They can benefit from these goods by eating it, therefore gaining something out of it Scenario 2: people have goods that are not expired, and are discarded. People do not gain benefits from the food as it is thrown away instead of consumed. I hope this clarified the difference between using goods to your benefit, and wasting it completely!

People complaining about the dog food: It’s probably not the type of dog food his dog eats and it is not good for them to eat food there body is not used to. “Why didn’t they just donate it?” Most shelters will not take open dog food because unfortunately this world is full of sickos and it’s a security reason. As big of a dog as he is, he's probably fine.... There is so little chocolate in those things that he'd probably just have a runny mess at the worst for a day. As it is, he only ate a few pieces, from the looks of it (maybe less than 20?) My dog is just as big as Kevin and she's eaten some pretty strange things (including an entire packet of Arby's Sauce- literally... the ENTIRE packet... and about 4 packets- literally, the ENTIRE packet.... of gushers candy....) and she was totally fine. Everything passed through her system and we had no clue until she passed everything outside one day and we were just like uhhhh..... okay.... And my little dog has an iron gut, too- she's about 20-30 pounds of pure muscle and speed- and she found a packet of latte powder (most of it was milk, I think?) and ate the ENTIRE thing, apparently. She passed that one day, and I had no clue. She and the big dog got into a box of k-cups that our cat knocked over and had licked up some coffee grounds and I thought I got up all the trash but, apparently not... Both were completely fine. We watched them for a little while to make sure (and take them to the vet if they showed signs of sickness), but they were their normal typical selves.
