not only in the north... there is a famous (mixed!) onsen (I forgot the name) where they serve it and I have seen many cans of bear meat in different places

Just scratching the surface! Unfortunately you get a lot of annoying creators recommended in this niche, I even get them for making videos 😂 thanks man!

After two years in Japan, my last meal consisted of 牛タン=beef tung, 馬刺=raw horse meat and もつ鍋=tripe stew. Before coming to Japan I would have never tought I would eat such food, but I grew to enjoy it, and wanted to eat it since you can't have such things in my home country 😂

Gyutan with salt and lemon dip is extremely good!

The last :45 or so is the high quality, borderline unhinged content that I sub for. Yeah, most tourists will probably not eat most of these things. I have a humble addition to this as well. I was at an izakaya in Asakusa and they had たこわさ, which I ordered thinking it was boiled octopus. Nope, raw tentacles. One of the more interesting textural experiences I've had, but it tasted fine. Aren't most of what is listed here drinking foods? Or the more accurate statement...everything is a drinking food in Japan. Great content! HEY YOU! LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE! I KNOW YOU LAUGHED AT THIS VIDEO, GIVE THIS MAN SOME LOVE.

Hell yes! Raw tako, especially the ones that wriggle when salted, are my greatest fear since I tend to not chew properly and I just know it will be the way I die by choking! You're right! Everything is a drinking food in Japan 😂

The first time I tried Torazashi was in Thailand - and the only reason why I tried it was that I and my friends had a running gag of saying that food could be worse - It could have been raw chicken sushi! And one day there it was on the menu. The place was called Jidori Cuisine Ken and I can highly recommend it if you ever go to Bangkok.

Hahaha! I I'd never eat torizashi outside of Japan, and I've lived in isaan for nearly 4 years! And I've eaten larb muang moo which is kinda the same thing! Japanese restaurants in Thai are usually great though!

I'm from Wisconsin USA and we have "cannibal sandwiches" which involve raw ground beef, and my husband's family makes lutefisk each Christmas, so it's interesting to compare other "weird" food dishes :)
@JustAnotherJapanChannel10 ай бұрын
Raw ground beef sounds like German to me! Lutefisk is very normal in Norway, and I love it on flat rear with some bacon and potatoes!

Proud to say I've tried basashi, shirasu and horumon and I make my own natto at home for brekkies. The other stuff you mentioned will have to wait for my next visit to Japan I guess! Also surprised you didn't mention whale/kujira.
@JustAnotherJapanChannel10 ай бұрын
Nice! I didn't mention kujira since it's not particularly weird to me. Norway and Japan do a whole lot of whaling and whale steaks are a staple in Norway 😂

natto enjoyer😎 also i heard westerner don't eat seaweeds (to me, wtf. seaweeds offer one of the richest sources of umami taste is kinda like tomato.) and some vegetable like gobo or renkon. i think renkon(lotus root) is underrated has potential like sushi or ramen.

I can't eat my TKG Natto without rayu and seaweed!

I’ve been to Japan 3 times now and wow I’ve eaten al 5 of ‘em. I had the sperm sack raw at a Michelin restaurant and I had a really though time swallowing it. No pun intended! Great videos, enjoy them a lot dude! Peace from the Netherlands!
@chrisa39617 ай бұрын
I had it all, even the fish cum and raw chicken. And yes, I bragged a lot and still do it, bro :-) I love natto by the way and I still eat it here in Europe. You forgot the still moving tako or fish (although it is cut) and some whale sashimi or steak. (and of course there is plentifully more)

Hell yeah! I'd try the living tentacle but I'm a fatty in mind, spirit and body which makes me underchew and I'd probably die from it getting stuck in my throat lol

Yeah but no. Seriously no. Can’t wait to visit Japan again, but my reliance on McDonald’s is certain. And KFC.

Nothing wrong with that! Torizashi is... An acquired taste you're better off not acquiring
