Amazing and powerful tools! It reminds us how powerful the Grid can be. I create tiny instruments after being inspired by plugins, it's amazing, the control and simplicity . RMSC is so endless, I just went to linear phase crossovers with midi volume ducking. Based on your great youtube postings I bought your course. (BTW your spoken audio has static on it and is distracting.)

Haha yeah i did an oopsie with some of the earlier recording bits, fixed it during the course of making the video. Hope you like the course!

In re transient detector: all highpass filters basically work by subtracting a smoothed signal from the input, effectively subtracting the slow moving parts of a signal.
@TildeSoundsАй бұрын
@@GeorgeLocke true yeah, i guess you could highpass filter a rectified signal to get a transient detector?
@GeorgeLockeАй бұрын
@TildeSounds I guess you'd want a "bandpass" filter. A highpass alone and you keep all the treble. This is already what you did do, since you're subtracting one lowpass from another more permissive lowpass.
@TildeSoundsАй бұрын
@ yeah true that makes a lot of sense

preset for saturation, does not work on 5.2 version, need 5.3 ?
@TildeSoundsАй бұрын
yeah i think these all require 5.3 because of how bitwig saves presets. you should be able to rebuild anything except the sidechainer in 5.2, but the preset files won't open in older versions
@jshstuffАй бұрын
lmao way more straightforward than the compander I did
@TildeSoundsАй бұрын
i forgot what you did, wasn't yours in ableton? that tends to complicate things ^^
@jshstuffАй бұрын
@@TildeSounds no, it was bitwig grid, but it was way messier. but I guess the difference is mine had threshold and a sort of ratio feature. so it would only apply the companding when the signal goes over the threshold. I’ll probably just do your simple envelope follower setup in the future though
@TildeSoundsАй бұрын
@@jshstuff yeah i didnt want to try making a proper compressor in the grid, i did before and it's always such a headache lol

Might be an interesting video but the audio is full of nasty digital artifacts, like you downsampled to 44.1 wrong or something. Maybe listen to videos before uploading them.

I did, seems fine to me. Not beautiful, but intelligible

@@TildeSounds I checked on a second system to make sure there's nothing wrong with my monitors. Maybe something went wrong during the youtube upload. It does not sound fine.
