I have purged my closets recently. Just decided to simplify my wardrobe. I’m retired and don’t need work suits or pants sets, all the heels etc. If I haven’t worn it in a year out it goes. In another month I will go through all my clothes again and purge even more. Makes me feel better, less stress. Thanks for your advice.

That is exactly what I plan to do! I am so used to dressing each day before my retirement that I am having a hard time getting rid of stuff. The only place I can really dress for now is Church and it has become casual as well! Oh for the good old days when women dressed up for everything! I love to play dress up!

Sixty Something Style I like to dress up too. I still have some fierce heels. I dress up for church and date night when we manage to have one. My best friend was being treated for stage 4 lung cancer that metastasized to her brain...I drove her every day to her treatments and she had one rule..she said “everyday day one of us has to be cute”, so we were always cute. I appreciate what you do for us. I’ve just been diagnosed with leukemia and finding out what is really important in my life...being cute to the end is one of them!😜😇❤️🤣🤦‍♀️ Hahahahaha

Great advice! After watching your videos you have inspired me. I've never been one to wear makeup or even nice clothes. Now suddenly, at the age of 67, I'm starting to go out and buy clothes and putting on makeup. Today I went to the drive-up window at Kroger's and also picked up my groceries. I didn't even leave the car but I had on nice clothes, makeup and my wig. Thanks for the inspiration. 🤩

You inspire me!!! I'm a true lover of thrift stores!!! I as well, have never paid full price! It's so much more fun finding a bargain! I tend to dress nicer in the winter...not sure why, I'm pretty casual when its hotter that hell!! LOL!! I have many designer bags, not one of them are new!!! (Still searching for that Birkin...ha!) Here are my tips. IMO, first, you should know your style. My style tends to be classic, so that makes it easier for me to spend less money because I can wear many things year after year. Second for me is that I build my wardrobe around certain neutral bottoms which are mainly pants. I have invested in a couple of pairs of very well made pants. One of the nicest pairs of pants I have bought in recent years came from a thrift store. You have to be willing to shop over and over to find the right things, but often it is worth it. Third, I change it up with my tops and necklaces. I have found that having a couple of really unique necklaces can make a wardrobe look very expensive. Fourth, for me, I love vests and have found that they can change up my wardrobe easily without a lot of effort. Last, but not least, for those who live outside the very hot areas of the country, do not discount the value of scarves. My local thrift store often has scarves for only $1 each. And some of them are very nice.
