I personally wouldn't put anything inside a singing bowl. The singing bowl has a prayer around it : Aum Mane Padme Hum. It's generally used for spiritual purposes; and the prayer is no joke. You can throw it away if you burn everyday you don't want to have a wallet full of ashes and your home full of ashes. I burn bay leaves daily. I think letting it blow in the wind is also good.
