Once I learned about retention, I saw growth. My hair was always growing, it was just breaking at the same rate.

Entering my 4th year and I’m finally starting to see growth and just overall progress .. was stuck between bra strap and waist length … I’ve been consistent about taking my iron and I think that’s helped . Now I’m taking a multivitamin and have a good routine ..all I need is the nutrition exercise and water component

It took me a while to start seeing results because when I first started to go straight natural I didn’t know what I’m the world I was doing. But when I started to do research, dig deep and start trying different things on my hair it started to change. The growth wasn’t all that different but my hair was a tone healthier. P.S. your channel helped me, thank you

I started my natural hair journey in the spring of 2003. My hair was probably armpit length. I started doing a wash and go. I straightened my hair in the fall and it was bra strap length. My hair had never been that long. No heat helped but growth beyond waist length straight has been challenging. I’m trying to grow my hair to bra strap length when it’s curly.

It took me 4 years to go from neck length to bra length… I started with curly proverbs rice water and flaxseeds gel . Then I went onto other bloggers and tried the oils and I switched to using Shea butter products , also cantu leave in conditioner helped maintain my hair

I have wavy/straight hair, and I’ve been growing my hair out from a pixie cut I had in cosmetology school, for 7 years. It’s finally at my bottom rib now, after the stylist I went to at the beginning of January, decided to chop 3 inches off

It took me like 3 years or more to see some growth. I take pre-natal vitamins but I need to check for additives.

I know this is a late comment but it took me a few months of being fully natrual to see growth.i use to straighten my hair all the time.i shaved off the side of my head that was broken off really badly and cut the split ends on my hair, but I stilled straightened it.and my hair grew but kept breaking.at the end of 2018(November)I stopped heat completely and cut my hair to my chin so in curls it was to my ears.i would wash my hair and just put it into two braids with a leave in and take it out when I wanted to I looked like lord farquad but I wasnt too upset about it .by January my hair was to my collar bone and I kept doing two braids and then moves to 4 when my hair got thicker.its 2021 now and my hair I'd waist length.now I sometimes do twist and twist outs but i just thought I'd share some of my journey

I have definitely seen improved health shine manageability but no growth. I can’t retain my length for some reason. I see the breakage from my ends every day. I have increased my protein treatments but I’m thinking maybe I need to do more protective styles 😕

Protective styling works very well for growth retention

Love the 5 reasons for slow hair growth, but would add a healthy diet as well.

When I big chopped, I only had an inch of hair left on my head in the front with the sides and back tapered to a very low cut. It took 2.5 years before my hair grew out to APL when stretched.

I’ve been natural since July 2008, and transitioned for a year before that. It took me a month or two to see growth.
