I tried this and 'won' a chalk bag - there was no way however to actually claim it, I just got a message that the code couldn't be used with my basket contents - my best guess was it would only work if I reached some minimum order buying other stuff?

I think I've watched too many climbing videos... I see in the background, while Alex is talking about negative thoughts, the kitty cat boulder that someone set for Louis in some other video...
@climbing_thomas7 ай бұрын
also the yellow boulder when alex talks about "feel more think less" was in a video with louis and nathan i think, and the "purrrrfect toecatch boulder" was on a catalyst video, it is the one next to the red one alex does right after talking about the feeling! edit: aah, i thought you saw the one he set for his cat, my bad!

2:46 This is actually why I started climbing 3 months ago! I did it once after an invitation from a friend and I realized this was NOT my thing because I am not very good at it. I'm too heavy, not flexible, I lack grip strength and I am not very tall. So that's actually why I decided to accept it as a personal challenge, because I'm used to seeking out things I'm good at and that can get boring after a while. So yeah, 3 months later I still suck, but at least I can do a few easy V4s now. Hopefully I'll be able to do V5s within my first year.

"Let's focus on the feet and getting our body weight onto them, that's where you get power from" *Proceeds to put the toes of a fully extended foot on a shoulder height hold and somehow manages to weight it* Yes, this clearly applies across skill levels, but something tells me that being made of spring steel or whatever it is Alex is made of also helps quite a bit.

Could I just put a tiny word of warning out there on the 60/40? As a much much older climber (50s), I think one also has to be very careful to listen to one's body on the subject of things one isn't comfortable with or good at. There is a very real chance of injury otherwise. So I'm not at all great at heel hooks, and I do try to try them. But I can also feel that if I push it I'm going to knacker my hamstrings and at my age that could be permanent game over.

We are rarely as good as we hope to be, and our progress is never as swift as we'd like. Stay objective, and try to see your progress over time rather than an individual session. (This is a hypocritical take - I'm a recovering perfectionist, and it sucks when we can't see improvement or feel like we don't measure up to the challenge). Gotta keep at it, and keep having fun. Good luck out there!
