They all run away. You go crazy, I will show you the reason why those with mental health issues used to be murdered by their families.

@@molly863 Yeah, remember years ago when everyone kept talking about malls becoming a thing of the past because of online shopping. It never happened where I live (which is in the state of Florida) until COVID-19 happened in 2020. That's when the malls were like a freaking ghost town...but around 2022 I think the malls in my area were way more packed with people than ever before. My mom has the hardest time finding parking in the food court lot. I just park my car at Macy's since it's easier for me lol.

@@LuciLovesDucks exactly! I’m in Oklahoma and I’m sure the malls were dead during covid but they are as busy as they’ve ever been now. People still drive in from smaller towns to my city to go to the mall all the time.

@@molly863 I honestly can't blame them. I personally find shopping fun, but even for people who don't really like shopping there is still a certain benefit with say like trying on clothes, shoes, etc. before buying, compared to online shopping where there is no guarantee. Than you have to ship stuff back and reorder, which is a pain.

A creepy one at that Story 3: Nothing good comes from the way they described the people trying to rob them Story 4: The thing about stories like this is do the parents know their child is missing? Do they search for them or ask someone/an employee to help them? Glad the parents showed up at the right time Story 5: Why didn't she report him or ask for help from a co-worker? Glad she called the police

I really wish that people would take these people staring at them and watching them over and over again for days more seriously. It is harassment and they are in danger of being raped or killed. It is totally okay to call mall security for someone staring at you or following you. They are harassing you especially if it is repeated and repeated. It is not wise to brave it alone because you could really be hurt! Please dont feel embarrassed to call security for these things! Please look for help asap.

The woman from the last story isnt wery smart. #1 she should have told her manager or a coworker about the creep. # 2 she should have had mall security walk her to the bus #3 she should never have responded to the mans comments after the first time # 4 she should have called the cops as soon as he got off the bus with her! These are the types of people who end up hurt or dead because theyre not proactive with their safety!!!

Story 1 Yeah I would be getting help from somebody in the mall like a security guard cause this guy is acting weird and creepy. Story 2 I believe you have somebody stalking you, this new technology makes it so easy for creeps to stalk you and get away with it, it sucks! Story 3 No doubt these guys were up to no good and this is why it's a good idea to shop at night, it's a good idea to shop during the day if possible and where there's more people around. Story 4 It's not a good idea to wonder off from your friends or family cause this is when you can meet up with weirdos or people planning on kidnapping you, you're definitely lucky your parents showed up when they did. Story 5 Man! You can meet up with so many weirdos late at night when you're working alone. Yeah you're definitely being followed as well as stalked.

All of those stories sound like they are adults except for the one who obviously states they are a child. None of these supposedly nervous/frightened adults asked for help until the last one, and only AFTER it escalated. The one with the text number obviously couldn't see the creap. There isn't much to do in that situation. But the other 3 (2 of which worked in the mall) could have asked ANYONE for help. If not for direct help. Then help to find a security guard. I don't go to the mall often, but I usually see a guard patrolling every 2-4 stores. The fact that none of them just thought to call oiy for help, sounds really weird. Hard to believe. And no one can tell me that they were too scared to think clearly. When I am scared and think I'm being followed (which has happened a few time - I have ptsd from an incident) I always look around and make sure I stay where there's plenty y of people until I find some help. And, if I'm scared I ignore any possible embarrassment from seeking help. I'd rather get help, than get nearly raped, again. These stories make no sense, to me.

Most of these fools were in malls full of people while they're being stalked/harassed/threatened yet none of them bother to seek out help. "I was being followed but didn't know where security would be" - Go to the nearest store and ask for help. Staff can call up security. "I was getting random calls throughout my shopping and he even followed me home" - Drive to the police or back to the mall and report it to the police ASAP "I found 4-5 guys blocking my car so I ran back into the mall and waited until even less people were around then headed back to my car" - Seriously?

😳💭 I guess maybe bc I'm an outspoken country girl, I handled a mall situation way more different than the ppl in these stories lol. A guy started following me and my sister through the mall years ago.. When she and I were around 16 (we're twins) He was older and went into every store we went into. Each store were obvious stores for either teens or females. My sister and I laughed at him whenever we noticed him and finally I yelled at him really loud... I said something along the lines of.. Why are you following us?!? You're getting my nerves!!.. Everyone around us heard me, and even though the guy denied following us for a at least 45 minutes, he walked away. I wanted everybody to hear me, to scare him off. Later, me and sister went to the food court and sat down with some food. That same guy started looking around for a place to sit with his food and looked at us. He got ready to sit at the table next us when I yelled at him again, and I do remember what I said this time... Are you trying to kidnap me and sister?!?... I said it so loud 😆 But it worked. He walked super fast away from us. Forget about feeling embarrassed ladies.. If someone is being sneaking and creepy, call them out on it! You don't have to wait for a response bc it's not your responsibility to let them try to explain themselves, call them out and walk off or yell until they walk off. Once a creep is looked at by everyone around them they usually scurry off. If not, make a scene again. Your safety if more important than being polite ❤

On that last story, it just goes to show you how badly today's generation has been negatively influenced by media's portrayal of criminals, and how they need to be empathized with and coddled. People these days are so afraid to ruffle feathers or step on toes that they're willing to put themselves in danger of their very lives. This girl should have told mall security from day ONE. Her coworkers and management should have also been informed. If the guy followed her off the bus the cops should have been her first instinct. Now the guy is at large AND knows where she lives. But hey, we wouldn't want to "send negative vibes" though, right?
@molly863
@molly863 Жыл бұрын
You are just assuming this is a recent story. I would also argue there’s a massive amount of people in todays generation who follow the rule “be weird, be rude, stay alive” and don’t give a fuck about coddling anyone, creepy or not. Generalizing an entire generation will always make you look like the dumb one.

I fail to understand why young women get so alarmed about non-threatening male admirers. I was a teen and twenty-something when I was walking around without a male companion most of the time and maybe because we had no smartphones to send strangers texts or sexts back then, knowing a guy was following you in a mall wasn't creepy most of the time, it was flattering. I worked in a kiosk and I had a lot of young men and often not-so-young men (and occasionally a woman but I didn't know that then because it wasn't a thing people harped about starting in first grade)... but only once was I alarmed by a guy following me, and he was following me openly masturbating. He was an older black student at my high school who alternated between apologizing and then asking me to give him oral sex. Every girl I knew got flashed at least once. Now I guess girls see it long distance on their phones. From strangers who get your number somehow....

The onus should not be on women to alter their behavior (i.e. learning how to fight), it should be on men to not act like creeps. Women have good reason to be "scared of guys" as there is an epidemic of male violence against women in our world. Your comment shows how normalized this type of behavior is in our society and only serves to normalize it further when instead we should be addressing the real problem. Which is male violence in case I didn't make that plain already. Have a nice day =)
